AG Thank You!

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday; the twist for our anything goes challenge is Anything Goes.

We have been generously sponsored by Imagine That Digi Stamp this month and it has been such a fun month working with all the beautiful papers, PRE-COLORED digis and ephemera, black & white digis to color, etc!  The collections are packed full of fun!

This week I created with J'aime Paris and the Paris in Summer Papers.  These are absolutely charming images and the colors are beautiful!

I printed my sentiment onto a white card base in Cricut Design Space.  The bicycle, which is PRE-COLORED and already placed on the white border, was also cut in DS along with a grey shadow for my bike to pop it off the card a bit.

Printed paper from the collection, some 3-D tape, and a scrap of ribbon completes this quick card ready to thank a friend!

This little bike is riding off to the following challenges:

Die Cuttin Divas:  What Makes You Happy (Thankfulness and carefree days!)
ITDS Year Round Link Up:  AG with ITDS
Try it on Tuesday:  Take a Ride

3, 2, 1 Blast Off!

The new theme for the Cut It Up challenge is ABC's and/or 123's!  Sort of a fun way to start off the new school season with the traditional letters and numbers.  So, use letters and or numbers in your project and don't forget your die cuts!!

This card takes me back to my college days when I took an astronomy class.  I was lucky to have grown up with a dad who was an avid amateur astronomer; so, I had some experience in this science.  Our college also had a great conservatory.

I can just imagine the dreams this little fellow has as he gazes up into the evening sky!

Christmas Contemplation

Here's a little mixed media piece I made for my studio.  Sometimes, we all need to be reminded during the holidays to slow down, relax, and contemplate!  I was inspired by this charming Polkadoodles digi, Delivering Gifts by Sledge, and the idea just ran from there.  Winnie looks so 'deep in thought' as she travels through the snow with her companions.

I started by Copic coloring the image, and then turned to my background.  I chose a tan plaid paper from Winnie White Christmas Big Kahuna Download.  I imported that pattern into Cricut Design Space and added the snowflakes (Winnie Winterland) in red, green and tan.  While I was in DS, I printed out the tags (Winnie Winterland) and the sentiment (Winnie Special Moments Quotes) onto a red rectangle changing the font to white.

Once all was printed and cut, it was time for some messy fun!  I brushed matte medium over the background and "drew" around the area where my image would go with a brown pen smudging as I went.  I did some minimal stamping and inked the edges of the tags.

Next, I adhered the background paper to a piece of corrugated cardboard from an old box.  Texture pasted went around the edges for a snowy effect!  Now for my favorite part, adhering all the pieces.  I love it when it comes to this point and I get to start choosing all the goodies!  What's even better is almost everything here was in my scrap bag!

My plan is to hang this through the holidays and then hole punch for a Holiday Art Journal.  Who knows, I may end up keeping it a piece of wall art.  Hmmmm......I'll have to contemplate this!

Material List:

Polkadoodles Digi:  Delivering Gifts by Sledge

Polkadoodles Paper:  Winnie White Christmas Big Kahuna Download
Polkadoodles Tags and  Snowflake:  Winnie Winterland

Back to School Layout!

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday; the twist for our anything goes challenge is Use a School Supply.

We are generously sponsored by Imagine That Digi Stamp this month and I chose to work with several PRE-COLORED images from School Days KD-Kit and three different papers from the School Days Digi Papers.  Everything you see here is from these two collections!  There are tons of adorable school sentiments, supplies, papers, etc in these bundles perfect for your back to school/teacher projects!

I put this 100% digital layout together on a Mac using the Pages/Notes program.  No special add ons or expenses, just the traditional program that came with my computer.  It's such a quick and fun way to use these beautiful images from ITDS!

You have several options of how you can use your digital layout creations:

*Print off your layouts and adhere them into scrapbooks.
*Make books out of them.
*Print them 12 x 12 traditional size and slide them into clear sleeves for a Scrapbook.
*Send it over the computer to far away relatives so they can be a part of the fun!
*Size them for holiday cards.
*Use your imagination for many more uses!

Christmas Fairy

Had some fun coloring up a Christmas card!  Decided it was time to put some of my Kit and Clowder Classes to the test and combine them into one card with these adorable Polkadoodles images.

I started with the three digi stamps listed below.  I printed that and then very lightly drew in the post for the lantern and the snow drifts with a pencil.  Then the Copic coloring fun began!  Once I had my image colored, I added the gel pen and Stickles.  The Snowflakes are actually flowers, but I liked them for this winter/Christmas scene!  So, I inked them up in coordinating colors, added glitter and gems and there we are!

My coloring techniques include:
Snow from November 2016 Monthly Class
Fairy Wings from August 2017 Monthly Class
Sky and Metal Lantern from March 2018 Monthly Class
Wood Post from June 2018 Monthly Class
Skin and Hair Class

Polkadoodles digis and SVG cuts:
Holly Lantern
Winnie Wings
Winnie White Christmas Big Kahuna Bundle
Snowflake (Flower) dies from Horace and Boo Floral Foliage

Stash Embellishments:
Twine
Ink
Gems
White gel pen
Stickles

This sweet little Christmas Fairy and her pup are off to the sprinkle some holiday magic at the following challenges:

Creatalicious:  Fairytales
Brown Sugar:  Fairies and Fantasy
C.R.A.F.T.:  Christmas

Fav Colors....

The new theme for the Cut It Up challenge is Favorite Colors!  I love blues and browns together.  For this project I chose to go with denim blue and brown for my Miniature Christmas Photo Album.

This little album celebrates my daughter's 5 Christmases with her husband and Lucy...and now Cass!

Our challenge is sponsored by Ink on 3 and the Pansy Tea SVG Kit has a perfect little purse that made a great album cover.  I made a few modifications.  I chose to make it a little more rustic/country so I used the reindeer in lieu of a bow and added metal studs to the straps.  I cut a second set of pieces for the back since my reindeer would have been upside down after folding it.  Finally, I enclosed a magnet closure between layers.

The pattern papers are also from Ink on 3Christmas Memories and Snowflake and Stripes (currently free!)  These come in black and white, but are easily made brown with a little computer magic!  The brown cardstocks are DCWV.

Sending a little holiday cheer to the following challenges:

Foil meets Polkadoodles!

It's a new challenge over at Digi Choosday and we are sharing Summer Holidays projects this week.  Our Challenges are always Anything Goes for all of your wonderful entries!

Add caption
Now, this music theme card might seem a bit odd for Summer Holidays, but our Summer family holidays were always spent at concerts!  It seems someone was always at a music festival or camp over the summer.  Then after college, we were all playing somewhere!

I started with the trumpet from Work & Play 8 Feel the Music and imported that digi into my Design Space program.  I did add a couple of very thin lines to include the circle in the 'pinky ring' as well as one on each end of the trumpet to make the stencil work correctly.   If you need some direction in cutting a stencil from a digi, check out this VIDEO.

Once the stencil was done, I cut it from acetate alternative and printed the background paper.  Now, again I got a bit creative and grabbed the lined paper from Winnie Wonderland or Winnie in Wonderland Big Kahuna Bundle.  Then I added the music paper from Feel the Music over the top as an overlay before printing it.  (It's the digital form of stamping those music lines right over the paper!  How fun is that!!)  I then added the "jazz" sentiment also from Feel the Music.

The red background paper is from Halloween Trick or Treat Papers or the adorable Winnie Wednesday Bundle.

As for the foiling, I used my trumpet stencil to add Deco Foil Transfer Gel to the printed card.  I let that dry over night; it takes about an hour or so for it to turn clear.  Then simply lay the foil over the gel, place it on a piece of cardstock sandwiched in parchment paper, and run it through a laminator.  ...and look...something shiny!  ;)

A few little gems & ink and it's done!
