World Hello Day!

The new theme for the Cut It Up challenge is World Hello Day!  Don't forget your die cuts!!

I started with this precious image, Balloon Dreams, from A Day for Daisies!  Isn't she just adorable?  In the actual image she has one balloon, but I added more to make my "HELLO" sentiment.

I copic colored the image and added the balloons and strings.  The background paper is from Whimsy and the rest of the papers are retired from CTMH.

Die Cuts include:
Balloon Cuts from A Child's Year
Red Feather from Bits and Pieces
Gold Feather from Bohemian Wedding
Turquoise Feather and *Diamond Border from Southwest

*Side note on the Border from Southwest....I used 13 of the 14 pieces of that border!  There is a little bit of gluing involved here and if you make it small like this for a card, have your tweezers and cheaters (reading glasses) ready!  hee hee

This card was finished off with some burlap, twine, and turquoise colored gems.

Thanks so much to Tammy at A Day for Daisies for sponsoring us this challenge.

My layout is off to the following challenges:

In the night sky... oh, what did I see?

In the night sky....."what to my wondering eyes did appear?" The Digi Choosday Team is sharing "In the night sky" this week.  Of course, it's always Anything Goes for all of your entries; so come join us for a chance to win some Polkadoodles digis!

I have combined a few collections and techniques for this card.  I started in Design Space and combined the following pieces:
Santa Gifts DigiWinnie White Christmas
Reindeer from:  Winnie Winterland Digis
Paper for Roof:  Winnie White Christmas
Paper for Chimney:  Little Dudes Rocket Car
Believe sentiment:  Winnie White Christmas

Moon and chimney cuts were simply made from a circle and rectangles.

I continued with a print and cut in Design Space and then cut a separate mask of all the pieces except the background.  I placed the mask over the printed card and airbrushed the dark blue sky using a Copic.  I then Copic colored the images:  Winnie, reindeer and a separate bag of gifts to put over the chimney on 3-D foam tape.

I finished the card with some red Stickles on the holly, a silver gel pen, a white gel pen, and some glitter glue on the wings.

This bear is to "die(cut) for"!

It's time for new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and our optional twist is Plaid!

This month we are showing our gratitude to all of our sponsors throughout 2018 in a Sponsor Showcase Month.  You will see us highlighting some of our favorite digis from our generous sponsors.

This week I have the privilege of working with goodies from Polkadoodles!

This bag highlights the adorable Beary Cute Great Outdoors Die Set.  Although we usually show off cute digis from Polkadoodles, I thought it would be fun to share dies and some of the paper collections!

I cut this cutie from Great Outdoors A5 Paper Pack and Die Cutting Essentials Fur/Hair/Skin Pack from Polkadoodles.  The box itself was cut from plaid paper from Little Dude Footbal/Rugby digi download and the bear's bow was cut from Work & Play 9, also a digital collection.  The box and bow were cut on my Cricut with box cut from CTMH Artiste.  I used an embossing folder in perpendicular directions to make an embossed plaid on his bow!

I finished this cute bear off with 2 gems to make eyes, some twine and jingle bells!

Green: Woodland Santa

As we continue the journey through the colors over at the Path of Positivity we have come to the Greens.  I can't help but think of trees and Christmas when I think of green.  Cutting down a Christmas tree in the woods is such a romantic notion to me - especially since I could never have a real tree in the house due to all my allergies and such!  The thought of being out amongst the beautiful evergreens with Santa and deer...well, that is just such a festive notion!

This delightful Copic colored digi, Woodland Santa, from Scribbles Designs makes for the perfect tag in my 2018 color journal!

I have combined papers from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles Holiday Hoopla and Polkadoodles Winnie White Christmas with the following Cricut cuts:  Old West, Bits and Pieces, and Winter Woodland.  My embellishments include:  burlap, ribbons, glass gems, seam binding, and jingle bells.

This Santa will be visiting the following challenges:

Thanksgiving Recipe!

The new theme for the Cut It Up challenge should get you in the Thanksgiving mood with a recipe!  Here it is:  Use fall colors, fibers/fabrics, and gems in your project! Don't forget your die cuts!!

I haven't made a layout for a long time and decided this would be the perfect recipe for the photo of my little grand-girl playing in the leaves!

The layout began with a 12 x 12 sheet of fall floral paper.  I thought the oranges, greens, and dark reds would be perfect for fall colors!  The next layer is dark red to match her sweatshirt.  The yellow/orange background was already textured/printed; however, I did do some stamping with a fall floral stamp.

The leaves were all cut from various shades of green, gold, and brown paper.  I chose to emboss some of the leaves to give them texture.  The fabric/fiber is strip of burlap and I also included a distressed ribbon along the left side of the photo.

This layout was finished off with some gems, a journaling card, bow, a title, and date.

The embellishments include the following:  Bo Bunny Double Dot Gems, Retired CTMH brown gems, burlap ribbon, floral ribbon, Polkadoodles Sugarpops Journaling Card, numbers/letters from Polkadoodles Sticks and Bones.

Papers include:  Polkadoodles Winnie Starfish and Sandcastles, Polkadoodles Sticks and Bones, Polkadoodles Trick or Treat, Retired CTMH, DCWV,

Die Cut Foliage pieces are from the following:  Polkadoodles Sugarpops and Polkadoodles Work & Play 12.

This challenge we are sponsored by Ink on 3.

My layout is off to the following challenges:

Get Creative Challenges:  Anything but a card
Outlawz ~ Paper Ala Mode:  Pattern paper + die cut
Through the Purple Haze:  Fall Challenge
Try it on Tuesday:  Friends and Family (Page is of granddaughter and for daughter!)

Art Journal

It's time for new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and our optional twist is a Recipe: Use 3 Embellishments; 2 Pattern Papers; 1 Image.

This month we are showing our gratitude to all of our sponsors throughout 2018 in a Sponsor Showcase Month.  You will see us highlighting some of our favorite digis from our generous sponsors.

This art journal highlights the lovely Copic colored image Pretty As a Picture from All Dressed Up.

I wanted to use this delightful image on the front of an art journal for my little grand-artist!  The journal is filled with all different types of paper to accommodate her medium of choice~ graph, multi-medium, cardstock, etc! I think this will make a wonderful Christmas gift for her!

The cover pattern paper, letters, and red paper is from another sponsor this month:  Polkadoodles.  The artist's palette (my 2nd pattern paper) is cut from paper from Whimsy.  The die cuts are from Cricut:  'I Arted,' 'Cursive,' and 'Bags, Tags, and Boxes.'

I finished it off with 3 enamel brads to make the paints on the palette die cut.

Off to the following Challenges:

Crafty Friends Challenge:  Use 2 or more pattern papers
Cutie Pie:  Layers (I went with layers of paper and cardstock, dies, embellies, etc. to make this journal!)

CAS --PDQ

CAS ~ Clean and Simple! That's what the Digi Choosday Team is sharing this week.  Of course, it's always Anything Goes for all of your entries; so come join us for a chance to win some Polkadoodles digis!

Clean and Simple cards can be very beautiful and festive when you start with gorgeous images and fonts.  I have several people on my card list who would enjoy receiving one of these cards...my son comes to mind right off!

I love all the wonderful embellies and they always inspire me to think of the numerous possibilities for cards, tags, and wrapping during the holiday season!  I think you'll find lots of beautiful "last minute" and quick project ideas!

I have combined these adorable PRE-COLORED deer from Winnie Winterland Embellies with the deer paper from Winnie Winterland Paper Heaven 1 to create these quick and beautiful holiday cards.  The sentiments are from Winnie White Christmas.  The "Peace" card would also make a lovely New Year's Card.

It's time for new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and our optional twist is Kraft Paper.  I think Kraft paper is absolutely perfect for fall!

This month we are showing our gratitude to all of our sponsors throughout 2018 in a Sponsor Showcase Month.  You will see us highlighting some of our favorite digis from our generous sponsors.

This card highlights the lovely image Watering Cosmos from Pattie's Creations.

I started by adding a cut lattice border on the card base.  The next layer is an inked and distressed piece.  My kraft layer is embossed with a floral folder and topped with an oval printed and cut in Design Space using a lace pattern from Polkadoodles Belle Papillon (also one of our sponsors this year) and the digi from Pattie's Creations.

Green Rider!

As we continue the journey through the colors over at the Path of Positivity we have come to the Greens.  We in the horse world always talk about green horses and green riders!  Obviously, it's like anywhere else, it's all about being a beginner.

When I saw this wonderful digi from Ike's Art, I had to have it!  Riding Lesson just seemed to show the exact look I've seen on so many lesson horses' faces over the years!  Lesson horses put up with so much, and I have to say they are gems!  They take such good care of their green riders!

CAS at CIU

The new theme for the Cut It Up challenge is CAS ~ Clean and Simple!  Don't forget your die cuts!!

I decided to make a gift box of cards.  The box is from CTMH Artiste Cartridge.  Now, I'll admit, I did make some changes on this cut to make it fit standard A2 cards and envelopes and keep it to one sheet of 12 x 12 paper.  I made 4 cards for the box, but I think I could easily fit 6 in there!

The stamps on the cards are all from CAS-ual Fridays Stamp Set called Peaceful Garden.  These stamps are so perfect for any time of year and I really love the font on the text stamps; they stamp so clearly!

I really did keep these CAS with lots of white!  The pattern papers were kept to a minimum and were from stash.

The embellishments include the following:  Yellow Gems

Cricut cuts are from the following:

CTMH Artiste
CTMH Artfully Sent
CTMH Art Philosophy

This gift set is off to the following challenges:
Creative Knockouts:  CAS
Addicted to Stamps and More:  AG
Crafty Creations:  AG
CAS-ual Fridays:  Inspiration Photo ~ I was inspired by the leaves and  colors
