Cowgirls Love Bandanas!

  I again was inspired by the FarmQuest Challenge where the theme is 'Bandana.'  Again, a fun country theme I couldn't pass up!  I used the triangular bandana to create an envelope look behind the cowgirl!

Ok, truth be told, there is nothing in my garden but some dandelions right now!  hahaha  But maybe soon there will be some lovely wild flowers after my little grandgirl and I plant.  Today there is a bit of ice out there...ugh!  No worries, it's supposed to be back up in the 70's by the time this post goes live!

Amphibians? Yep, amphibians @ Scribbles!

 There's a new challenge posted over at Scribbles and the theme is...Amphibians.    Yep, it's true.  Now, I'm NOT a fan of these creatures...I remember from Sophomore Bio Class that frogs have vomerine teeth, and that was enough to put me off.  

I know, I mess with 1000+ pound animals that have lots of teeth; and, yes, I've been bitten by a couple of horses!  I have a German Shepherd who has the bite force greater than almost any other dog.  

You must wonder why these teeth in a frog bother me.  I don't know...ugh!  I seriously have to stifle screams when I see these guys!  

However, after pondering, meditating, therapy, and closing my eyes while I colored... I present you with Carl!  Now, don't be alarmed, but he'll be back...just wait!

The Last Unicorn

Playing in one of my art journals and inspired by the challenge over at Creative Friday!  This is a new challenge site for me; I just ran across it a couple of weeks ago and I was drawn in by their themes this year.  They are looking at special dates of well known people and celebrating them.  This challenge they are celebrating the life of Vincent van Gogh and using the "Starry Night" piece as the inspiration.  

I've always been sort of intrigued by this painting and had the opportunity to see the van Gogh VR Experience at a nearby museum!  It was wonderful; I highly recommend it.

Knowing a tiny bit of van Gogh history and looking at this painting, I was inspired to create The Last Unicorn.  I included the stars and blues from the painting.  I often think of van Gogh as sort of a mystical unicorn looking for his place in our world, but belonging in a mythical place only he knew.
