Mystical Ponies!

I don't know many little girls who don't dream of riding mystical, magical ponies through a starry night sky!  There's something about this Gorjuss Girls image that made me think of little girl in her night gown and slippers.  I'm sure that's not what the artist intended, but that's what I see.

This card was inspired by the challenge over at The Outlawz Challenges:  Paper Ala Mode where the theme this week is Girl Power!  Make a girly card!

Now, let me preface with I'm not a "colorer" per say!  I sit down to use markers or paints or pencils or  inks and I simply cannot commit!  I find myself reaching for another medium.

I started by embossing some Daisy White cardstock using an M-bossibilities folder.  I then used a stencil from Latina Crafter and E-brushed the stars using a blue Spectrum Noir pen.  Once my stars were set, I used sponges to apply CTMH inks.  The colors are listed below.

I colored the mane and tail with CTMH Water Color pencils and went over them with a Copic and glitter.  The body was colored with Copics.  His tack was colored with a CTMH Honey marker (retired).  The hearts, ribbon, and the little scarf were done with gel pens.  I went back to the Copics for her hair.  Her dress is paper pieced with a scrap.

I was reading a blog the other day where the author was saying she only uses her stamps one or two times.  Yikes, that must get pricey!  Here is a great example of using an older stamp on a birthday card.  I have a tendency to use, reuse, and recycle stamps.  I cut them apart to use different words, mask unicorn horns to make horses, use die cuts to cover parts, etc!

CTMH Inks:  Sky, Gypsy, Sunset, Lagoon, and Pixie

CTMH Cardstock:  Canary, Black, Daisy White, and Dream Pop (long retired!)

CTMH Stamp:  Illuminate

Gorjuss Girl Stamp:  The Runaway

Latina Crafter:  Star Stencil

Misc:  Spare Parts Star Sequins, CTMH clear gem,  E-brush system

Thanks for coming by today to visit!  Hope your day is magical!
