5 Minute Friday on YouTube: Dressing Up Die Cuts

Hey, I'm starting a September YouTube Series you might enjoy!  It was inspired by an idea my son had about making some 5 minute craft videos!  I don't think he thought I could do it....well, he might be right!  The month will tell!  hahaha

PoP Curiosity

Curiosity is the new optional theme over at Path of Positivity!  What makes you curious?  What can we do to inspire curiosity in others?

I chose to repurpose/remake a composition notebook into a book for my 11 year old grandgirl to record things that make her curious!  I thought it would be fun for her to write, draw, hypothesize, dream, record the things that she ponders right now in her life.

Funny how things that ponder an 11 year old also ponder me.  How do lightening bugs (fireflies) work?  Are there fairies, angels, elves?  Why do some people get sick?  Why are there very nice people and others who aren't so nice?  Why do people care about the silly things they do...clothes, stuff, etc?  Why does vanilla smell so good in the bottle, but taste so bad?  (hee hee)  Why is chocolate a boring color but tastes sooooo good!  Yes, there are so many curious things to ponder in life!

Ava School Sign It 2 from Bugaboo makes for the perfect front cover for this special book.  I used paper from Polkadoodles Octavia which has a whimsical butterfly pattern and tags cut with my Cricut.

My pondering book is off to these challenges:
CRAFT:  Back to school
Creative Knockouts:  Something to Say
Crafter's Castle:  AG option Back to School
As You Like It:  Fav way to add text~ for me it is either typed or stamped!  I like typing because I can use so many different fonts and adjust sizes!

Some Twisted Stitching!

It's time for new challenge over at
The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and our optional twist is to incorporate some stitching...real or faux!  That means you can get out all those twines, threads, sewing machine, or a gel pen or colored pencil!  Possibilities are endless!

I used a rustic board print pattern paper from Polkadoodles and combined it with the versatile Happy Flowers Digi Set.  I chose this floral stamp set because there are so many options!  Perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, get well, thinking of you, etc!  You can also use bits and pieces and create backgrounds as I did for this card!

This card was designed in Cricut Design Space using the Print and Cut feature.  I flattened the blooms onto a rectangle shape and cut them from multi media paper so I could do some "faux" water color using Marvy and Tombow markers.  I simply scribble some ink onto a palette (tile from hardware store) and watercolor it on using inexpensive water brushes.  It doesn't take much water at all, so be aware!

My flowers are off to the following challenges:
Try it on Tuesday:  In my garden there is.....

Relax!

Relax is the new optional them over at Path of Positivity!  There are so many ways to encourage those around us to relax and take it easy.  I thought it would be fun to remember some fun relaxing moments my little grandgirl had over the summer.

And talk about relaxing, what could be more relaxing than making a digital scrapbook page!

My page was created in my Notes program on my Mac using the delightful summer themed papers and embellies from Taste of Summer!  The papers are full of texture and summer fun!  Everything you see here is from Decosses Dynamite Doodles Taste of Summer Kit!

Let them eat cake!....with veggies!

There's a new challenge over at A Gem of a Challenge!

The team is challenged to create something related to Cake.
Come and join us at where it is Anything Goes; can't wait to see you there!

My card shows off Plant Pot Bunny from Polkadoodles!  I love carrot cake, but I'll confess this is not my recipe.  So, if anyone tries it before I do, let me know if it is a good one!  I really like a moist carrot cake with cream cheese icing, but I've gotten off track!

About this card...it features a recipe card for a friend who likes recipes!  I thought this bunny would be perfect since she has carrots around her.  I chose to embellish with a large orange gem and some carrots from the Polkadoodles Cottontail Craft Die Set The orange geometric pattern paper is from Polkadoodles Winnie Fruit Punch Paper Heaven 1!

Geometry...I mean Geometric!

It's time for new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and our optional twist is to use a Chevron or Geometric Patterns...not Geometry! Thank goodness for that or I would be in some trouble!  I'm not sure I remember very many formulas, theorems or anything else from HS Geometry for that matter.  Being a music major in college did not require any classes like this in college...whew!

I used this geometric pattern paper from Polkadoodles and combined it with the versatile Happy Flowers Digi Set.  I chose this floral stamp set because there are so many options; you will be seeing more later in the month!

This card was designed in Cricut Design Space using the Print and Cut feature.
