Home in the Country!

I just adore the 'country girl' who adorns this page!  She is like a 2nd daughter to me.  She works with me in my therapeutic horsemanship program, was in my daughter's wedding, and basically grew up with my kids!  I'm going to frame this layout and give it to her.

I was inspired by the picture to use CTMH Gypsy colored flowers.  Now the fun thing about these flowers are they are really the rowel off of the spurs from the Cricut cartridge Old West.  The horseshoe and barbed wire are also from that cartridge.

The paper is from CTMH Wanderful.  There is also a banner cut from CTMH Seaside.  Ink colors include:  Gypsy, Sweet Leaf, Honey, Saddle, Slate, Chocolate and Indian Corn Blue.  Stamps sets include:  Universal Backgrounds, Sweet and Lovely, Scandinavian Wishes, Genuine Country, Remarkable Wreath, Kudos and Family is Forever.

Cricut cartridges include:  Old West, Art Philosophy, Ornamental Iron 2, and Pretty Pennants.
My country girl is headed off to these challenges:

613 Avenue Create:  Anything Goes
Scrap Our Stash:  WASHI  Ok, there's no washi tape, but here is the breakdown:  Wanderful paper, Art Philosophy cuts, Stamps and Seaside paper, Hat and Heart, Inks.
Heart 2 Heart:  Home is Where the Heart Is and every country girl will tell you, her heart is in the country!

Now this is also my 1/20 for the February Scrapbooking Layout Challenge on Facebook:  The challenge is to complete 20 layouts during February.  This is a closed group; however, I think anyone who enjoys scrapping can join!  Hey, they accepted me!  ; )

If you are interested in the products I used, you can head over to my daughter's site (KatiesCorner) to do some shopping!  There is a promotion on the scrapbooks this month.  I ordered a couple yesterday and can't wait to see them.

Thanks for visiting!

  4. love all the texture and small bits and pieces that you used and I also love that you used purple; it's so underused in scrapping! Beautiful! Kate (SOS)

  13. I like your take on the challenge! Your work is beautiful. And framing pages are a great way to include someone in our hobby who doesn't also scrapbook or keep an album. Thanks for inspiring us at Heart 2 Heart Challenges. -- Cynthia
