Brighten Up!

It's a new challenge over at Digi Choosday and the design team is working with Bright Colors this week.  I also added a bit of texture and sparkle in the middle of the flowers with some glitter glue!

I combined the fun papers and flowers and PRE-COLORED pets from Work & Play 12 Vet/Dog Groomer with the whimsical PRE-COLORED images in Horace & Boo Embellies Bundle!  What a fun combination of collections for a card to celebrate our vet who has been working with our new pup!

Crazy Color Challenge

I am a guest designer at The Crazy Challenge again today!

This time it is a color challenge full of beautiful fall colors.  This was so fun for me since I haven't had an opportunity to play with inks for a while!

The background was inked randomly with the 5 colors of ink.  I layerd on a piece of dark green grid paper and some burlap.  I stamped the pumpkin scene in the same colors using a retired CTMH stamp.  I used part of the background paper for the sentiment.  My bow was died to match the card.

A big thank you to The Crazy Challenge for inviting me to play along  with them again this week!  It is such a joy to share with all of you.

I'm going to get a little crazy at the following challenges:

Come and Get It:  Add a Pumpkin
Dare 2 B Artzy:  Fall Colors
Penny Black and More:  Close to Nature
Stamping Sensations: Autumn Glory

Material List:
CTMH Inks:  Honey,Sunset, Sweet Leaf, Topiary, Autum Terracotta
CTMH Stamp:
Bias Tape:

I chose to make the Boo Shaker from the Halloween and Fall Shaker Cards.  I added little ghosts from the Halloween Trio set.

Old Truck

The new twist for our Anything Goes challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday is Torn Edges/Twine!  I went with another masculine card this week.

Again, I used all scrap papers !  This stamp was from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps.  I'm not sure they are in business anymore...I can't find them.

I lightly colored over it with some browns and greys.  I did a little embossing on the background paper and added some burlap to go with the old country truck!

This month our challenge is sponsored by The Greeting Farm.

Halloween Decor

It's a new challenge over at Digi Choosday and we are sharing Halloween or Autumn.  I wanted a new piece of decor for our front door and decided what better than a small broom hanging there!

I started with the spooky papers and Winnie Wednesday Witch & Cat from the Winnie Wednesday Full Collection The flowers are made from Work & Play 12 Cutting Files and the vine is Flowers 2 Cutting File.

The digi is printed on Halloween paper and Copic colored.  The stars were cut and I also cut a stencil from the same pattern.  I used the stencil to put Glass  Bead Glitter Gel stars on the orange colored layer under the digi layer.  A little ribbon tied into a bow finishes it!

Be sure to head over to Digi Choosday and check out the amazing projects from our team!  Then come share what you are crafting; we'd love to see it!  Remember, when you visit the Digi Choosday Site to pick up your discount code to Polkadoodles; it's good all day today....Tuesday!  It's a great way to pick up those digi's you've had your eye on!  While you're there, you might want to sign up for the Newsletter so you never miss out on special events!

Dreaming

Wow, it's already mid-October and time for another Path of Positivity post; this month is flying by!

Continuing our 3 Month Series over at Path of Positivity:  Surround Yourself with ...  this month we are thinking about Literature!  Surround Yourself with Literature!  The idea is to share how you are inspired by the written word in any form!  Anything from Shakespeare to Saunders; Stan Lee to Plato; Agatha Christie to Emily Dickinson; cooking to car repair; religious studies to Toilet Paper Origami (yes, there's a book for that!) we want to know what you read to feel positive and how it inspires your creativity!

Next to all my children's books are books about horses.  Everything from college text books about Equine Science to Equine Philosophy/Quotes; Horse Paper Doll Books to Trivia; Training to Cartoons!  Yep, I have an entire bookshelf devoted to it!  I have horse books in the bedroom, barn, my art room, my music room, the family room...they're everywhere!

*   *   *

I chose to use the digi Dream Catcher Maiden from Sparkle n Sprinkle to go along with the quote by Pam Brown.  This image was a great inspiration for my Equine themed art journal.  I think she is adorable sitting there in the dream catcher.

I started by designing my page in Design Space and cutting all the pieces.  While cutting, I did some stamping and inking on the background pages.  The digi is Copic colored with the addition of some gel pens and Glitz Glitter Gel.

I used Cricut Cuts from:  Old West, Heritage, CTMH Artistry, CTMH Artiste.  The  background of the image is a frame from Polkadoodles.  All papers are retired from CTMH.  The stamps are also retired from CTMH.

The dream catcher caught some glass seed beads and Recollections Copper Brown Chunky Glitter.

Our challenge this month is sponsored by Sparkle n Sprinkle.

Thanks for stopping by; PoP on over to the challenge (where you can learn more about our theme and sponsors) to see what the rest of the team is doing and share with us your thoughts, art, and inspirations!  Our themes are optional now, so we'd love to see anything positive you've been working on even if it doesn't exactly fit the theme.

Time

The new twist for our Anything Goes challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday is Buntings or Banners!  I chose to go with some banners on top of my masculine card.

I used all scrap papers from the depths of my craft room!  hahaha I love this ribbon with the gears...also very old.  The watch stamp and cut are from CTMH...also retired.  I used heat embossing with silver powder.  I embossed the background paper and sprayed it with some shimmer mist.  The banners were machine sewn onto the embossed piece.

This month our challenge is sponsored by The Greeting Farm.

Just a hint of Color!

It's a new challenge over at Digi Choosday and we are sharing Christmas White with a hint of color!  Whew, that was a challenge until I thought about all the beautiful embossed looking white papers and lovely sentiments from Winnie White Christmas!  I combined those lovely papers with an adorable polar bear from Winnie Winterland Digis.  I added a scrap blue square and some blue gems and there we are!  I did do a bit of copic coloring on the bear; this was a quick and easy card!

Crazy Halloween Shaker!

Hey, I'm posting on a 2nd Monday of the month!  I realize I usually don't do this, but I am a guest designer today at The Crazy Challenge!  Is that exciting or what?!

The theme is Halloween and I chose to use one of the adorable Winnie Wednesday PRE-COLORED digis from Polkadoodles for my card.  This card has a few "bells and whistles" to share.  First off, it's a shaker card.  I filled the little window behind the web with little Seed Beads in clear and black.

Secondly, the spider goes up and down the spider line!  I glued one of the little beads to the back side of the spider.  I adhered some fishing line (one of my all time favorite crafting supplies "wink, wink") between the acetate window and the web.  I then put the line through the bead and adhered the bottom of the line under the frame.  The spider can move up and down the line!  Spooky, yes?  haha

A big thank you to The Crazy Challenge for inviting me to play along with them this week!  It is such a joy to share with all of you.

I'm going to get a little crazy at the following challenges:
Polkadoodles:  AG
Dragonfly Dreams:  Fully Loaded
Hiding in My Craftfoom:  Halloween Collors
The Fairy and Unicorn:  AG/ Witching Halloween

Material List:
Digi papers and PRE-COLORED digi images from Polkadoodles
Fishing Line
Spider Cut:  Cricut CTMH Artbooking
Web Frame Cut:  Cricut CTMH Artbooking
Acetate Alternative for Window
Seed Beads Black and Clear
CTMH Inks: Gypsy and Sunset (Retired)

Hope

The new theme over at Cut It Up is Breast Cancer Awareness.  Our sponsor, CAS-ual Friday Stamps, was incredibly generous and provided me with a stamp set, 2 dies, and sequins so I could share this important event with you.  When you purchase these sets, 50% of the proceeds will be donated to breast cancer research and awareness.  Everyone wins: you get some beautiful stamps and dies and a wonderful organization benefits at the same time!

From what I have read, this is a cause very near and dear to Michele's heart.  She has a special interest in spreading the word about self exams and sharing updates on research.  You can follow this on the Calling All Sistahs Challenge Blog the 17th of each month.

There are some beautiful sentiments in the set and the dies cut beautifully!  I actually cut the word "hope" from a cereal box and it cut through with no problems!  The sequins package is so sparkly and adds the perfect touch!

Hope Ribbon Stamp Set
Ruffled Ribbon Fri-die
Hope Fri-die
Sistahood Sparkle

I chose to back this in black so the sequins would
stand out and sparkle even more.  It gives it a sort of
contemporary "space odyssey" look!

If you are as lucky as I am and don't know anyone going through this journey, I would like to share this idea.  I am sending my cards to Girls Love Mail.  If you would like to participate in this, please visit their site and read their guidelines in preparation to make your card.

If you do know someone to receive your card, my thoughts and prayers are with you and 'your sistah' as the journey continues.

Hope is stronger than fear and I feel educated hope is even stronger!  Keep up with your monthly exams and physicals, and stay informed.

Hope is off to:
Unicorn Challenge Blog:  Perfectly Pink for BCA
Fabrika Fantasy:  Pink or Halloween
Watercooler Wednesday:  Feminine AG
Fab 'n' Funky:  Pretty in Pink
Time Out Challenge:  Breast Cancer Awareness or Friendship
In the Pink:  Flower Power
I added a floral/word stamp over the ribbon
stamp.  I stamped the ribbon first and masked
it.  Then I added a thick die cut and put some
lace behind the front panel.

When you visit the Cut It Up blog, have fun viewing the DT projects and check out the rules and prize info.  Then share your projects ~ don't forget the die cut to have a chance to win a prize from our sponsor!

This card has an embossed front panel with the
ribbon stamped and die cut.  I then popped
it with 3-D tape.

Charmed, I'm Sure!

The new twist for our Anything Goes challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday is Charmed!  I decided to use a charm on my ribbon.  I was going through some old broken jewelry and found this tombstone earring and thought, 'How perfect would this be with my Halloween scene!'

I used papers, digi (Winnie Wednesday Skull) and a sentiment from Polkadoodles.  The digi is Copic colored.  I hand dyed the ribbon to match the orange and added black sequins for some shine.

This month our challenge is sponsored by The Greeting Farm.

Winnie Wednesday will be off haunting the following challenges:

Music: Black and White!

Katrina ~ Whenever I hear Black and White I can't help but think of music!  Add a color.....well, I guess it will be brass colored.  The paper and trumpet are from the Work & Play 8 Feel the Music Collection.

Since everyone in our family through 4 generations (who plays an instrument) plays oboe or trumpet, I guess I have to choose the trumpet!  Seriously, it's true; my grandfather, mom, uncle, cousin, cousin's husband and son, my husband, and my nephew all play trumpet!  My cousin who married the trp player plays oboe and so does her daughter.  I play oboe and married a trp player.  My sister played oboe.  Yes, strange, I know!

Anyway, you're probably not here to learn my family instrument history!  ;)

My card uses the paper and trumpet from the Work & Play 8 Feel the Music Collection.  This was a quick card to put together.  I did some embossing with a folder and added some brass colored metallic tape.  That paper is so fun, I wanted it and the trp to take center stage!

Remember, when you visit the Digi Choosday Site to pick up your discount code to Polkadoodles; it's good all day today....Tuesday!  It's a great way to pick up those digi's you've had your eye on!

Be sure to head over to Digi Choosday and check out the amazing projects from our team!  Then come share what you are crafting; we'd love to see it!

Surround Yourself with Literature

Continuing our 3 Month Series over at Path of Positivity:  Surround Yourself with ...  this month we are thinking about Literature!  Surround Yourself with Literature!  The idea is to share how you are inspired by the written word in any form!  Anything from Shakespeare to Saunders; Stan Lee to Plato; Agatha Christie to Emily Dickinson; cooking to car repair; religious studies to Toilet Paper Origami (yes, there's a book for that!) we want to know what you read to feel positive and how it inspires your creativity!

Ok, it's out of the bag....I like kid's books!  I love Shel Silverstein, AA Milne, Fred Rogers, Margery Williams, Hans Christian Anderson, Jan Brett, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Roald Dahl, oh the list goes on and on!  Why?  It makes me smile!  If you go back to the art in my house, I have lots of Victorian Children and angels; so, is it any surprise I would love kid's books?  My sister has an even bigger collection than I do.  That makes it easy to borrow whatever I need.  Now, if she doesn't have it, well my daughter works at the local library!  ; )

*   *   *
I designed this card in Cricut Design Space so I could place the cut circle appropriately and have my tree placed and printed.  Once that was done I cut the children on the swing, the sentiment, and the card front.  This delightful digi stamp and sentiment are called Right Beside You.

I cut away the ropes on the swing and put twine in place of it.  Then I glued the twine in at the tree branches.  When the card is open, the kids can swing through the circle!
