Out with the Old, In with the New!

We are ending the year over at Cut It Up with a fun challenge to use some of your old stuff and break in any of your new goodies and crafting toys you might have received over the holidays!  The idea is to use something old and something new along with a die cut, of course!

I have used a new image, Masquerade Mary,  from our sponsor Digital Delights.  I also used a "new to me" technique of scoring the shapes on my card to make them look a bit dimensional.  My diamonds dies and font are from CTMH Artiste an older CTMH Cartridge,  and the papers are all older, also.

Thanks for coming by today!  Be sure to check out the fun cuts the DT found/designed for this challenge over at Cut It Up.   Feel free to check out other pages/posts, leave me comments or questions, or check out my YouTube Videos!

Christmas Blessings

My apologies on this initial blog post!  I published without finishing----oops!  So, let me finish and hope some of you will see it in its completed form!

We are at mid-month over at Path of Positivity and our theme this month is Blessings!  For those of us who celebrate Christmas, we are reminded of the greatest blessing of all and celebrate the birth of the Christ Child.  As I re-read that story, worship, and pray I am reminded that I have the responsibility to share those blessings.  Remember, the simplest of acts can be a blessing to someone:  a smile, a warm greeting, asking someone to dinner/party, giving your spot in line to one who looks frazzled, gesturing on another driver to go first, etc.

My card images are Elegant Ornaments from Imagine That! Digi Stamp.  They have some beautiful designs there.

We are so blessed by our sponsors this month:  Decosses Dynamite Doodles and Imagine That! Digi Stamp.

More prizes are sponsored by:  Creative Bug Digis.

Thanks for dropping by.  Now it's time to check out the inspiring art created by the team.  Head on over to PoP and see what they have to offer and then share your thoughts, art, poetry, story, card, scrapbook layout, etc with us. We can't wait to see how you interpret this challenge theme!

Blog Hop Box/Card Video on YouTube!

No, you are not experiencing Deja Vu!  hahaha  I did post this project earlier in the month HERE.  I had a question about how I made this box; that question inspired a video!

Curious how this card was made?  Grab a hot cup of cocoa/coffee/tea and check out the video available on YouTube or you can watch below!

Thanks for stopping by for a visit!  Hope your holiday preparations are going well and you are staying  peaceful through the chaos!  Feel free to leave me a comment/question, peruse other pages/posts, pop over to my Pinterest, or watch more videos on my YouTube Channel.

Cocoa in the Sock!

Verve Stamps has a fun challenge using the picture to the right as inspiration.  I thought it was so pretty, I had to play along! You'll never guess what is inside this sock........Arctic White Cocoa!  I love this creamy white chocolate drink!!  You can see it peeking out of the top of the sock.

My sock is cut from the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge in Cricut Design Space.  I embossed the Cotton Candy cardstock with a snowflake embossing folder and then attached the heel and toe.  This paper is old and from my stash....not sure what it is.  The white cuff was run through a Cuttlebug folder.  The Darice lace was attached with glue under the cuff.

I glued the back of the sock onto the front around the edges attaching some green grosgrain ribbon.

My tag was made from the "gifted" Verve stamp set available HERE through December 30, 2016.  This is a great set and you will want to visit Verve and download that free gift while it is available!  Thanks to Julee for this fun digi stamp set!

You'll notice I cut it twice printing the sentiment onto the back piece.  I colored the front with Copics and added some Studio G Glitter Glue.

I attached the tag and a couple of jingle bells with twine and glued a "frufy" bow over the top!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Feel free to leave me a comment/question, peruse other pages/posts, pop over to my

Country Snowman

A very quick post today to share this sweet snowman from Sandi's Samples; it is a free digi image if you play in the Progressive Challenge over at The Outlawz!  Thanks to Sandi for this cute snowman!

I chose to give him sort of a country look by distressing the edges, coloring my ribbon with a marker, and backing it with Kraft paper.  This image is so versatile, it could go many different directions!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Feel free to leave me a comment/question, peruse other pages/posts, pop over to my Pinterest, or watch some videos on my YouTube Channel.

Shaping up the Holidays!

Time for a challenge over at Cut It Up and our challenge this time is to make a shaped card!  How fun is that for Christmas/New Years, birthdays, or other winter holidays?

My shaped card is the manger and the barn cut is from Cricut Old West.  I will try to get a tutorial on my YouTube soon!

Picture of the card closed.  Paper is from CTMH Rustic Home Fundamentals.  The doors open up from the outside of the card to reveal the manger scene from Art Impressions.  I colored that lovely scene with Copics.

Finally, the card opens traditionally and is stamped with a sentiment from CTMH Hymns of Praise.

My card is off to:
613 Avenue Create:  Holiday Happiness
TTCRD:  AG
Sweet Stampers:  AG
Pile It On:  Any Holiday/Celebration

We are excited to have you join us for this challenge for a chance to win a wonderful prize! It's a gift card from Michael's Craft Store!

Snow Sisters

Thursday and that means time for a Twisted Thursday Challenge over at The Outlawz!  This week our optional twist is Snowman.  My tag is a cut from CTMH Artistry Cartridge printed with an image from PPinky called Lily and Snowsisters

I glittered up the stars by adding a little CTMH Glitz Glitter Gel on a tag and gluing that tag to my printed tag once it was colored with Copics.

Thanks for dropping by today.  It's always great to have company!  Please feel free to peruse other pages/posts or view some of my videos at my YouTube Channel.

Be sure to check out the Snowmen from the rest of the team!  Our twist is always optional, so be sure to share with us whatever is in your workspace. We'd love to see it!

Really, I can explain!

Today, I have a coffee card for one of my fellow coffee lovers!  I loved this cup and sentiment, which just happens to be a free holiday gift from Verve Stamps!   They are one of the many generous sponsors over at The Winter Coffee Lovers Blog-Hop!  If you've not been over there, go!  You need to see all the wonderful inspiration, play along, and check out the sponsors.

I was not familiar with Verve Stamps, so I went over to take a look around and was so excited to see their Faith collection.  As many of you know, I have really taken to Faith Journaling and I've been looking for some stamps, papers, etc.  They have some beautiful stamps and dies perfect for that!!  Oh, the wish list grows!

Off to get a hot cup of coffee...thanks for stopping by today!  Feel free to leave me a comment/question, peruse other pages/posts, pop over to my Pinterest, or watch some videos on my YouTube Channel.

Riding the Coffee Wave! ; )

Yum, yum, yum!  It's time for the Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!  I love these hops where I can check out the latest Coffee/Cocoa/Tea papers, stamps, embellishments, etc!  What could be more fun!?  Unless, of course, it's a Ornamental Newton tipping over coffee so he can ride the coffee wave on a Christmas Ball!  hee hee

I love working in my Faith Journal and this was a very fun/whimsical layout inspired by the joy of Christmas, Psalm 23:5, that commerical with the cats wrecking the Christmas decorations, and Coffee.....which does bring me joy!  ; )

That sweet kitty stamp is Ornamental Newton from Newton's Nook.  The cups are from Cricut:  A Child's Year Cartridge.  The coffee beans are from a CTMH stamp set (retired).  The Chunky glitter is Recollections Copper Brown.  Cup papers are all CTMH retired Christmas papers.
My kitty is floating off to the following challenges:

Pile It On:  Any Holiday/Celebration
613 Avenue Create:  Holiday Happiness

Thanks for stopping by today!  Feel free to leave me a comment/question, peruse other pages/posts, pop over to my Pinterest, or watch some videos on my YouTube Channel.

A Multitude of Angels

Well, here we are at Day 7 of Holiday Chaos over at Catch the Bug Challenge!  Today it's BINGO and I have done bottom row across (3 Layers, Ribbon, Non-Traditional Holiday Colors) or right column down (Glitter/Bling, Snowflakes, Non-Traditional Holiday Colors).

I loved this Sweet Angel from Bugaboo and thought about a chorus of Angels for my Faith Journal!  I use this book to art-journal lots ideas based on scripture, hymns, philosophy, etc.

My angel page has a base layer of paint, then tulle, and finally the chorus of angels and stars.  The adjacent page is started the same way, but then I added the snowflakes cut from CTMH Flower Market, lace, and gems.  I added the sentiment and a ribbon bookmark to finish off the layout.

My angels are off to the following challenges:

TTCRD:  AG
613 Avenue Create:  Holiday Happiness

Thanks for stopping by to visit!  Feel free to hang around and see other posts/pages, leave me a comment or question, pop over to my Pinterest, or check out some of my videos over at YouTube.

Peace, Love, Joy

It's Day 6 at Holiday Chaos over at Catch the Bug!  Today's theme is Flash Back and that means use an old image and old paper.  Well, I have to admit, I'm sort of new to Bugaboo Images, so they are all new to me!  But I think this one might be older.....I'm not sure.  I can tell you my paper has been around awhile.  The chevron paper is from at least 3 years ago and the script paper is older than that.

I decided to play on the Peace theme from Penguin one and add a peace symbol--a flash back to the '60's.  Actually, the peace symbol was designed in 1958.  (A little history for you!)

I'm sending my cool penguins off to the following challenges:

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge:  Christmas Challenge  (Peace Sign from Groovy Times)
TTCRD:  AG
613 Avenue Create:  Holiday Happiness

Thanks for stopping by; feel free to leave me a comment or question, check out other pages/posts, watch some videos at my YouTube Channel or check out my Pinterest.  Wishing you all peace as you move through the holiday season!

Oh, Christmas Tree

Thursday and that means time for a Twisted Thursday Challenge over at The Outlawz!  This week our optional twist is Christmas Tree.  My Christmas tree is a cut from CTMH Artistry Cartridge printed as an image on the card behind PPinky Fifi.  My sentiment is from the CTMH Artfully Sent Cartridge.  I glittered up the start and ornaments with some Studio G Glitter Glue!
Thanks for dropping by today.  It's always great to have company!  Please feel free to peruse other pages/posts or view some of my videos at my YouTube Channel.  Be sure to check out the Christmas Trees from the rest of the team!  Our twist is always optional, so be sure to share with us whatever is in your workspace.  We'd love to see it!

What??

It's Day 5 at Catch the Bug ~ Make it Funny Photo

Now really, what's funnier than a cat thinking he might be on Santa's "Nice List"?  I've had several cats in my life and a visit from Santa was only through Santa's generosity and not because any of them made the list!  hahaha

My favorite cat of my life was an old grouchy cuss named Igor.  That guy was MEAN.....but, Santa always came to see him!

Thanks for dropping by today.  It's always great to have company!  Please feel free to peruse other pages/posts or view some of my videos at my YouTube Channel.

Feast Day of St. Nick

Since today is St. Nick's Feast Day, I'm choosing to celebrate with a card depicting Santa......and since it's Day 4 over at Bugaboo Catch the Bug, I'm using a fun digi of the jolly, ol' guy and all his friends.   What better way to celebrate!

Day 4 is Clean as Snow ~ Keep it simple:  No patterned paper

Also sharing this over at 12 Months of Christmas where the theme is Welcome to the North Pole!

Another short and sweet post from me today, but you are always welcome to hang out and peruse other pages/posts, visit my Pinterest Page, or view some YouTube Videos at my Channel.  Thanks for visiting!

Blessings

Time for the last Path of Positivity Challenge theme of 2016:  Blessings.  What an appropriate theme as we celebrate holidays and wrap up the year.

My first layout celebrates the wonderful year we had with my nephew!  Wow, what an exciting time for him.  He has blessed so many lives with his music and has definitely been a credit to our family. We were fortunate to hear him play several concerts, watch him graduate Valedictorian, and leave for Rose Hulman.  We are all excited to see where his future takes him and we feel blessed to be a part of his life!

My second smaller layout is in memory of my friend Chaps who blessed our lives for many years.  We found him at a shelter and have loved him since.  Now, I'm not saying everyday was cake....especially the day we came home and found he had eaten an entire cake mix!  It was definitely a struggle in the beginning as he ate through drywall, tore up door frames, ate anything he could pull off the counter tops/table, and tunneled under his pen in the barn.  There was just no confining that guy!  But he eventually settled in and proved to be a blessing.  The older he got, the more I loved him!  Chaps loved Christmas and his favorite part was the nativity scene.  Every year we would set it out by the fireplace and he would lay by it.  One day we found all the pieces gently moved out of the manger.  He was laying there with his head inside the manger cradling the one remaining piece....the Baby Jesus.  This shepherd knew the meaning of Christmas.  On Christmas morning, Chaps would take his new toy from Santa to the manger and lay there by the fire.  Chaps was my scrapping dog; he went up to the craft room with me everyday and sat in his chair watching me craft.

When I saw the beautiful winged sentiment in the Holiday Hoopla collection by Decosses Dynamite Doodles, I knew I wanted to do this layout to put out by our manger this year.  All of the papers and frame are also from this delightful holiday set.

Candy Cane Stripes!

Day 3 of Holiday Chaos over at Catch the Bug!  Today it's make a tag with red and white stripe!  Now, can you believe out of all the tons of paper I have in this craft room I had NO red/white striped paper!  Yikes!!  So, I printed up some candy cane paper from the Holiday Hoopla collection by Decosses Dynamite Doodles.  I also gave that darling little Bugaboo Christmas Moose a red plank stage to show off his ornaments; that created some red/white stripes.

Ok, I'll be back later today with my Path of Positivity Post; you won't want to miss that because I have more of the Holiday Hoopla Collection featured in that post!  Thanks for stopping by; you are always welcome to peruse other pages/posts, visit my Pinterest Page, or view some YouTube Videos at my Channel.  Feel free to leave me comments, questions, or just say hi!
