I love the Picasso quote.....I guess you could say I'm stuck on it...or rather it's stuck on my card!

I'll start with my sticker since it's all about that this time!  It is from the CTMH Brushed Collection.

This shaker card was made using my new We R Memory Keepers fuse tool.  I sort of love this tool so far.  With this tool, I could create the shaker card without dimensional tape.  No lining up the tape and making sure there were no escape holes for the glitter and sequins!  Yay!  Simply cut the pouch, fill it, and roll the tool over the open sides to seal.  Then, adhere it in!  Fast and easy!

My die pieces were cut in DS on the Cricut.

Monochromatic Summer Fun!

 Wow, I had three wonderful challenges inspiring this LO!  My summery themed die cut idea came from Stuck On U Summer Die Cut Challenge.

I used the sketch from Scrap Our Stash Challenge.  Now there is a twist to that challenge; you need to use your scraps to make a card!  So to the right you see the card I made with the left over paper, sequins, washi tape and a bubble theme background.

My colors came from Color My Heart where the color theme is monochromatic!  I chose to go with Blue/Green colors such as Twilight, Lagoon, Crystal Blue.

I'm also sending this off to 613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes with optional twist Summer (See Site for more details and chart!)

Here's the breakdown--

Cricut Die Cuts:  Kate's ABCs, A Child's First Year; I made the bubble wand by slicing a circle within a circle and welding that to a long skinny rectangle.  I covered it in Liquid Glass to make it shiny!

CTMH Inks/paint:  Twilight, Crystal Blue, Create a Shade Paint (retired)  The shine on the bubbles comes from mixing the paint with re-inker and a little bit of alcohol.  Paint it over and let it dry.  I added the white with an opaque paint marker.

CTMH CS:  Daisy White, Crystal Blue, Twilight

CTMH Embellishments:  Lagoon Washi Tape, Aqua Dots, Oceanside Sequins, Twine

Other:  Sewing thread and machine, Adhesives, 3-D tape, White Sequins from Latina Crafter, Express Yourself white paint marker, embossing folders (card) Cuttlebug and M-Bossabilities

Graduation!

I have been into shaker cards lately!  I made one almost a year ago and didn't do another one until very recently; now I seem to be addicted!

Anyway, this design made for a fun graduation card.  I found the cap in DS from Spring Holiday.  I copy pasted and did some slicing to make a duplicate shape minus the tassel.  I downsized it and sliced that shape inside the original cap to give me a window.

I filled my space with red sequins and silver stars from Spare Parts and then sprinkled in some Bead Basics Bead Seeds (found in the jewelry making section of the crafts).

My background was embossed with a paisley folder and rubbed over with Cranberry ink.

I finished it off with some CTMH Gems and Shimmer Tape; the sentiment is from the CTMH Just to Say stamp set.

My card is off to Sentimental Sundays where the theme is You Did It / Graduation.

Father's Day for My Dad!

My dad was an amateur astronomer.  He actually built his own observatory where he had a really cool telescope with a roof that slid off with a garage door opener!

When I saw this paper from CTMH, I knew I wanted to do something with it for Dad......what better than a Father's Day card?

Oh Happy Day!

Isn't it such a happy day when you find a yummy cup of cocoa/coffee/tea and a great book?!  Even better, isn't it a really happy day when you see a child enjoying a book?!  For me, that is one of the happiest times.  

I love watching children read and learn.  That look when they figure out the word, find the answer, or simply read the punch line is priceless!  I've watched this little one enjoy stories read by her family and now I have the joy of seeing her learn to read.  Yes, there are struggles over those "cheater" words, but there is so much happiness when the word finally comes to light!

Lu's favorite stories usually include dragons, kings, castles and all the other mystical fun of fairy tales.  The quote in my LO by Gaiman is "Fairy tales are more than true; not because they tell us dragons exist, but because they tell us dragons can be beaten!"  What a fun and uplifting sentiment for readers of all ages.

Where else can a little girl find so much adventure, beauty and fun?

COFFEE

 This card was so fun to make!  I was inspired last week by the Coffee Lovers Bloghop and now I'm addicted to coffee cards.  While I was hopping around and checking out the cards, I ran across Latina Crafter.  Her store is full of great crafting supplies!

In addition to the wonderful items in the store, she is having a bloghop this week to celebrate the 4th anniversary!  So, check that out and play along; there are many ways to win great prizes!

I love the stencils I bought from Latina Crafter; they are great quality and so fun to use.  I started with a piece of Kraft paper and stenciled the coffee cups using Prima Color Bloom Tea Stain.

Once that was dry, I put the coffee bean stencil on and sprayed it with Bronze Bo Bunny Mist.

Now the really cool thing about this is, when direct light hits it you see the coffee cups like in picture one.  When it's more shaded, the beans show up! (see Pic 2)  Isn't that too fun!

Ok, so in the coffee stencil pack you get 4 stencils: the cups, beans, coffee ring stains and the words coffee/cafe.  I used the last stencil to make the word on a piece of ribbon I had.  I used Bo Bunny Copper Glitter paste over the stencil.  It worked beautifully!  I also used the ring stains with some ink and that worked also.  Can you tell I love my new stencil!

My cup was cut from Cricut Fast Food and Love You Alatte cartridges.  My cup sleeve was embossed using a CTMH striped folder.  Chevron folder is also CTMH.  Papers were all CTMH except the cup and it is DCWV.

I received some other goodies from Latina Crafter and I'll be using them soon!

Stars and Stripes

Sometimes I like to make something just for the fun of it.  I may not have an intended use/place for it or a recipient in mind, but the urge hits to do something different.  When I saw the theme for this week's challenge over at Cut It Up, I was inspired and went with it.

I started by masking off my canvas.  I used gelatos coloring in every other stripe.  I also used gelatos on the star portion.  I then used metallic pant mixed with re-inker and painted over the stripes to give them the weathered/faded appearance.  I used a baby wipe to apply different shade of blue ink to the star portion.

I actually applied the stars before adding
the paint to the stripes.  

I applied the stars using a stencil cut from Artbooking.  I taped it down with washi tape and applied the Texture Paste.  Once it was dry I sprinkled course white glitter over that portion.

The running horses were cut from black vinyl in Design Space; the images were from Old West and Iron On Horse-3 in DS.  The title was cut from blue vinyl and that image is from Graphically Speaking.

I finished the canvas by spraying the entire piece with Tea Stain Color Bloom Spray Mist by Prima.

Moolatte! Yes, please!

I have been so inspired by the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop I had to make another card, this time with a Moolatte!  My favorite flavor is the Vanilla, but I also enjoy the Mocha!  

I had a lot of fun with this card.  I started with a Canary card.  I adhered Hopscotch from CTMH; I think it has a very summery feel to it.  My next layer started with Colonial white CS.  I put some patches of Honey ink and then stamped using pigment with the circle word stamp from My Sunshine.  I then sprinkled with embossing powder and heat set.  Then I sprayed around the card with teal mist.

My shaker Moolatte is made from DCWV card stocks.  The whipped topping is Colonial white outlined with a Copic.  Then I used spray adhesive and set off the glitter bomb!  hahaha

The straw is from Hopscotch paper and inked in Sunset and topped with a coat of Liquid Glass.

My coffee ingredients are Retired Mocha gems and white glitter colored with Chocolate Re-inker.  I put the coarse glitter on my craft mat and put a few drops of ink on it.  I mixed it up and then spread it out to dry.

That sentiment is from the CTMH Cricut Bundle stamp set My Life stamped in Honey and Sunset.  A few more Mocha gems and a little Sunset Baker's Twine and it's ready to refresh someone!  

Speaking of refreshment, I think I'm off to DQ for a Coffee Moolatte!  Yay!  Gotta' love summertime!

Today I stumbled upon Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  Let me tell you that was a treat!  I was inspired by so many different ideas, I had trouble narrowing down my thoughts!  We all know what that means,,,,, I'll be making another coffee card very soon!  

Along the hop I ran across Newton's Nook Designs.  I looked at the picture and went with those colors; I just noticed the colors were written out in the description:  coral, peach and mint.  Oops, well, I'll share it anyway!  The sentiment is from Newton's Nook, also!  It's free there.  Be sure to check them out!

Sentimental Sundays theme is Mocha, Tea and Latte!  Now how fun is that?  So, my card is heading off in that direction, also!  613 Avenue Create is always Anything Goes with optional twists; we can always play there!

Heart 2 Heart started their month with Warm vs Cool.  I chose warm!  Nothing like hot coffee; although, I rather like an icy white chocolate frappuccino on a hot day!  Again, I might just have to make another coffee card!  ; )

Father's Day!

Over at Cut It Up, we're celebrating fathers with tie die cuts ----not to be confused with tie dye cuts!  hahahaha  Of course, you could make a tie dye tie die cut!  Ok, let's get away from my bad puns on homonyms and homographs and get back to the matter at hand.

I found this card on Cricut Design Space; it is called Father's Day Card -- Sunday's Best.

This is one simple card to make and it's really quite versatile!  I'm actually planning to use this card for a masculine congratulations card and not a Father's Day card.  (My dad isn't really the suit and tie kind of guy anymore.)  I think this card would be perfect for groomsmen, graduates, new jobs, etc as well as Father's Day.

This is an ideal last minute card; all you need to do is cut it and line it.  I did add the black triangles over the folded edge to make the shirt collar points black.

I chose CTMH fundamentals cardstock;  I used the same on the inside but changed the color by rubbing some black archival ink over it.  The pattern resists and the effect is really fun!  My congratulations stamp is from CTMH The Happy Couple.

Graduation Thank You's

Just a quick post to share an idea I had for graduation thank you cards for my son to send out.  He graduated a couple of weeks ago from Purdue.  These are quick and easy and since Purdue's colors are Black and Gold it worked for the color challenge over at Color My Heart:  Black, White, and Gold/Flaxen.  

I started by taking a picture of his stole, cap & tassel, diploma and his pic.  I noticed there was a blank space in the bottom right hand corner.  This was a great place to use the Stamp of the Month Typed Note.  I'd like to say I planned that, but .......

I left a white border on the picture and backed it with a Flaxen diagonal. 

The inside is white with some black shimmer trim.  I told you they were quick!

All About the Dress!

I first made this card as a thank you card designed for the lovely woman who was so helpful in finding just the right dress for my daughter's wedding!  (See pic at the end of post.)  She was married a couple of years ago, but when I saw the challenge at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie, I had to make it again with some variation!

My son's friend is getting married in a country style wedding in a barn.  I chose to use the bride's colors and went with a bit of a rustic motif for a wedding card.  This card style could be used as thank you's for bridesmaids or shower cards, also!
