Progressive Challenge meets BINGO at Bugaboo

Isn't this such a lovely digi from Bugaboo!  They are sponsoring the Progressive Challenge over at The Outlawz this month!  That means we get the image free as long as we continue to play along each month!  Yay!!  Who doesn't love free images?

I'm also sending my springtime card off to the BINGO Challenge over at Catch the Bug!  I chose the top row across.

Birthday Card

Happy Birthday.....Yes, Birthday Cards is the theme over at Cut It Up this week.  What other holiday is more perfect for card makers?

I started with this oh, so cute image from Polkadoodles and "flattened" her onto the front panel of the card.  This particular paper is a digital file from Kitten Scraps.  I used Design Space to "flatten" and print the paper/digi onto the panel and then cut it on my Cricut.  The actual card design is from Digi Playground.

Finally, I wanted some shine.....since it's for a festive occasion!  So, I chose to heat emboss my sentiments, add sequins and attach some gems!

Material List
Digi: Polkadoodles The Darling Buds: Marigold
Copics
Cardstock: Kitten Scraps Colour Basics Kit 2
                   Orange CS from Stash
Card Cut: Flowers Card 1 from Digi Playground
Happy Birthday Cut: A Child's Year
Embellishments: Bo Bunny Gem, CTMH Sequins
Embossing: PEARLustre Carnelian Powder, Versa Mark

Attitude

Anything Goes is the twist over at Twisted Thursday this week.  So I'm sharing an entry from my faith journal using Attitude Car from Bugaboo!

Lately, I've had to make some difficult decisions with my horsemanship program and sometimes I have a bad attitude about change!  When I saw this digi from Bugaboo, I knew I needed it for my journey through these tough programming changes.

I chose to include three different passages in my sun and rays.  I started on the top rays with Romans 14:16-18 and worked my way down the rays with Philippians 2:3-4 and ended with Ephesians 4:2 on the final ray and the sun itself.  I felt these verses would help my attitude!

Material List:
Digi:  Attitude Car from Bugaboo
Copic Markers
Cardstock from CTMH
Cloud cut from Art Philosophy

Joyful, Joyful!

Well, hard to believe it is mid-month over at Path of Positivity!  Our theme this month, which is optional, is "An Expression of Love."

Possibly some of you are looking at this creation wondering how in the world this ties into the theme! Well, I suppose it's time to go back to Music History 101 for the answer!

Most know this amazing composer from his 5th Symphony....yes, an incredibly strong work at that; but I'm choosing to discuss his 9th Symphony, and in particular, the 4th movement of this great work.

It all started with a poem by Friedrich Schiller, "Ode to Joy."  Through Mr. Schiller's love of writing, Beethoven was touched as a young man and several years later Beethoven wrote his 9th Symphony with the 4th movement based on this poem.  Now, this composition was different than any other composition written up to that time in musical history.  You see, chorus had never been used in a Symphony before this work!  Beethoven chose to include four soloists and full chorus to sing the words from Schiller's poem in the last movement of the piece.

Today, this Choral Symphony is one of the most beloved works in the repertoire and the hymn "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee" is loved by many!

It is amazing Schiller could write this poem in 1785 expressing his love; then through that expression not only is a beautiful piece of literature created, but later a treasured symphony is written and premiered in 1824!  Beethoven's love of the poem and music then led to the cherished hymn with lyrics by Henry J van Dyke in 1905.

Yes, my friends, that is a lot of love being expressed and these expressions changed the course of musical history.  Our expressions of love might not change the history of music, but we do have the power to change lives.  Just like with Schiller's poem setting off a chain of events, we may never know what will come from our expressions of love!

Bravo!

My little grand-girl has recently taken up the violin.  Of course, that meant I needed to go in search of the perfect violin related digis!  Being a musician myself, I have quite a few musical stamps, digis, embellishments, etc, but the violin is new to this family.

I was over perusing at Polkadoodles when I ran into this little cutie; I had to have her.....ok, her and a few others while I was there!

Fleurette Bloom is a company charted to sponsor a challenge where I'm a DT and decided to stop in over there for a peek at their goodies and ran into this super piano SVG cut!

I uploaded the cut into Cricut DS and had too much fun placing my violinist onto the piano.  The piano lid all printed in black and left my digi for me to color.

I cut the keyboard off the piano and adhered it directly to my card front.  Then I adhered the colorful DP to the front right above it.  I popped the piano lid with violinist with 3-D tape to add some dimension and make the piano lid appear higher.

Material List:

Copic Markers
DP from DCWV
Black and White paper from Stash

LOVE

Something Old/Something Blue a wedding/anniversary card is the twist over at Twisted Thursday this week.  I decided to go with an anniversary card using the Ava and Deacon Love Word from Bugaboo!

For my something blue, I went with blue jeans on Deacon and a denim heart behind them.  I got this by using a scanned photo of a Levi's pocket.  Then for the something old, I used the old time script from a computer image and the threads making the bow are from an old pair of jeans!

I know a special couple who met as kids who might enjoy this card for an anniversary!

Expression of Love 1

It's the first Monday of the month and that means a new challenge over at Path of Positivity!  Our challenge this month is "An Expression of Love" and I love this challenge.  There are so many ways we can express love and there are so many different kinds of love!  That makes this challenge perfect for everyone!

I chose to use this image from Imagine That! Digi Stamp called Love You 2 Pizzas.  This stamp comes with sentiments, colored and uncolored digis as well as 2 paper patterns!  I chose to print off the red/white checks for my background!

This card is a gift card holder to show a family how much we love them.  They have been going through some tough times and this may just be the perfect "pick me up" for them.  Who wouldn't enjoy a night of pizza with no dishes!  Yay!

There are many ways we can show love for our friends, family, and the people we meet on the street everyday.  Never underestimate your contribution to someone else's attitude/mood.  When we show a bit of kindness, the smallest act of love, we have the ability to turn one's day around!  So, how will you choose to express some love this month?

Our challenge this month is generously sponsored by Imagine That! Digi Stamp and Mari Digis.  Thanks for stopping by; PoP on over to the challenge and see what the rest of the team is doing and share with us your thoughts, art, and inspirations!  Our themes are optional now, so we'd love to see anything positive you've been working on even if it doesn't exactly fit the theme.

Tic, Tac, Toe at Twisted Thursday

The Twist over at Twisted Thursday is Tic Tac Toe!

We are sponsored this month by Bugaboo!  I started my valentine with Bugaboo Valentine Jar Image including the word LOVE.  To complete my Tic, Tac, Toe I colored the hearts red and added red beads as the bling!  Now, I also have some pink hearts.....so that gives me another column of the game!

I considered adding flowers since I have arrows on the background paper for yet another column, but I wanted this valentine for my son. I was working to keep it masculine with the brown tread like paper and burlap.

I'm sending my valentine off to:
Color Throwdown:  Pink, Red, Chocolate
Crafting with Dragonflies:  Valentines
