Hey, that's not how you're supposed to use that!

Ok, when I saw the theme ~ Use Something NOT for its intended purpose ~ for this week's DT project at Digi Choosday, I went all out to prove you can take Polkadoodles goodies in a very different direction!

Now, you are saying, "But if you use a digi, don't you have to color it or use a Pre-Colored digi."  I say, "Not if you think outside the arena...I mean "proverbial box" and go with the NOT intended purpose!"  😉

I started with the digi Horse Riding and turned her into a "silhouette stamp."  I used a tag cut to make a stencil for my inking.  Finally, I combined sentiments from two different sets to make the perfect sentiment for my card.

A little oboe reed thread ~ again not for its intended use ~ and some navy seam binding from sewing stash and my rider is ready to venture off on a 'Beautiful Life!'

This is what I love about Polkadoodles Digital Crafting:  the possibilities to creativity are endless!  You can whip up a card in an instant with PRE-COLORED backgrounds, design sheets, and digis or you can print and then color, paint, ink or decoupage!  You can stay all digital or you can get out all your ribbons, gems, pearls, and fabrics.  Of course, you can combine all the above!

You can find the beautiful Polkadoodles goodies I used by clicking the links:

'Beautiful' from Lil Miss Sugarpops Quotes/Sentiments
'Life' from Winnie Special Moments Quotes
Background: Distressed Wood
Stamp Digi:  Horse Riding
Mask cut from Winnie in Wonderland Tags

Curious how I made this happen?  Check out the video below!

Fav Colors in the Old West

As we journey through the colors over at the Path of Positivity we have come to the best month of all...My Favorite Color!  ...and since it is mid-month, it is time to share my monthly tag in my series!

As I explained earlier in the month, I'm not so sure I have a favorite color as much as I have a favorite color combination ~ blues and browns..then add a touch of gold/bronze and I'm in color heaven!  This tag is an example of using the colors in the Western Horse World.

I have used one of the beautiful PRE-Colored pics from the the LunaGirl Dominoes Cowgirls and Cowboys Digital Collage Sheet.  This sheet is full of beautiful images of the horses and their handlers!

Sneak Peek to future project!
I'm so enamored with this set of images, I'm currently working on 2 other pieces, and I'll give you a sneak peek of one (see photo on right.)  You'll have to keep an eye on my blog to see how it will be used in the finished project!

Dogs or Cats?

The new theme for the Cut It Up challenge is Dogs or Cats!  So, who will be more popular?  I must say, this was a tough one for me since I love them both!  I went with a dog since I was making some "doggy" wall hanging projects for our veterinarian's new clinic!

Our Challenge is sponsored by Newton's Nook...who better to sponsor a challenge for Cats and Dogs!!  😉

This adorable little dog cut is from Close to My Heart Artistry.  The paper and sentiment are from Polkadoodles.

Ribbon and puffy hearts were all from my stash.

This little guy will be visiting the following challenges:

Seeing Double...Embossing that is!

Time for a new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and the twist for our anything goes challenge is Double Embossing.

I double embossed the trim on my bag by running a strip of paper through an M-Bossabilities flower folder.  I then swiped the raised portions over cranberry (to match the paper) pigment ink, sprinkled with Ranger Enchanted Gold Powder, and heat embossed.  This powder has some sparkle to it.

This adorable image is Little Patch Puppy from All Dressed Up.  He makes for a sweet little gift bag!  A little coloring, a few sequins, and this is ready for something fun!

Be sure to visit
The Outlawz Twisted Thursday for all the details about the challenge and to check out all beautiful inspiration from the DT and participants!

My Fav Colors?

As we journey through the colors over at the Path of Positivity we have come to the best month of all...My Favorite Color!  Yes, it's true!!  We get to create using our favorite color and explain a little about it.

I'm not so sure I have a favorite color as much as I have a favorite color combination ~ blues and browns..then add a touch of gold/bronze and I'm in color heaven!  I'm just so enamored with the this combo and I suppose it is the color of the Western Horse World, so I'm sure that is the influence involved here.

Now, I'll admit, I also love Cornflower Blue.  You know the color of the cornflower growing by the fields in mid-July here in the Midwest US.  Denim blue is also a favorite...go figure!  hee hee  My favorite stones:  opal, blue sapphire, and some turquoise.  I also love stoneware and crockery in beiges and blues!

I chose to go with a peaceful, yet magical journal page starring the sweet image, Morpheus, from SheepSki Designs.

Be sure to come on over to Path of Positivity and see what the team thinks about pastels!  You can also find more information about entering the challenge!  Thanks to our wonderful sponsors this month: SheepSki Designs and Lunagirl.

All That Glitters is Gold

It's a new challenge over at Digi Choosday and we are sharing projects with embossing this week.  Our Challenges are always Anything Goes for all of your wonderful entries!

I have paired Heart on Your Sleeve (Copic colored) with the gorgeous papers, ephemera, and embellishments in the Belle Papillon Collection for my Art Journaling '70's Music Pages.

I have a slide out tag I have embossed with a folder.  I then rubbed over the raised embossing with Versa Mark and heat embossed with gold powder.  The edges of the pages are also heat embossed as well as the steps.
