Patriotic Colors

The new theme over at Cut It Up is Red, White & Blue or Patriotic symbol!  What perfect timing for this project.

My digital paper and digi Lil Miss USA are from Polkadoodles.  The tag cut is from Don Juan.  The festive jar... simply a recycled peanut butter jar!  That bright blue lid makes it perfect for the patriotic colored candies!  It's all tied together with some twine and ribbon from my stash.

When you visit the blog, check out the DT projects and check out the rules and prize info.  Then share your fun patriotic project ~ don't forget the die cut to have a chance to win a prize for our sponsor Heartfelt Creations!

Double Scoop!

The new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday is Anything Goes.

This image (Double Scoop Fun  from Whimsy) is flattened onto paper from Whimsy called Vintage Woods Papers.  Such an adorable image and great paper pattern!  Copics added color to the black and white digi and then a digital sentiment from Polkadoodles completed the project!

Since the theme is Anything Goes, there's no excuse!  Be sure to share with us whatever is in your workspace; we'd love to see it!

Adorable Geek!

Here she is again - Li’l Miss Apple A Day from the Sugarpops Collection.  She comes in pre-colored and black & white.  Today I chose to Copic color the black & white digi.  Most of the papers and the sentiment are from the Sugarpops Collection, also.  Those adorable apples are from the Winnie Special Moments Collection.

My school house tags and lacy circle are from Cricut Design Space.

You can view the Sugarpops collection here.

This little adorable geek is off to the following challenges:

Sentiments!

Winnie Special Moments is full of lovely florals perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and many other celebrations!

Sometimes we need cards in a hurry and the design sheets are so fun and easy to use!  This beautiful front is all pre-colored from this Design Sheet.  All I did is add a Quote, distress the edges and add some pearls, lace and seam binding.

The inside has a strip of floral from this Design Sheet, Sentiment from the Quotes and another pretty stem from Foliage.

You can peruse this incredible collection HERE.

Be sure to head over to Digi Choosday and check out the amazing projects from our team!  Then come share what you are crafting; we'd love to see it!  Remember, when you visit the Digi Choosday Site to pick up your discount code to Polkadoodles; it's good all day today....Tuesday!  It's a great way to pick up those digi's you've had your eye on!

Li'l Miss Apple A Day and her Backpack

Here she is Li'l Miss Apple A Day from the Sugarpops Collection.  She comes in
pre-colored and black & white.  The beautiful papers are from Winnie Fruit Punch and Winston.

I started with this sweet little pre-colored digi from Polkadoodles and flattened the image onto some Winston paper to make the flap of the backpack.  The backpack cut is from Cricut Design Space.

I plan to put a little surprise in this for my little grand-girl when she goes to school in August.  It will be the perfect size for some new socks, jewelry, hair clips/bands, or other small items.  This box measures 5 inches tall by 3 inches wide.  The little pockets on the sides open and would be great for some stickers or coins.

I'm sure she can wait to start back to school; but when she does, I'll be ready!

Sugarpops Mermaid

The cuteness continues with a new release of Sugarpops!  This is Sugarpops Mermaid colored up with Copics and added to some fun 'under the sea' paper from the Polkadoodles Winnie Starfish and Sandcastles collection.  You can peruse the entire Sugarpops collection HERE.

I decided to shake things up a bit with a shaker card!  I started in Design Space by slicing a circle into the front panel.  Then I brought in the paper design and sized it to fit the card the way I liked it.  Finally, I flattened the black and white Mermaid digi onto the panel.

After cutting that, I colored that little sweetie with Copics.

To make the shaker, I covered the back of the card panel with Acetate Alternative and applied 3-D tape to that.  I put in my shaker elements, removed the backing of the tape, and put a piece of cardstock over the elements.  Once those little beads and sequins were secure, the panel was adhered to my card base.

This little mermaid is swimming off to the following challenges:
A Gem of a Challenge:  Summer Colors

The Fairy and the Unicorn:  AG optional Summer Solstice

This image (Lexi's Beach Ball from Whimsy) is flattened onto a tote cut from CTMH Flower Market Cartridge.  The paper is from Polkadoodles.  After coloring this adorable image with Copics, I adhered the entire piece to a simple box cut to make a gift bag.

Even though our twist is Fun in the Sun, anything goes.  Be sure to share with us whatever is in your workspace; we'd love to see it!

Out Riding Fences.....

Over at Digi Choosday the DT always has a theme to follow even though it is always Anything Goes for everyone else.  Our theme this week is Combine 2 images.

Combining two images is easy when there are so many great images in the Polkadoodles collection!  I chose the Fence/Fenceposts and grass which is a pre-colored svg to go behind my B/W Cowboy digi!  This has to be one of my all-time favorite images!

I started in Cricut Design Space flattening the fence image onto the card front.  I attached my typed in sentiment at this point.  I also printed and cut my cowboy in DS.  Once it was cut, I colored in the sky and grass by sponging ink and colored the cowboy with Copics.  I adhered the finished card front onto a dark green card base and tucked a little burlap behind the front panel.  The cowboy is adhered with 3-D tape.

Remember, when you visit the Digi Choosday Site to pick up your discount code to Polkadoodles; it's good all day today....Tuesday!  It's a great way to pick up those digi's you've had your eye on!

Amour!

Faith, Hope, and Love...... That is the theme this month over at Path of Positivity.  Such a timely theme since wedding season is upon us.

This card was made using the Corset digi from Pattie's Creations.  I used Copic to color and then embellished with some lace and pearl gems.  The dress form was heat embossed with gold and platinum powders.  I adhere the corset onto the dress form with 3-D tape and tucked gathered tulle under the corset.

The pink background paper is from DDDoodles Living on the Edge Papers and the vintage
rose paper is from Polkadoodles Belle Papillon.  I used a stash stamp for my loving sentiment.

As for my thoughts on the topic...
Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad!
They've been married 57 years today!

As Shepherds Watched...

The new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday is Christmas!  Our sponsor is Whimsy and I chose to work with Star of Bethlehem.  I fell in love with this image and had an idea....then the digi seemed to take a turn as I was coloring!  Happens that way very often for me!  I started with a traditional coloring style and then it seemed to move into a more rustic, dark look.  Since he is a shepherd out with sheep at night, I decided to move with it and make it go a "messier" direction.

I started in Design Space flattening the image onto the paper from Vintage Woods Digital Papers.  I then colored with Copics and adhered onto a card base.

Remember our twist is Christmas, but anything goes.  Be sure to share with us whatever is in your workspace; we'd love to see it!

Pastels!

I'm still hooked on those adorable images from Polkadoodles Lil Miss Sugarpops Kits!  I colored up a topper from Kit 1.  These fun flowers and Spotty pops paper are also from Kit 1.

I designed the card front in my Notes Program on the Mac.  The Topper was cut on my Cricut and colored with Copics.  I added a little twine and adhered it onto a white card base!  Easy as that!

Remember, when you visit the Digi Choosday Site to pick up your discount code to Polkadoodles; it's good all day today....Tuesday!  It's a great way to pick up those digi's you've had your eye on!

Pocket Letters!

Wow, I can't believe it's the end of the Polkadoodles Lil Miss Sugarpops Release Party.  There are just too many pieces to show you in one week!  I'm telling you, there are pieces for your planner, beautiful papers, fun embellies, envelopes, cute images, pocket letter cards, and more!

Speaking of pocket letter cards, that is how I'm ending the week; here's my Pocket Letter.  I chose to go with a Birthday themed Pocket Letter.  I included the adorable cards and on each card around the central Birthday Greeting is a card with some gems, twine, tape, clips, embellie, or bow.  I re-adhered them to a clear carrier sheet so the recipient could take them off and use them!  In the case of the ribbon and tapes, they are simply wrapped around the cards.

I think this would make a wonderful gift to slip into the mail for a paper crafter!

You can check out the entire collection HERE.  If you've enjoyed seeing pieces of this collection, I'm sure you will see lots more from the team!  You can check that out at the Polkadoodles Facebook Page!

My Pocket Letter is off to the following challenges:

Baby needs new shoes!

So, what else can you do with the adorable Pre-colored Pocket Letter Cards from Lil Miss Sugarpops?  How about teaming them up with one of the envelopes in the kit and making a cute little gift card holder!  I think this would be perfect for a Baby Shower.

The envelope has sides, but I chose to cut those off to make it open all the way out to reveal the card.  Both of the cards and the envelope are available in Lil Miss Sugarpops Kit 1.

The base paper is from Winnie Special Moments.  You can find that collection HERE.

Dad...

The new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday is Masculine.  I decided to make a book of paper for my dad.  He is in a nursing home and has use of only his left side.  He likes to write things down so I thought this would be a nice thing for him.  I put hard covers on it so there would be a flat writing surface, and the rings make it easy to stay open.

The image and paper are from Whimsy Stamp.  The quote is from Bugs Life 1Digital Sentiments and the paper is Vintage Woods Papers.

Even though our twist is masculine, anything goes.  Be sure to share with us whatever is in your workspace; we'd love to see it!

The Pocket Letter Cards made this a really easy layout!  All I had to add were some gems, lace, twine, tulle and a flower from stash.  I did ink around the edges, but that was all the inking there was on this layout.

Faith, Hope, and Love

Faith, Hope, and Love...... That is the theme this month over at Path of Positivity.  Such a timely theme since wedding season is upon us.

Have you ever truly considered what it takes to make a great relationship with the one you love?  I know I've been with Kelly so long, I take it for granted.  We met when we were kids, were best friends and then started dating at the end of HS.  At this point we've been together 7/9 of my life...I can't imagine life without him.

Looking back, I guess it truly has taken all three to make it this long:  faith we would be there for each other; hope for better times when things were tough; love to keep us both committed and strong.

I'll leave you with a TB (throwback) photo of us!  This was taken at our HS after prom dance...1982.

Chunk/Junk Journal

The theme over at Cut It Up this time is Summer School!  Now, usually that is not such a good thing; but in this case, it was really fun!  The idea is to follow a tutorial and tell who you followed.  I followed several YouTube Tutorials from Jen of Eve Designs to make my chunky junk journal.  However, I did not use her templates/patterns.

I have several pictures, but it's probably easier to understand watching the video above.  There I could show you all the pull-outs, slide-ins, flips, etc.  I will say up front, I had to video outside; therefore the color is not true so I inserted photos.

Almost all the paper is from Polkadoodles Winnie in Wonderland Collection.  The collection includes digital paper, ephemera, sentiments, digis (black & white and pre-colored), tags, etc.

Everything in my book is from Digital downloads and are pre-colored.  No Copics were harmed in this project!  ; )

I did add black cardstock, white cardstock, lined paper from stash and one strip of striped paper from Polkadoodles Octavia Collection.

Embellishments include:  Offray lace, buttons, CTMH charms/gems/numbers, ribbon, waxed twine, homemade flowers, Prima flowers, SVG cuts from Cutting Cafe, chain from broken necklace. There are also cuts from Artbooking & Art Philosophy.

The book covers and spine are made from Grafix Medium Weight Chipboard.  I inked all the pages, tags and cover with black pigment ink.  Now, if you are wondering if I was covered in ink by the time the project was done...well, the answer is a resounding, "YES!"
I did some embossing with an M-Bossability embossing folder.  I used Liquid Glass and Studio G Glitter Glue for some sparkle and shine.
Thanks for hanging with me through this long post!  Please view the video for more information and a better look at all the "bells and whistles."  You will see parts of the book I couldn't get with my still camera.
