Time for a new challenge at The Outlawz Anything Goes in a Card Free Zone and the optional theme is... Anything Goes!
I saw this idea and thought it would be fun to create a denim wreath out of old blue jeans. We have a few pairs around here! hahaha
This was not difficult, but I will say it was time consuming!
I started with a wire wreath frame and looped denim strips over the wire. I tied them with fishing wire...my favorite craft 'go to' for wreaths and bows! I threw in a few strips of scrap burlap and lace. I only used 3 of the 4 wires on the wreath frame leaving the outer one empty.
I finished it off with a handmade bow with button.
I'd like to tell you how many pair of blue jeans this took, but I had many of the jeans already cut apart from other projects! So, I'm going to guess maybe 2 pair?
Material List:
Old Blue Jeans cut into 1 1/2" x 7" strips
14" Metal Wire Wreath Form
Lace from Old Curtains cut into 1 1/2" x 7" strips
Burlap from Stash cut into 1 1/2" x 7" strips
Fishing Line Omniflex 700 lb
Celebrate it Christmas Noel Wired Ribbon
Sew-ology Wooden Button
Embroidery Floss
Glue Gun (adhere button to bow)

ReplyDeleteThis is FARM-tastic! Farm country-tastic! At first I was thinking folk art style patriotic wreath, which I guess it could be considered however using recycled denims and lace with some beige burlap just gives a great farm country rustic vibe! Woo-wee! Thanks for linking to FQGS!! -- Becca
ReplyDeleteI can't begin to imagine how long this took but so effective with the hessian breaking up the denim colours, many thanks for sharing with us at Allsorts challenge.
