Case-ing My Friends!

This week over at Cut It Up our theme is Case a DT and as always -  Use a Die Cut.  We were assigned a DT member to case and I was so lucky to case Esther.  Her beautiful card is below or you can check it out at her blog HERE!

Now, here is my story:  I was so enamored with this card, but I couldn't for the life of me find a cut I liked in my stash.  Then there was figuring out exactly how she did this.....  I pondered, searched, and almost gave up on this particular card to "case."  Esther has lots of amazing cards, I could've moved on to another choice, but I was obsessed with this one!

So, I'm not really sure I "cased" this; actually it might truly be more of an inspiration to my card.  None the less, here it is!

My inspirations from her card are the following:  silhouette, feminine, fabric, jewels/gems, flowers, patterned background paper.

So, now it's your turn to give this a try!  Simply choose a card to "case" and tell us who you "cased"!   Include a picture of your project and a photo of the project you chose.   I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with this theme!  I'm hoping we do this again in the future; there are lots of projects from out DT I would love to investigate further!

Our challenge is sponsored by Heartfelt Creations.  You will want to hop on over to Cut It Up to check out the details on the prize and requirements!

Thanks for dropping by; it's always fun to have company!  Feel free to peruse other pages/posts, leave me a question/comment, visit my Pinterest Page, or view some YouTube Videos at my Channel.

Beauty of Nature

It's time for a new theme over at Path of Positivity.  This month we are exploring the Beauty of Nature.  Spring is such a lovely time of year here in the midwestern US.  Yes, it's true we do have lots of rain and the mud gets pretty gushy, but we do have some beautiful color in the budding trees and flowering plants.

Around my house, we enjoy the return of birds, bunnies, squirrels, etc.  Years ago when the kids lived at home we had the joy of new baby goats in the barn.  There's nothing cuter than new kids; they are adorable literally springing around the barn!  A trip to the local TSC is a sure reminder of Spring as we see the new arrival of baby bunnies and chicks in the store.  So much beauty everywhere we go!

Spring is definitely a time of beauty and the perfect time for our theme!

The image I chose from Sparkle n Sprinkle is Easter Bunny and Chicks.  I thought it was a great example of chicks hatching, flowers blooming and bunnies out playing in the new spring grass!

Our challenge this month is generously sponsored by Sprinkle N Sparkle.

My bunny is off to:

Marcie Christmas Bag

So much fun to be a guest over at Digital Delights by Louby Loo!  I chose Shelf Sitter Marcie...she is just too adorable!

I wanted to get a head start on my Christmas bags and she is just too perfect sitting there looking so cute!  I cut a simple box cut and sliced off the top flaps.  I then used the reversed side to put along the top.  I punched some holes and tied it all up with a bow and bell!

For my little sitter, I joined her up with the frame in Design Space and then colored her with Copics.  I added some Studio G Glitter gel and then on the hat I sprinkled on some chunky glitter from my stash.  It gave it sort of a fuzzy/textured look.

I have to say, that is what I love about Christmas crafting.  I can go all out with the glitters, fun colors, textures and cuteness!  Lucky for me I have grand-girls over here.....not sure what I'd do with boys!  ; )

Thanks for stopping by and thanks to my friends at Digital Delights by Louby Loo for having me!  Be sure to drop by and see what the fabulous DT has to share there and then share one of your projects with them for a chance to be a guest designer or win some fun digi's!

Spinning Science!

It's time for some Polkadoodles inspiration!  Remember, when you visit the Digi Choosday Site to pick up your discount code to Polkadoodles; it's good all day today....Tuesday!  It's a great way to pick up those digi's you've had your eye on!

My card today is a spinner card made from a design sheet found in the Science/Math/Teacher/Professor/Geek/Student/Chemistry Bundle Kit.  You can also find it in the Work & Play 12 Download Collection Big Kahuna Bundle.

I cut 2 design sheets so I would have a front and back for all the little spinner pieces.  I cut the plaid frames from paper found in the Paper Heaven 8.  Then I backed the inside of the card with a strip of black to make it look like it was all written on the blackboard when the card is closed.  (There is a sheet of white under the black to write my sentiment.)  My little ovals are all attached by fishing line and taped in under the frame and blue cardstock on the front of the card. Before placing the card in the envelope, I twirl the ovals; then when you open the card, the words spin!  You can see that in the video below.

Off to the following challenges:

You've Got Me In Stitches

Time for a new challenge over at Cut It Up and I got to choose the theme!
Since this two week challenge will be running over April 1, I thought it would be fun to have the theme "You've got me in stitches!"  Sort of a play on words...you know, with April Fool's pranks and jokes and such.  The actual idea is to use stitching of some kind on your project.  It can be faux or actual hand/machine stitching.  It could be part of a die or inked.  You're following the theme as long as it has some sort of stitching and a die cut!

Our challenge is sponsored by Fleurette Bloom and almost everything in my project is from their lovely shop!  I chose to use the following pieces:
Tiger Lilly Gift Bag
Vintage Labels
Leaf Branch
Rose 3-D
Bunny Hop Paper Collection

I added some zig zag stitching, a couple of gems from my stash, a tulle bow and stamped a sentiment to the tag!

My stitching is off to the following challenges:
Die Cuttin Divas:  3-D Projects: Purse, Bag or Box

Thanks for coming by today!  We invite you to head over to check out the fun cuts the DT found/designed for this challenge over at Cut It Up.   Feel free to check out other pages/posts, leave me comments or questions, or check out my YouTube Videos!

Embossed is the twist over at Twisted Thursday this week.

I chose to combine this vintage design The Write Stuff from MHKDesigns with a flourish embossing folder.   I added some little numbers ~ just seemed to be appropriate!   My paper was laying on the desk.....  I love it when the right paper is just laying there waiting for you!

Be sure to check out what the rest of the Twisted Thursday team has designed! Remember, the twist is optional, so anything goes.  Be sure to share with us whatever is in your workspace; we'd love to see it!

The Morning Sun

It's mid-month and time for another Path of Positivity moment!  Our theme this month, which is always optional, is Birth of New Beginnings.

As I move through the month, I am reminded that every new day is a new beginning.  I wake to see the lovely sun rising over the horizon.  With this new day comes a sort of new opportunity to begin again ~ another example of a sort of 'rebirth' I think.  However I, like this cutie on my card, must have a cup of coffee the size of the sun to start my new beginning every day!  ; )

*   *   *

Material List:
Digi:  Mini Bird Take Out Coffee Cup Set from Limited Runs (There are 2 other stamps in this set!)
Sun Cardstock is from Taste of Summer Kit by Decosse Dynamite Doodles and the entire collection can be seen HERE.

Green, green, green!

Over at Cut It Up our theme is 3 Shades of Green!  When most people think of green and clovers, they think of St. Patrick's Day.  Not me, having done 9 years of 4-H and both kids doing 10 each, my mind goes directly to all those projects, fair, camp, etc.

While my son was in 4-H, he participated in Horse and Pony.  I decided to dive in and took the position of the Hippology leader.  While in that position, I was inspired to write this blessing based on the 4-H pledge for the horse show competitors.

This particular card is going to a first year Horse and Pony student who is like family to me.  Here we go again ~~ another 10 years!  hahahaha

Material List:
Blessing by Katrina
CTMH Cardstock:  Sweet Leaf, Topiary
Embellishments:  Bo Bunny Emerald green gems
Cricut Cut:  CTMH Flower Market

Our challenge this week is sponsored by Heartfelt Creations.  Thanks for coming by today!  We invite you to head over to check out the fun cuts the DT found/designed for this challenge over at Cut It Up.   Feel free to check out other pages/posts, leave me comments or questions, or check out my YouTube Videos!
