Surrounded by Equine Art

Well, it's mid-month and we are continuing Surround Yourself with ART over at Path of Positivity!  If you missed my post at the beginning of the month, you can see it HERE.  The idea is to share how you are inspired by art ~ art of any form!  Anything from the great masters to comic strips!  What sort of art inspires you in a positive way?

I mentioned in my earlier post one way to answer that question is to look around your house.  That's exactly what I did.  Now in addition to angels and victorian children, I have some horsey pieces.  Imagine that...someone with a blog called ScrappyHorses has horses represented in art, photographs, knick-knacks, framed scrapbook layouts, etc!

Here are a few pieces I enjoy seeing every day:

So yes, the horses, blacksmiths, cowboys, etc live amongst the Victorian children and the angels!  Eclectic or eccentric?  You can decide that!  ; )

As for my project this month, I chose to go with that adorable Bugaboo Cowgirl meeting up with an unexpected equine!  That magical Unicorn is also from Bugaboo.  I created these pages for an Art Journal featuring famous equine/horse quotes.

I Copic colored the digi's, corner-stamped,added stars and ink-sponged the grass and sky.  To add some sparkle, I added gems to the flowers, glitter paste to the belt buckle, and gel pens & gold shimmer to the mane and tail.

That wonderful quote is from Lewis Carroll's book, Through the Looking Glass.  I love the way the unicorn is looking at this cowgirl and she is "blank-faced" and standing somewhat frozen!

My pages are off to the following challenges:

Jo's Scrap Shack:  AG
Catch the Bug:  BINGO ~Sentiment/Sparkle/Bugaboo

Our challenge is sponsored this month by LunaGirl
and Bugaboo Stamps!

Thanks for stopping by; PoP on over to the challenge (where you can learn more about our theme and sponsors) to see what the rest of the team is doing and share with us your thoughts, art, and inspirations!  Our themes are optional now, so we'd love to see anything positive you've been working on even if it doesn't exactly fit the theme.
