AG na CFZ June

Time for a new challenge at The Outlawz Anything Goes in a Card Free Zone and the optional theme is... Anything Goes!

I saw this idea and thought it would be fun to create a denim wreath out of old blue jeans. We have a few pairs around here!  hahaha

This was not difficult, but I will say it was time consuming!

I started with a wire wreath frame and looped denim strips over the wire.   I tied them with fishing wire...my favorite craft 'go to' for wreaths and bows!  I threw in a few strips of scrap burlap and lace.  I only used 3 of the 4 wires on the wreath frame leaving the outer one empty.

I finished it off with a handmade bow with button.

I'd like to tell you how many pair of blue jeans this took, but I had many of the jeans already cut apart from other projects!  So, I'm going to guess maybe 2 pair?

 Material List:

Old Blue Jeans cut into 1 1/2" x 7" strips
14" Metal Wire Wreath Form
Lace from Old Curtains cut into 1 1/2" x 7" strips
Burlap from Stash cut into 1 1/2" x 7" strips
Fishing Line Omniflex 700 lb
Celebrate it Christmas Noel Wired Ribbon
Sew-ology Wooden Button
Embroidery Floss
Glue Gun (adhere button to bow)

My wreath is off to the following challenges:
Place to Start:  AG + Recycle!  Old blue jeans
FarmQuest General Store:  Anything Farm and/or Country

No Peeking While Picking Bits and Pieces Make an Interesting.....Experiment!

As we meander a Path of Positivity, we are challenging you to Embrace The Unexpected. Of course, you can share anything positive you like, the theme is always optional.

Remember, you may share any sort of artistic medium over at PoP:  writing, cards, journals, scrapbooking, painting, sewing, baking, needle crafts, etc as long as it is positive.  The theme is always optional.

This month we are making an unexpected design.  Be sure to visit Path of Positivity for a description of this!  It's an interesting one!!

I pulled bits and pieces from different bags around my craft room and came up with these items.  Oh, my!  What an assortment I pulled, but I'll be a good sport and use them all without too much cheating!

I pulled a Polkadoodles Christmas piece I had stamped a long time ago on watercolor paper.  So, I pulled watercolor pencils as my medium since it was uncolored.  This was lucky for me and I could color using my choice of colors to match some of the papers I had pulled.  I normally wouldn't use yellow on a Christmas piece.

These were some interesting colors for me as well as unusual die cut pieces I pulled!  I was lucky with the snowflake and kraft, but not so lucky with the summer yellow cardstock and fabric piece!  Then there was the rust flower and blue huge flower...and that turquoise/purple ribbon!  Yikes!

This was a fun experiment and I encourage you to give it a try!

...oh, yes!  I guess I should tell you what it is.  This is a journal card for my journal card box!  This is where I put all my experiments, trial runs, or small sized art pieces!  My box video can be found below.

 *   *   *
Material List:

Polkadoodles Winnie White Christmas Robins with Stockings
CTMH Water Color Pencils
Water Color Paper

Teal Ribbon Remnant from Stash
Old used kraft envelope

Blick Matte Acrylic Pearl White Paint
Dies all pulled from Stash
Piece of Fabric

Trying the Unexpected Through Decluttering!

This month we are creating something unexpected through decluttering!

As I was looking through and making an attempt at some cleaning, I stumbled upon my colored pencils and decided to try some pencil work and stamping in my journal.  I usually turn to my Copic markers and Cricut dies for my creating, so this is a bit different for me.  I don't have a large selection of pencils, but I do have a few; so, I decided to give it a go on this older Gorguss Girl Stamp.  This cute stamp was hidden away with some other stamps!

I also went with a different paper than I would normally choose.  I grabbed some Mead Academie Sketch Paper I found while organizing some paper.

My last unexpected item I found in my craft room is my Spirograph toy!  Yes, I loved this as a kid and have one for my grandgirl, so I decided to get that out for my background!

Now, as for the little embellishments, they were all in stacked ice cream lids where I store "extras" for the future.  Of course, they usually sit there unused, but not this time!  Same goes for the Washi Tape!

I also found lots of adhesive I never use, so I got it out for my journal page.
