Sunflowers

Conie Fong has digis for any reason/occasion.  I find sympathy cards difficult, but flowers and nature always seem to be a fitting theme.  I chose to use this sunflower from Sunflower In a Pot.  I colored these lovely flowers using fall tones making my white highlights more of a tan.

Be sure to visit the the Conie Fong FB Page for challenges and images:  Conie Fong FaceBook Challenge.  There are different challenges: one for coloring and one for completed projects!

Material List:

Digi Image/stamp and sentiment: Sunflower n a Pot from Conie Fong
Cardstock CTMH
Copic Markers
Cricut Print and Cut

I'm sending this off to the following challenges:

Double "D" Challenges:  Sunflowers
Addicted to Stamps and More:  Make Your Mark

Book

As we meander a Path of Positivity, we are challenging you to Fall Into a Book!  Yes, that's right!  This month we want you to design a project influenced by a BOOK or STORY. Getting lost in a great book/story/poetry is a wonderful way to relax and find some positivity!

Now, I'll be the first to admit I'm not much of a reader of fiction, but I do like non fiction!  I have quite a collection of Equine Science, Horsekeeping, Riding, ....well, horse anything books!  I coached our county's 4-H Hippology Team for 5 years and added quite a few books to my already full shelves!  I thought it might be fun to art journal some of my favorite books by adhering copies of the covers in and adding some interesting notes along with the wonderful digi from Ike's Art!

This digi is called Demon Horses.  I assume it's supposed to be somewhat scary or horror, but for me it looks 'sciency' like some of the pics in my books!  So it's perfect for my page!

*   *   *

We'd like to hear your ideas at Path of Positivity.  Come share them with us!

Remember, you may share any sort of artistic medium over at PoP:  writing, cards, journals, scrapbooking, painting, sewing, baking, needle crafts, etc as long as it is positive!  The theme is always optional.

Thank You, CIU Sponors!

We do love our sponsors and we are excited to share some cards we recently mailed to them.  We all chose sponsors from the past year and created cards for them using their unique designs!

I was pleased to have the opportunity to share our appreciation with four sponsors: Hetty Clare, DRS Designs, Oddball Art Co, and Newton's Nook.  Each of these sponsors is such a joy and always inspires me to create something fun and exciting!

I'll start with this card I sent to Hetty Clare!   It features this handsome fellow called Pony Flower!  Leaf paper is from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles and the sentiment cut is from the Cricut Design Space Library!

Next, I'm sharing this more rugged type card I sent to DRS Designs.  I used the Cowboy Silhouette.  The sentiment was created in Design Space using font from Old West.  Stars were cut in the front and backed with scraps of Cracked Glass iDeco Foil and I inked the front with CTMH inks.

Next Oddball Art Co!  This fun digi stamp is from CCC#132 Cozy and Thankful Digi Stamp.  The paper is from A Bit More Time to Craft and is called Star Splash Mixed Media.  I finished it off with some embroidery floss, black cardstock, and some glitter stars cut on my Cricut!

...and now my card to Newton's Nook!  This fun stamp set is Newton Loves Coffee!  This stamp set gets a LOT of use at my house!  I have used only a portion of the stamps here to create this thank you!  The Thank You sentiment is a free digi stamp from Newtons Nook and I cut this and the layering dies using the Offset feature in Cricut Design Space!

Be sure to visit Cut It Up and see all the wonderful cards from the team and celebrate our many sponsors!

Again, a huge thank you to all our sponsors this year!  We are excited to work with the amazing and talented people behind the beautiful papers, cuts, and digis!  It is truly our pleasure!

Thanks for stopping by!  Make yourself at home and feel free to peruse other posts/pages, leave a comment, and/or check out my Pinterest and YouTube Channel.

Flowers for Algernon at PoP

As we meander a Path of Positivity, we are challenging you to Fall Into a Book!  Yes, that's right!  This month we want you to design a project influenced by a BOOK or STORY. Getting lost in a great book/story/poetry is a wonderful way to relax and find some positivity!

My journal page is a memory of a wonderful book I read in MS/HS called Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes.  It is a thought provoking read about a young man, Charlie, with an IQ lower than average who meets up with a Dr/Scientist who makes him a genius for a short time.

Algernon is the lab mouse who received the drug before Charlie.  Algernon's progression and regression basically predicts Charlie's future outcomes.

This book has always had a profound effect on my thinking, so this challenge seemed the perfect time to journal it.
