Our new challenge over at Cut It Up is Boys will be Boys! Come share your interpretation of this theme and don't forget the die cut!
I chose to use the Steampunk papers to make this layout. This was an older pic and the car has been sold in lieu for something more practical, but that is why we have pictures, right?
I started with some digital work with the gears and paper for the first layer. Then I did some stamping/heat embossing to create the "splatter" look. I inked and heat embossed some gears. Some of them were done with very imperfect embossing to get the textured look. The very black gear in the upper left corner was done with multiple layers of black embossing powder and has a very shiny look in "real life."
I layered up the papers and gears, added the metallic tape up the side and finished it with a strip of black tape and a metal stud.
