Rejoice!

Our new optional challenge theme this month at Path of Positivity is REJOICE!

When I hear this word I always think of the Christmas song/carol "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" and this brings very fond memories of singing this lovely hymn.

You can read more history from Classic FM Discover Music!

‘O Come, O Come Emmanuel’ was originally written in Latin with a title of ‘Veni, Veni, Emmanuel’ (documents featuring the title and words date back to 1710).

The English translation of the Christmas carol came about in 1851 when priest and scholar John Mason Neale’s version featured in the pages of The Hymnal Noted – a key text in the history of hymns collected by hymnal documenter Thomas Helmore.

Neale also originated the words to ‘Good King Wenceslas’, making him officially one of history’s most festive clergymen.

With Sympathy

This lovely scene, Fairytale Cottage Background Scene, was first released as a background for the lovely Princess Aria.  However, I was inspired by a one of my teammates, NanaConnie, to color the background without a foreground focal image.

I find it makes for a lovely all occasion card, birthday, or sympathy card.  I could also see this for an anniversary or celebration; the possibilities are truly endless!

You can learn more about Conie and her art on her Etsy Site or Facebook.  There is also a challenge site for Conie Fong images:  Conie Fong FaceBook Challenge.  Everyone is invited to join and play along using Conie Fong images!

The challenge at Conie Fong FaceBook Challenge has 2 challenges every month:  one for completed projects and one for coloring only.

Always Grateful!

As we continue through the month at Path of Positivity, we are thinking about gratitude.  I decided to combine several images from Scribbles Designs in my journal to share some things I love.

I started with the frame:
I'm thankful for my mind where I can imagine and believe.
I'm thankful for music and inspiration from others.
I'm very thankful I can see hope and joy in this world.
I'm so thankful I can feel love and joy.
I'm always happy to inspire others and make someone laugh!

The cup of pencils and brushes reminds me of how happy I am for the resources I have to craft including not only the tools, but also time.

The hearts bring to mind all those I cherish.  The little confetti around them make me think of all the festive times I have shared with those I love!

The cup with so many saucers reminds me of all the places I have had a hot cup of coffee:  horse shows, barns, church, performances/rehearsals, long drives, homes of dear friends, and of course ~ my own kitchen table.

Yes, I have so much to reminisce when I look at this page in my art journal!  Always Grateful!

Come share your ideas on this theme at Path of Positivity!  Or you maybe you would rather enter our AG.  Either is great as long as your project/post is inspiring, positive, or uplifting in some way!

Thank You's!!

We do love our sponsors and we are excited to share some cards we recently mailed to them.  We all chose one or two sponsors from the past year and created cards for them using their unique designs!

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to share our appreciation with two sponsors:  CAS-ual Fridays and DRS Designs.  Each of these sponsors is such a joy and always inspire me to create something fun and exciting!

I'll start with this card I sent to CAS-ual Fridays!  I used the lovely Peaceful Garden Stamp Set.  This beautiful set includes layering stamps and sentiments.  I layered it on green cardstock and a retired designer paper from CTMH; I backed that with an embossed piece in the color of the sentiment.  The cut of this card is from CTMH Artiste.  Inks and twine are also from CTMH.

Next, I'm sharing this more rugged type card I sent to DRS Designs.  I used the Cowboy Silhouette stamping over paper from Polkadoodles.  I used black twine to string up the tag from Old West in Cricut Design Space.  Metal eyelets help to hold this in place as the riders gallop by!  The sentiment was created in Design Space using font from Old West.

Be sure to visit Cut It Up and see all the wonderful cards from the team and celebrate our many sponsors!

Again, a huge thank you to all our sponsors this year!  We are excited to work with the amazing and talented people behind the beautiful papers, cuts, and digis!  It is truly our pleasure!

Thanks for stopping by!  Make yourself at home and feel free to peruse other posts/pages, leave a comment, and/or check out my Pinterest and YouTube Channel.
