Tag, You're It at Cut It Up!

Our new challenge over at Cut It Up is 'Tag, You're It.'  The idea is to make a tag!  I chose to make a tag featuring the beautiful art of Julia Spiri!  Ms Spiri is a Shepherd fan and this is a portrait of her dog, Bim!  Absolutely stunning, but what Shepherd isn't?  ;)  Here's a picture of my guy, Luther.

I will probably use my tag in Luther's journal; however, it would be appropriate on a scrapbook page!  It also would be great on a masculine gift/page!

Check out the video for some tips!

Ya' Gotta' Laugh at Twisted Thursday! Haha

It's time for a new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and the optional twist is:  "Laughter!"  Now, that should lighten our days ahead!

As many of you might know who read many of my blog posts, I was a musician in my real life.  I don't do any playing anymore due to life circumstances, but I still teach.  It seems everyone in my family plays oboe or trumpet and we marry into those instruments.  It's weird, but true!

I can tell you the oboist is truly an unusual personality type!  Truest of the Type A's; serious by nature; actually enjoys the scales and exercises.  Yeah, lots of fun!  hahahaha  Oboists have to practice all the time...everyday!  When they aren't practicing, they are making reeds.  The mood of the oboist is always reliant on the reeds in his/her box.  Bad reeds = a bad day!  My prof used to say, "A reed a day keeps the psychiatrist away!"

On that note...

Guest at Sunday Songs and Rhymes!

I'm honored to be a Guest Designer over at  The Outlawz Sunday Song and Rhyme where the idea is to create inspired by the Bing Crosby Song "Swinging On A Star"!  You can see all the lyrics HERE.

I chose this part of the song:

"Would you like to swing on a star?
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
And be better off than you are
Or would you rather be a mule?
A mule is an animal with long funny ears
Kicks up at anything he hears
His back is brawny but his brain is weak
He's just plain stupid with a stubborn streak
And by the way, if you hate to go to school
You may grow up to be a mule"

Ok, now for my disclaimer!  I realize the digi above is a donkey and NOT a mule!  I also have high regard for the mule!  With all respect to Bing Crosby and his lyrics, the mule is NOT stupid or weak in the brain!  The mule is possibly the brightest of all the equine animals...yes, it's true.  Many a "stubborn" mule, who wouldn't listen to the riders, have saved their 'stupid humans' from making life ending errors on the trails.  The mule is the chosen equine for the Grand Canyon tours because of their thinking abilities and refusal to make risky mistakes.

Whew, now that I've cleared up all that, on with the crafting....
Wondering how this all came together?  It's all in the video below!

Many thanks to Susan for inviting me to play along with the talented team at The Outlawz Sunday Song and Rhyme Challenge!  You are invited to visit and share your creativity sparked by this song!

Summer Thoughts

It's that wonderful time of year when the flowers are blooming and summer is right around the corner!  The sun is shining longer during the day and there's more time to be out and enjoy time with friends.  Of course, there are always those special friends who live far away and it's nice to drop them a card to let them know what they mean to us!

This lovely sentiment from Conie Fong combined with this spring bunny delivering a flower seems perfect to convey that message!
