Geometry...I mean Geometric!

It's time for new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and our optional twist is to use a Chevron or Geometric Patterns...not Geometry! Thank goodness for that or I would be in some trouble!  I'm not sure I remember very many formulas, theorems or anything else from HS Geometry for that matter.  Being a music major in college did not require any classes like this in college...whew!

I used this geometric pattern paper from Polkadoodles and combined it with the versatile Happy Flowers Digi Set.  I chose this floral stamp set because there are so many options; you will be seeing more later in the month!

This card was designed in Cricut Design Space using the Print and Cut feature.

Critters and Photos!

The new theme for the
Cut It Up challenge is Critters!  Create any type of project, but don't forget your die cuts!!

I have chosen to use Bubbles Fun Photo's from Kitten Scraps.  I have combined this fun digi with papers and ephemera from Luv U 2 Pieces, *ABC Journal Girl  and *Color Basics 2 Kit to create this fun layout of my little grand-girl and her best buddy!  Everything paper is from Kitten Scraps...yes, everything!
* denotes possibly retired/not found on Kitten Scraps website

I colored the digi with Copic markers and used Liquid Glass over the green flower and pink heart paper buttons.  There is a brad holding the tags together so the top one can swivel over to write on the tag underneath!  Perfect for a secret!  ;)

Notice the little ribbon on the right with hearts on it....it's NOT ribbon!  It's paper from the pack, but it looks like ribbon.  The heart border is so sweet and adds a little something up above the photo frame.  Tickets are so trendy and make for a great little accent and the journal card is just enough room to write a date and/or memory.

Perfect pink page for 3 year old best friends!

You will find lots of incredible papers and digis at KittenScraps to inspire your creativity whether you enjoy digital, traditional or hybrid crafting!  You'll find a wide variety including cute, trendy, pop culture, holiday, ephemera/elements, etc!  Go visit and check out all the new items in the store!

Strength

It's time for new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and our optional twist is to use a Doily! I chose to use a chunky sort of doily oval and border on this encouragement/sympathy/stay strong card.

Having grown up in the funeral business, I have always felt trees = strength.  (I think it comes from the Batesville Casket Company....but anyway, that's probably more information than you care to hear/read!)  There's something about a tree's ability to thrive and give that is incredible to me.  They are strong and beautiful while they live; and when they die, they begin a new life!

My grandfather, who was the funeral director, was quite a craftsman and built beautiful furniture.  His most amazing pieces were rose back chairs and love seats.  What that man could do with a piece of wood was nothing short of miraculous, but then again, the wood (tree) itself was a miracle!

If you have about 5 minutes for a lovely tree video with great music, check out the video below.  It sort of inspired this card!

Baby Shower Bag

1. CONGRATULATIONS - NOT BIRTHDAY

2. USE ANY IMAGE

3. MUST BE A CELEBRATION PROJECT - ADD A PULL OUT ELEMENT, IE A FLAP, TAG, PERFORATION STRIP ETC

Time for a new challenge over at Digi Choosday and the DT always have their own fun challenge to create using a criteria.  The outline of our criteria this week is posted above!  It's always anything goes for all of our challenge entries!

I chose to make a gift bag with a tag/card and gift card holder 3-in-1 project!  This was a simple bag to make using a bag cut from my stash and adhering the image piece with a plain sheet of cardstock as a pocket.  The tag cut and sentiment are from Winnie Sugar Sprinkles and the pocket is from Li'l Miss Sugarpops!

My image is Copic Colored with a background from the Winston Collection.

To see how this bag works, check out the short video below!  No need to get your coffee/tea/cola, it's a short video!  ;)

Christmas in July!

The new theme for the
Cut It Up challenge is Christmas in July!  Create any type of project, but don't forget your die cuts!!

I love the Christmas Elf I have from my grandma's house!  This elf, who sits in my tree, has looked over my two kids and is now looking over my grandgirls!  I also have a new elf who sits out on a firetruck.  Not sure why he sits there, but he does!  ;)

I decided to create a layout of my littlest from a couple of years ago and a Christmas card using these delightful elves from Scrappy Dew!  These die cuts are so fun and full of Christmas Cheer!

Alpaca or Llama?

There's a new challenge over at A Gem of a Challenge!

The team is challenged to create a Holiday Project.
Come and join us at where it is Anything Goes; can't wait to see you there!

Now, I do claim to know a bit about horses and dogs, but I know NOTHING about llamas or alpacas.  Yes, I do know there is a difference and this particular digi is a Llama.  However, I'm going to make him into an alpaca for this card!

Now that I have that out of the way, I can continue on the card itself!  ;)  This card was created in Cricut Design Space using the Print and Cut feature....wait, why try to do all the typing when I can show you!

Grab a cup of your favorite beverage & a snack and join me on YouTube or simply play the video below!  The first part shows how I created it in Design Space and the last part is where I put it all together since the cactus and alpaca...I mean llama (hee hee) are 3 dimensional!

Material list:

Digi Stamp:  Llama Cactus
Polkadoodles Papers:  Stars from Feel the Music Work & Play 8; Green Plaid from Winnie Wednesday Halloween; Background from Winnie Special Moments paper Heaven 4
Ink: CTMH Sweet Leaf (Retired)
Copic Sketch MarkersCopic Ciao Markers
Copic Liner
Adhesives:  Scrappy Tape 1"Scotch ATGZig 2 Way Glue Pen
Cricut Design Space:  Cricut Access

This card is off to the following challenges:

Colour Crazy Challenge:  AG hand Colored
Simply Create Too:  AG with twist of Pattern Paper
Aud Sentiments:  AG with a Sentiment

The Card Concept:  I was inspired by the colors and cactus in the picture.  I think this card fits into "Layered Freestyle"?  Not sure!  I have a lot of trouble placing my work into the "proverbial" boxes!  ;)  I'm not even sure what my overall style is!
