Creating an Unexpected Design ~ Personal Mood Board

As we meander a Path of Positivity, we are challenging you to Embrace The Unexpected. Of course, you can share anything positive you like, the theme is always optional.

Remember, you may share any sort of artistic medium over at PoP:  writing, cards, journals, scrapbooking, painting, sewing, baking, needle crafts, etc as long as it is positive.  The theme is always optional.

This month we are making an unexpected design.  Be sure to visit Path of Positivity for a description of this!  It's an interesting one!!

I gathered bits and pieces of my favorite ribbons, fabrics, colors, embellishments and put them all together.  I came up with a sort of mood board to hang in my room.  I can refer to this when I'm stuck or I can simply enjoy it!

Trying the Unexpected Through Decluttering!

This month we are creating something unexpected through decluttering!

As I was looking through and making an attempt at some cleaning, I stumbled upon my colored pencils and decided to try some pencil work and stamping in my journal.  I usually turn to my Copic markers and Cricut dies for my creating, so this is a bit different for me.  I don't have a large selection of pencils, but I do have a few; so, I decided to give it a go on this older Gorguss Girl Stamp.  This cute stamp was hidden away with some other stamps!

I also went with a different paper than I would normally choose.  I grabbed some Mead Academie Sketch Paper I found while organizing some paper.

My last unexpected item I found in my craft room is my Spirograph toy!  Yes, I loved this as a kid and have one for my grandgirl, so I decided to get that out for my background!

Now, as for the little embellishments, they were all in stacked ice cream lids where I store "extras" for the future.  Of course, they usually sit there unused, but not this time!  Same goes for the Washi Tape!

I also found lots of adhesive I never use, so I got it out for my journal page.

Anything Goes...but no cards!

Time for a new challenge at The Outlawz Anything Goes in a Card Free Zone and the optional theme is... Anything Goes!

I have chosen to go with a bedding ensemble for a 14 1/2 inch doll.

I started with a foam mattress and pillow; the foam was cut from packaging.  I sewed a pillow case for the pillow.  For the mattress, I simply wrapped and fabric glued the fabric around the foam as if I were wrapping a gift.

The sheet is white fabric with all sides machine hemmed.

The comforter is double-sided:  white felt/heart motif cotton with lace.

 Material List:

3-D Printed Bed Frame and Dresser ( I take no credit for this part!)
Heart Fabric from Stash
White Fabric from Stash
Lace from Stash
Thread from Stash
Foam from Packaging for pillow and mattress
