A Little Christmas Cocoa!

The new theme for the Cut It Up challenge is Christmas in July!  What a great way to get a jump on the season!

This time our challenge is sponsored by My Scrap Chic and I chose to work with Cup of Cocoa, Chunkie Square Envelope, and Merry Christmas Circle.  Now, this die cut cup is perfect for inserting an envelope of cocoa, tea bags, gift cards or other.  The envelope is a perfect fit for the added goodies and includes a liner pattern!

I used papers from Polkadoodles Winnie White Christmas, a little distressing ink, a brad, and a bit of string to tie it all together!

Sending a little holiday cheer to the following challenges:

Die Cuttin Divas:  Christmas in July
Fab 'n' Funky:  Christmas in July
Mod Squad:  Christmas in July

When you visit the Cut It Up blog, have fun viewing the DT projects and check out the rules and prize info.  Then be sure to share your project with us ~ don't forget the die cut to have a chance to win a prize from our amazing sponsors.

24 Carrot Friend

I am so enjoying the new stamps from the Polkadoodles Great Outdoors Critters Cardmaking Collection.  This collection is great fun and full of endless opportunity for all kinds of projects!

24 Carrot Friend
Stamp set has 17 stamps included; I used 3 of them on my card.  The MISTI made the repeated carrot pattern easy to line up and create a garden any bunny would love.

This stamp set is available in several different collections. The floral background paper is from the Great Outdoors/Critters Cardmaking Collection. This collection also comes with 2 additional Stamp Sets, 3 Die Sets, and a stack of eight gorgeous patterned papers.

A bit of rafia and Stickles and this bunny is ready to garden!

She will be visiting the following challenges:

Wanted in the Country!

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday; the twist for our anything goes challenge is Country and Western.

Now, as one might imagine, country is no problem when it comes to crafting over here and I decided to use our sponsor's digi Cowboy's Dreams from Pattie's Creations in my little Cowboy/Cowgirl journal.  I use this journal for fun quotes, pictures, and digis that follow the horse theme.  It's a great place to play with ideas, techniques, and my own personal written journaling that I add later.

I put in the wagon wheel and wanted posters from Design Space on the background.  I kept the wheel very light so it would definitely stay in the background since I want to do some journaling/titling over this.  My focal image is Copic colored and popped at the bottom on 3-D tape to make it look like it's leaning back on the wheel.

I added some hand drawn barbed wire (which would never be on a horse farm, just saying) and some bronze splatters.  Of course, there had to be a lasso to adorn the corner!  ๐Ÿ˜‰

This picture is 7 years old now, but I just love the way they are looking at each other!  Harry, the horse, is the horse every REAL cowboy would love to befriend.  He was the most handsome, yet cantankerous QH around!  Don't get me wrong, Keith loved this horse and they did quite well together; but there were days!  Oh my, there were days!

Bunch of Pups!

More Water Color!

I am so enjoying the new stamps from the Polkadoodles Great Outdoors Critters Cardmaking Collection.  This collection is so fun and the perfect opportunity for some Inktense water color pencil art.

Woof You stamp set has 16 stamps included; I used 4 of them on my card masking as I added the pups.  I stamped the far right and left pups first using my MISTI.  I masked them and then stamped the large pup.  I masked him and finally the little guy was added!

This stamp set is available in several different collections. The background paper is from the Great Outdoors/Critters Cardmaking Collection. This collection also comes with 2 additional Stamp Sets, 3 Die Sets, and a stack of eight gorgeous patterned papers.

A bit of ribbon, twine and a few gems and this group is ready to go!

Under the Sea

The new theme for the Cut It Up challenge is Under the Sea!  How fun is that for a Summer Theme!!

This time our challenge is sponsored by Cutting Cafe who provided us with Mixed Shapes Album Book and Under the Sea Printable Stamp Set.  The Album Shapes are perfect for a wonderful journal/book, but I decided to go a different direction to make a card using 2 of the page shapes.  This was a fun way to show some Sea themed paper from behind!

I simply welded the two book shapes together in Cricut Design Space and added the score line.  While I was in DS, I added a border to the right inside of the card and printed the adorable little Cutting Cafe blow fish flattened onto a circle along with a few more circles in the same border paper. (That paper is from my Polkadoodles stash.)

The M-Bossabilities embossing folder is actually flowers, but I thought these flowers looked a little like underwater seaweed, coral, and such.  Assembly was easy as I adhered circles and the Copic colored fish and it was done!

This little cutie is swimming off to the following challenges:

Hello!

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday; the twist for our anything goes challenge is Wags N' Whiskers and what could be more "purr-fect" than Allie in Fishbowl from Pattie's Creations

Now, I'm sure Allie is simply saying "hello" to her little fish friend!  I can't imagine there is anything "fishy" intended here!  Hee hee

I kept my design very clean here just to drive home the story of Allie.  I placed the 'HELLO' image from Artbooking on the card in Design Space and added Allie along the top of it.  Polka-dotted papers and added dots with 3-G Glitter Glue to the background bring it together along with a simple complementary color palette.

Be sure to visit

Water Color Bear!

Hey, it's Water Color Month!

Ok, let's back up about six weeks and reminisce (a bit of sarcasm here, hahaha) about my trip to Cleveland.  Kelly (my wonderful husband) and I took a trip to Cleveland Clinic to figure out some health stuff.  I was poked, poked, and poked some more.  Yikes....lots of neuro stuff with needles!  I did not enjoy
this vacation, but since I was a good patient and did what I was supposed to do, Kelly took me to Blick Art Materials and out to lunch!  Whoo hoo!

I've always wanted to try the Derwent Inktense Pencils; so, I purchased a small bundle on sale ...as well as some other goodies!  I must admit, I thought Blick's was only on line; I had no idea they have physical locations since there are none around me in Indiana.  I had a great time browsing around the store!

Fast forward a few weeks when the new Polkadoodles Great Outdoors Critters Cardmaking Collection was released.   This collection is waaaaay too much fun and the perfect opportunity to try my new pencils!  Yay!

Beary Great Day Stamp Set has 14 stamps included; I used eight of them on my card.  The background paper is also from the collection and there are eight gorgeous patterns in the stack.  The collection also comes with 2 additional Stamp Sets, 3 Die Sets, and another Paper Stack in Solid Colors.

Stay tuned for more water color adventures this month!

My bear will continue to go after this honey pot while visiting the following challenges:

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday; the twist for our anything goes challenge is Wings or Scales!

This sweet image, 3 Birdhouses, is from Pattie's Creations, our sponsor this month!  I was so attracted to the country charm in this lovely digi and since here in the US we are celebrating the 4th of July, I couldn't resist using a mostly red, white and blue color scheme!

I added the bird dies with 3-D tape, embossing, some ribbon, twine, and HOME sentiment and this card is ready for new home, baby, adoption, welcome home, etc.

Party!

Have I mentioned how versatile these Ruby images are!  Yep, if you saw my earlier post today, you know my last Prom Ruby was quite different than this Party Girl!  Hee hee!

This fun digi, Ruby Party Girl, is ready to 'shake it up' on a card.  This cutie was just shouting for some bright colors and fun.  Sooo, I went with a bright green frame cut from Feel the Music and fun confetti style paper from the Little Monsters Printable Papers.

Old Prom Picture!

Ruby is looking at some old pictures laying on Nana Ruby's dresser and she now knows where she got all that style!

I can't help but look at this and see a picture of my mom from the '50's which inspired me to go in the "vintage'y', old photo" direction.

This beautiful digi is Ruby Prom.  I was drawn to Winnie in Wonderland and added the teacup ephemera card and gold polkadot paper.  Then I went with the Belle Papillon ephemera letter and butterfly paper.  Instead of inking, I used gold metallic paint to edge out the pieces to add some shimmer.

Her corsage is from the flower petals in Horace and Boo Floral Foliage.  Who knew those cutie animals had such gorgeous flower makings!  ๐Ÿ˜‰
I imported them into Design Space and cut them from the Winnie in Wonderland gold polkadot paper.

I am so enjoying coloring these images since the designs lend themselves to so many artistic styles and creativity!  Don't enjoy coloring?  They also come pre-colored in sets and individually and as a topper bundle!
