Spooky Treat Box

It's the "unofficial end of Summer" with the Labor Day Weekend here in the US.  That means we start looking toward all the great fall festivals, holidays and dinners!  Autumn is chalked full of celebrations for our family.  In addition to the traditional Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas we have the majority of our family birthdays.  It's definitely a very busy time of year.

We all know what that means to the crafter....crunch time!!!!  Time to "get our game on"!  I've started some Halloween fun with these adorable papers and digi from Winnie Wednesday at Polkadoodles.   This particular digi is Winnie Wednesday Trick or Treat.  You can find her at Polkadoodles with all the downloadable paper and sentiments:  Winnie Wedndesday Full Collection.

The candy (treat) box design is from Kit and Clowder November 2017 Free Book Class.  It makes a book/box for any sort of treat.  Now, I will admit, I tweaked the dimensions some to make it the size I wanted.  I chose to make the base of the "book" out of a cereal box that measured 11.5 inches long; my dimensions ended up being 11.5 inches x 6.75 inches.  My plan is to fill the area with snack size candies for my little grand-girl for a Halloween Treat!

My front picture design (trees, leaves, and path) also comes from a Kit and Clowder Monthly Markers Class:  July 2018.   You can check out the Kit and Clowder FaceBook Page to learn more about classes, contests, freebies, and fun!

I started this project by designing the completed picture in Cricut Design Space.  There I could bring in my Polkadoodles images and roughly place what I wanted to pencil draw later.                                                                                                                                                 I printed (removing the trees, sign post, and path) and cut 1) the coloring panel and 2) the pieces I wanted to cut for the inside of the box.  (See pictures or video below.)                                                                                      After sketching in the path, trees, and sign, I Copic colored my front panel.                                                                                                                                                     I cut all my papers to size to decorate the box and assembled that.  I added the ribbon closure, front panel, fall floral pieces to embellish.

My candy box is off to the following challenges:
