Another way to change your environment!

As we meander a Path of Positivity, we are challenging you to Change Your Environment!  Hmm....now that's a bit different!

If you are looking for fun ideas or ways to change your current environment, you might enjoy checking out my post at the beginning of the month:  Change It Up!

This post I'm sharing my plan to change up my environment.  My hope is to plant a butterfly humming bird sort of garden out in front of my barn.  I have an old horse trough with holes that will act as my oversized planter.  Where I live we still had frost advisories this past week, so I've waited to actually do this so I might have some success!  ;)

I'll post some pics as I venture into this; it might be a catastrophe, but that's what taking the chance and changing things is all about!

*   *   *

   We'd like
to hear your ideas at Path of Positivity!  Come share them with us!

Remember, you may share any sort of artistic medium over at PoP:  writing, cards, journals, scrapbooking, painting, sewing, baking, needle crafts, etc as long as it is positive!  The theme is always optional.

As we meander a Path of Positivity, we are challenging you to Change Your Environment!  Hmm....now that's a bit different!

I was so inspired by this cutie from All Dressed Up!  She is definitely changing her environment by painting up some colorful flowers!!  How fun is that!

There are so many ways to change your environment to make it a happier place without spending a ton of money!

Here are just a few ideas:

Paint a room

Paint an old chair
Hang a different picture
Get a new scented candle
Hang grandma's old blanket over a chair
Make a new piece of art and enter it at Path of Positivity

So, are you inspired to shake it up a bit?  Try something a little different and change your environment?  Let us know what you are doing!

Art Journaling in my New Book!

My first entry in my new art journal; does it surprise anyone the theme is horses?  I love this stamp from Duff's Designs (now retired, I think).  It reminds me of an era long gone, but the feeling a woman has for her horse is the same now as it was 100 years ago!  I love the rustic elegance of this stamp!

I chose to start towards the middle of the book where there was a nice wood-board page perfect for my focal image and the opposing page was plain graph paper.  There's something about using ledger, notebook, and graph paper for art that really inspires me.  Probably says something about my rebellious side!  haha  I don't want to do what the paper has intended, so I do art on it!  ;)

I stamped and colored the image and then tore and distressed the edges.  I added lace and burlap behind the torn edge and topped with a bow.  I colored the lace and bow with dyes/inks to match the pages.  I stamped the page and found some scraps to add behind the image.  The metal stud just seemed right!  I love adding metals to laces and bows; that look really works for me!

I did some floral background stamping and color distressing to the opposing page with some horses running along the bottom of the page.  The quote is from the focal stamp set and the floral embellishment was made from some scraps on the table!  (Love it when that happens!)  Again, I dyed the scraps to match my colors.

I can choose to write something on this page or adhere a picture of one of my guys!  Not sure which yet....maybe both!

Father's Day....oh my!

So many of us struggle with Father's Day or any other Masculine type card, so Cut It Up is helping out with some Masculine Card inspiration!

My card...well if a picture is worth a thousand words, what's a video worth?  In the video below, I explain how this card was set up in Cricut Design Space.
Check it out below!

Now as for my lawnmower, I rubbed the pieces over a Versa Mark stamp pad and then covered them in Stampendous Embossing Powder.  I then heat embossed!  I did this 3 times to get the shiny look.
