Scream for Ice Cream!

Our new challenge over at Cut It Up is Scream for Ice Cream!.  Come share your interpretation of this theme and don't forget the die cut!

I chose to use this delightful sentiment from Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  I'm a huge Peanuts fan, so this Schultz quote from the Ice Cream Sentiment Set was perfect!  I wanted the sentiment to be the star of this card, so I framed it and added some ice cream cones.  Well....I added lots of ice cream if you include this fun paper from the Taste of Summer collection!

Ok, off to have some ice cream since it's in the 90's here and I've been working in the barn most of the day!

Backgrounds and Die Cuts

Our new challenge over at Cut It Up is Create Your Own Background Paper.  Come share your interpretation of this theme and don't forget the die cut!

I started with my box pattern from My Scrap Chick and cut that on the Cricut.  After that I found some fun stamps I hadn't used in a while.  I stamped in my large background stamp in a light Champagne color and then went to the large flowers in a darker brown (chocolate).  I then moved on to the smaller stamps in brighter colors.

Once the stamping was done, I colored the large flowers with my copic markers.  I assembled the box and tied it with some twine.  I cut the flower and added a circle.  I heat embossed the circle using darker brown/bronze powder from my stash.  I cut a strip to make a band around the box.  However, the pattern does come with a scored band, I just chose to cut one with a paper cutter since I didn't want it as wide.

Such a fun project to make with my very own designer paper!  😉

Coloring/Quotes Journal

It's time for a new challenge over at
The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and the optional twist is:

I enjoy journaling and actually have several different journals of different sizes for my thoughts.  I make them myself using a Cinch machine and my base pages in this particular journal are made from cereal boxes.

This particular journal houses cowboy thinking, Native American philosophy, horse quotes, western motif, etc.  Examples below:

Pages in this journal measure 5" x 7.25"

This particular layout features a beautiful page from Fabrika Fantasy.  My oh my, are the pages there beautiful!  If you enjoy coloring, you are sure to find images there you will love.  This page, Forest Witch with Her Fox Familiar, is from the coloring book titled Ancient SagasI printed the page and colored this scene with Copic markers, pencils, and gel pens.  (Now, I put in red how I printed the page because they do sell books with the images in it.  I chose to print.)  This particular image is currently free to download; scroll to bottom of page.

These are the sort of pages I could spend hours coloring!  So many ideas and variations.  One could print this image multiple times and come up with something very different every time!  Fabrika Fantasy also offers a digi club.
