Card Base:  Winnie Special Moments
Pink:  Love and Kisses

Calendar

The new theme over at Cut It Up is Calendar! I love calendars and have several all over the house and barn.  I have them in book, computer, and decorative hanging forms.  Some are functional, others are more artistic....I guess I'm just a calendar nerd!

This particular calendar is for my craft room to keep track of ideas for challenges, photos, projects, etc.  I got this dry erase memo board from Amazon; you can find it HERE.  I really like it since it's magnetic, dry erase, and has a cork border!  There is a lot to do with this board!

I used magnetic strips to back the pieces and I can move them around the board.  I cut the different month names; they are also on magnets and can be easily changed!  Important notes can be stuck to the borders with tacks, written on the board and later erased, or stuck under the magnets!

I went into Cricut Design Space and found the calendar grid and month names in the Days and Dates.  The little pieces are from the Polkadoodles Journal/Planner Pages Lil Miss Collection.

When you visit the Cut It Up blog, have fun viewing the DT projects and check out the rules and prize info.  Then be sure to show us your calendar ideas ~ don't forget the die cut to have a chance to win a prize from our amazing sponsor ~ Heartfelt Creations.

Winter's Playground!

It's mid-month and that means more inspiration over at Path of Positivity!  Our theme this month, which is always optional, is Festivities!  Now, how time appropriate is that for the month of December going into the New Year!

It is always so fun to work with the papers and digital designs from Kitten Scraps!  I used Winter's Playground Bundle to design the layout above as well as the package and card set below!

The layout includes some older pictures I had in my computer that had not been scrapped and this paper collection just seemed perfect for a festive winter ride in the snow!  I loved the torn paper element as well as the string/rope; they were just the right additions for this page!

Now, if you're not into digital scrapping, you can print these gorgeous papers and elements to make cards, bags, tags, scrapbook pages, home decor, etc.  This collection features colors that are perfect for those who love country/woodsy look as well as those who like brighter/cute images.  I chose to go with the woodsy look for my son and husband!

This collection includes journaling cards perfect to use as quick gift cards, embellishments, penguins, reindeer, snowflakes, buttons, alphabets,,, oh the list goes on and on!  You need to see the bundle; it is beautiful and oh, so festive!

Mixed Media Guest!

Amongst all the holiday excitement, I get to share with you all through the mixed media challenge over at We Love 2 Create!  This is a gorgeous challenge site with tips, inspiration, tutorials, and lots of beautiful mixed media of all kinds!

My creation is a layout in my faith journal.  I was inspired by the verse from Exodus in conjunction with this wonderful Winnie image ~ Bearing Gifts!  I'm no literary/religious scholar, but for me this verse is a reminder of how we are all entrusted with talents and I especially liked this for mixed media since it talks about stones, metals, woods, and crafts!

All of this inspired me to cut the trees from a plaid fabric and add gems, sequins, and pieces of gold and silver chains to them.  The trunks of the trees are cut from wood veneer.

Winnie is Copic colored and I added sparkly glues/gels to the crown.

Winnie (Bearing Gifts) and the trees (Winnie Winterland Digis) are from Polkadoodles Winnie in Winterland Bundle.  The background paper is from Winnie White Christmas.

I am so grateful to share with you over at We Love 2 Create and thank the wonderful team for inviting me to participate!

My journal pages are off to:

Boxing up the Holidays!

The new theme over at Cut It Up is Boxing Up the Holidays! So appropriate for this time of year; the idea is to make a box for a special gift!  Our sponsor this time is Ink on 3 who provided us with some wonderful boxes to create!

This adorable box, filled with some yummy treats, is made from the Christmas Memories Luminary House Box.  It comes with more fun dies than I used:  a picket fence, overlays for the chimney, etc.  This cut can be used for a treat box, luminary box, or a piece of decor!

Mystical Christmas Ride!

The new optional twist for our Anything Goes challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday is Poinsettia.

My image this week is from our wonderful sponsor A Day for Daisies.  Be sure to check out all their adorable images.  Looks like they have some new holiday images in the shop!

I had this cute image, Bird Ride, in my stash; although I realize it's quite summery, I put her in long sleeves and turned her bird into a gold dove to make it more Christmas-y!  She makes for a very magical little nymph riding through Christmas with the shaker sequins and beads!

My Poinsettia paper is from Polkadoodles Winnie Winterland.

Gearing Up!

It's a new challenge over at Digi Choosday and we are sharing New/New Year ideas this week!  Our Challenges are always Anything Goes for all of your wonderful entries!

I chose to go with a male New Year's Card for my son!  I used a striped background from Octavia and the gears from Winnie Wonderland Steampunk Cogs and Wheels and the  Winnie Wonderland Steampunk Cogs/Wheels.

The first digi is a layout of all the cogs and wheels.  I copic colored the ones on the bottom layer of the image.  Then I used the second digi which has the wheels and cogs separated to ink them and do some embossing.  I put them on 3-D foam to make them different heights.  I added a few black gems, 3 metal brads, and some twine.

I'm pretty sure my son is going to love this card!

Be sure to head over to Digi Choosday and check out the amazing projects from our team!  Then come share what you are crafting; we'd love to see it!  Remember, when you visit the Digi Choosday Site to pick up your discount code to Polkadoodles; it's good all day today....Tuesday!  It's a great way to pick up those digi's you've had your eye on!  While you're there, you might want to sign up for the Newsletter so you never miss out on special events!

Polka Dot Stars

The new optional twist for our Anything Goes challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday is Polka Dot Christmas.

My image this week is Softly from our wonderful sponsor A Day for Daisies.  Be sure to check out all their adorable images.  Looks like they have some new holiday images in the shop!

This was such a lovely image and it feels like the angel is ready to deliver the new baby to the manger.

My goal was to make her appear sort of as a cameo coming out of the frame.  So once I lightly Copic colored the image and outlined the wings with a gel pen, I adhered the bottom to the frame.  The frame was cut in Design Space and heat embossed using Ranger Enchanted Gold powder.  I glued the frame down flat as well as the bottom of her gown.  I placed a piece of 3-D foam under the bottom of the circle.  This popped the top part up off of the card.

As for the paper under the angel, it started out blue.  I rubbed in purple and dark blue inks.  I finished with black around the edges.  I left it to dry and then heat embossed the sentiment.  Finally, time for the polka dots....stars!  I went with my Signo Uni-Ball Broad pt.

Festivity!

It's the first Monday of the month and that means a new challenge over at Path of Positivity!  Our theme this month, which is always optional, is Festivities!  Now, how time appropriate is that for the month of December going into the New Year!

I have chosen to work with Bugaboo Peace Love Joy AngelSuch a perfect image for Christmas!  Christmas is such a festive time with all the music, lights, and bustle.  It seems family and friends are right around the corner and we seem to relive joyous times from our past.

It seems I always think of Christmases with my grandparents.  They were so delightful, though each set brought very different types of decor, food, and energy to the event.  Then when I married, I learned to celebrate in new and different ways.  I supposed now 30-some years later, our Christmas is a combination of all the past Christmas holidays!

*   *   *
I started with my image and colored with Copics.  All of the gold was done with a gel pen.  I tore the edges and backed it with a dark blue.  I turned to a beautiful piece of snowflake paper from Decosses Dynamite Doodles and wrapped it with gold thread and a multi-bow!  The bottom layer is a piece of white CS covered in Gold Pigment ink, dried, and stamped with an old flourish stamp.

Our challenge this month is generously sponsored by
KittenScraps and

Thanks for stopping by; PoP on over to the challenge and see what the rest of the team is doing and share with us your thoughts, art, and inspirations!  Our themes are optional now, so we'd love to see anything positive you've been working on even if it doesn't exactly fit the theme.

Jingle All the Way!

The new theme over at Cut It Up is Christmas Song! How fun is that!  I chose the popular tune Jingle Bells!

The bag cut is from CTMH Artiste and the tag cut is from Cricut CTMH Artbooking.  The embossed kraft paper is retired from CTMH as are the stamps I used on the tag.  I stamped the horse onto the tag cut from patterned paper and then went around the edges of the tag with a wreath/foliage motif.  I then stamped in some berries.  Of course, then I added some Jingle Bells to mimic sleigh bells!

This made for a very rustic/ranch type gift bag perfect for one of my riding buddies!

When you visit the Cut It Up blog, have fun viewing the DT projects and check out the rules and prize info.  Then be sure to shape that card ~ don't forget the die cut to have a chance to win a prize from our amazing sponsor ~  Heartfelt Creations!
