Thanksgiving's in the Bag!

Our new challenge over at Cut It Up is Happy Thanksgiving - Make a Thanksgiving themed box or bag! Of course you need to remember your die cut, also!  Come share your interpretation of this theme and don't forget the die cut!

I chose to make a little square bag!  I really enjoy making this bag cut from
CTMH Art Philosophy and I have to admit, it is my 'go to' bag!  I have made it several times and have altered it to different dimensions and put different handles on it!

Fall Fun

Welcome to my blog!  Today, I'm having some fun fall coloring time over here!  I put together some scraps and this adorable image from All Dressed Up for an autumnal card.

Leaves are changing here and many have fallen from the trees.  Luther, my GSD, and I collect leaves when we are out on walks.  He's such a handsome guy, I had to share a recent photo!

As for the card, not much to say.  I colored up the image with Copic markers.  The background piece is a scrap piece from Polkadoodles.  I stamped over it with a couple of retired stamps from CTMH.
I added some blue burlap, lace, and ribbon for some texture and to bring out the blue dress!  The sky is technique done with blue ink and cheesecloth!

...and relax

As we continue along the way at Path of Positivity, we are celebrating Girl Power: women's empowerment, strength, confidence, independence, etc.

I truly think quiet strength is extremely underrated in our society.  It seems the bigger the show, the more power someone has.  However, the truth is we show the most strength and empowerment when we are quiet and simply get the job done without a lot of fanfare and hoopla!

I look at barrel racers for example.  The racers with the best times are those who have the most uneventful (boring) rides!  Same goes with most of the equestrian events.  The perfect patterns go to the teams working together with the quiet controlled inner strength and confidence.

I know a firefighter who teaches the new cadets; one of the first thing he tells them is this, "Slow is correct.  Correct is fast.  Slow and thinking = fast."  That is the sort of emergency responder I want acting on my behalf!

It is my goal to try to show inner strength, confidence, and power through thoughtful and peaceful interactions.  It really is harder for me to slow down, be calm and peaceful, and then move forward; so it will show real strength and power if I can do it!  ;)

Come share your ideas of this theme at Path of Positivity!

She Has a Spell of Her Own

2020 has been full of challenges, confusion, and sorrow for many.  Our family has been lucky and although we have had many challenges, we have also been spared much grief.

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer this year just as the pandemic was hitting our area.  We got her surgery in just under the wire so I could be at the hospital with her the day she was in surgery.

Mom came through as if she had a magic spell over her cancer!  She was up and about within days and never let it get her down.  So, I wanted to send her this card to remind her just how strong she really is in body, spirit, and faith!

Nurtured Growth

As we continue along the way at Path of Positivity, we are celebrating women's empowerment, independence, confidence and strength.

I decided it was time to add another page to my journal.  I've had so much fun this summer with my little grand-girl watching her grow and have fun developing new interests and practicing skills.  I love seeing the world through her 4 year old eyes.  Anything that flowers is indeed a flower!  Pretty rocks are jewels and should be cherished as such!  Any small improvement is celebrated as if we had climbed the highest mountain!  And best of all, quiet moments that seem to have little meaning are the most meaningful because she sees meaning in singing birds, running horses, scampering squirrels, ants moving dirt, a dog sitting on her command, etc.

When I saw this image for All Dressed Up, I couldn't help but see the pride and confidence in this little gardener!  It made me think about how we all grow with these traits when we are nurtured with positive attitudes, respect, and love.

Come share your ideas on this theme at Path of Positivity!
