Polkadoodles Spring Tag

It's time for a new challenge over at Digi Choosday!  Our DT's theme is Use a Design Sheet! If you are new to Design Sheets, I invite you to pop over to Polkadoodles and check them out!  You can feed them into your cutting system or hand cut what you want after printing them on your home printer.

You can find the Helga Design Sheet Elements I used in Helga Hippo Design Sheet 10 Duo and Helga Hippo Design Sheet 11 Duo.  You can find all the Helga Design Sheets in the Helga Hippo Design Sheets Bundle or the Helga Hippo-Big Kahuna VIP Bundle.  I have also added a sentiment from the Helga Hippo collection found in the Big Kahuna Bundle or the Helga Hippo Sentiments Download Bundle.  The background papers are also from the Helga Hippo Collection.

I chose to upload the pre-colored elements and sentiment into Cricut Design Space and flatten them onto a tag shape. I cut the rain boots, hearts and two more tags separately.  I adhered the tags and popped the rain boots with dimensional tape.  I added the little hearts and some pink gems to sprinkle down the tag!  A little edge inking, ribbon and lace finished it up!

Since all the Design Sheet elements are already colored, this is a quick and fun way to make a lovely project!

Remember, when you visit the Digi Choosday Site to pick up your discount code to Polkadoodles; it's good all day Tuesday!  (Sale ends midnight GMT; for us in the US, be sure to visit earlier in the day!) It's a great time to pick up those digi's you've had your eye on!

My tag is off to the following challenges:

Take Note!

Well, you might say this challenge would be my forte since my real job for many years was/is music.  Yes, in my real life I was an oboist playing mostly chamber music in a quintet.  I also did some recording work as well as orchestral, liturgical, and other chamber playing.  In my current life, I still teach oboe to some wonderful students.

When I saw the theme for Cut It Up this time, I was excited and chose to make a notebook.  CAS-ual Friday Stamps sent us dies to use and I was lucky to receive the eighth note die.  These are lovely dies and cut beautifully!  I cut two of these and adhered some twine between them to create a bookmark for my notebook.

Material List
Note Die from  CAS-ual Friday Stamps
Paper:  Polkadoodles
Flowers:  Prima
Treble Clef clip:  Spare Parts
Black CS and Twine:  CTMH

You will want to hop on over to Cut It Up to check out the details on the prize and requirements!

Thanks for dropping by; it's always fun to have company!  Feel free to peruse other pages/posts, leave me a question/comment, visit my Pinterest Page, or view some YouTube Videos at my Channel.

Look Alike!

Time for a new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday!  Our theme this week, which is always optional is Look Alike and our sponsor for the month is Limited Runs.

I chose to use a Coffee Quote that is no longer available.  It was free during the Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop from Limited Runs!

I used a cut from The Cutting Cafe to make this gift card holder.  The Polkadot paper is from Polkadoodles.  The other cardstock and chevron embossing folder is from CTMH.  Now, those adorable coffee cups that bring my quote to life are from Latina Crafter.  Aren't they adorable!

Remember, we have a twist, but really anything goes.  Be sure to share with us whatever is in your workspace; we'd love to see it!

Special Birthday!

It's time for a new challenge over at Digi Choosday!  Our DT's them is Special Birthdays!  My birthday card features Winnie from Winnie in Wonderland.  The digi and paper can be found in the Winnie in Wonderland Big Kahuna Download.  Winnie Wonderland Time Will Tell Digi can be found HERE.  Happy Birthday to Anjie!!

I started this project with the blue card base cut using the Polkadoodles Elegant Card 2 SVG Cutting File in Cricut Design Space.  I also cut the front panel and inside of the card with the same file.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is computer generated.  For the front panel, I flattened that adorable digi and pattern paper onto the selected shape.  Next, print and cut!

After everything was cut, I Copic colored Winnie and adhered a small gem to the clock.

To add a festive touch, I thought it might be fun to add some matching stone jewels to the card!  This is part of an old broken necklace I recycled to add a bit of bling.  I cut enough of it to go down the front of the card and hand-stitched the ends to a gold thread.

My birthday card is off to the following challenges:

TTCRD:  AG
Craft Rocket Challenge:  Inspired by a Book or Movie ~ Alice in Wonderland
Addicted to Stamps:  Not a Square Card
Pile it On:  Interactive and /or Birthday ~ Birthday
Die Cut Divas:  Birthdays

Beauty in Nature

Spring is definitely a time of beauty and a wonderful time for our theme over at  Path of Positivity:  Beauty in Nature!

This wonderful image and sentiment from Sparkle n Sprinkle are in the Rustic Flowers Set.  I love going outside and seeing all the beautiful wild flowers coming up around the farm fields.  This old pitcher full of flowers is such a lovely reminder of Spring.

I decided to give some water coloring a try this month.  I'm not very proficient, but it was fun to get out of the zone and try something a little different.

Our challenge this month is generously sponsored by Sprinkle N Sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by; PoP on over to the challenge and see what the rest of the team is doing and share with us your thoughts, art, and inspirations!  Our themes are optional now, so we'd love to see anything positive you've been working on even if it doesn't exactly fit the theme.

Easter Candy Bar Boxes!

Need a last minute Easter project?  I enjoyed making these candy bar boxes!  Simple print your pattern and cut your paper!  The most difficult part was sizing my paper before printing so my scene would show up the way I wanted it!  That is a huge advantage to printing downloadable paper!

Candy Bar Box pattern from Digital Delights
Winnie in Wonderland Paper from Polkadoodles

My boxes are going off to the following challenges:
TTCRD:  AG
Craft Rocket Challenges:  Inspired by a book or movie ~ Alice in Wonderland

Outlawz Down on the Farm!

Time for a new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday!  Our theme this week, which is always optional is Down on the Farm and our sponsor for the month is Limited Runs.

I chose to use the Mini Bird Take Out Coffee Set and combine it to cuts from Cricut Old West and Cricut Country Life.  I created the card front in Design Space where I flattened my two cut images.  I also flattened the sentiment; the 'on the farm' part is computer generated, but the "A Little Coffee is a great thing" is from the digital stamp set.  The little chick and her huge coffee (yum) is colored with copics and adhered with 3-D foam tape.  The front panel is then adhered to a cardstock base.

When you visit me and my scrappy horses on our farm, you'll want a lot of coffee just like my little chick!  ;)

Remember, we have a twist, but really anything goes.  Be sure to share with us whatever is in your workspace; we'd love to see it!

Happy Easter, Helga!

I thought it might be fun to make a shaker box for some Easter goodies!  Helga looks so lovely in what might be her Easter Bonnet; she and the butterflies can be found in the Helga Hippo Design Sheet Duo, Helga Hippo Design Sheets Download Bundle or Helga Hippo - Big Kahuna VIP Download Bundle.  The frame is cut from Winston Collection paper.   The box itself is cut from the Distressed Wood Printable Papers Download.

These beautiful Design Sheets make crafting fun and easy!  When there is little or no time for coloring, the design sheets are the perfect way to add fun to any project!  My Helga image and the butterflies are all from design sheets!

I chose to weld the Helga image to the frame in Design Space and then adhere the acetate to the backside.  The sentiment was printed on computer and that piece of cardstock is the back of the shaker.  I then adhered the entire shaker to the box.

I added some beads to the butterflies and glued them to the tulle bow.

Case-ing My Friends!

This week over at Cut It Up our theme is Case a DT and as always -  Use a Die Cut.  We were assigned a DT member to case and I was so lucky to case Esther.  Her beautiful card is below or you can check it out at her blog HERE!

Now, here is my story:  I was so enamored with this card, but I couldn't for the life of me find a cut I liked in my stash.  Then there was figuring out exactly how she did this.....  I pondered, searched, and almost gave up on this particular card to "case."  Esther has lots of amazing cards, I could've moved on to another choice, but I was obsessed with this one!

So, I'm not really sure I "cased" this; actually it might truly be more of an inspiration to my card.  None the less, here it is!

My inspirations from her card are the following:  silhouette, feminine, fabric, jewels/gems, flowers, patterned background paper.

So, now it's your turn to give this a try!  Simply choose a card to "case" and tell us who you "cased"!   Include a picture of your project and a photo of the project you chose.   I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with this theme!  I'm hoping we do this again in the future; there are lots of projects from out DT I would love to investigate further!

Our challenge is sponsored by Heartfelt Creations.

Beauty of Nature

It's time for a new theme over at Path of Positivity.  This month we are exploring the Beauty of Nature.  Spring is such a lovely time of year here in the midwestern US.  Yes, it's true we do have lots of rain and the mud gets pretty gushy, but we do have some beautiful color in the budding trees and flowering plants.

Around my house, we enjoy the return of birds, bunnies, squirrels, etc.  Years ago when the kids lived at home we had the joy of new baby goats in the barn.  There's nothing cuter than new kids; they are adorable literally springing around the barn!  A trip to the local TSC is a sure reminder of Spring as we see the new arrival of baby bunnies and chicks in the store.  So much beauty everywhere we go!

Spring is definitely a time of beauty and the perfect time for our theme!

The image I chose from Sparkle n Sprinkle is Easter Bunny and Chicks.  I thought it was a great example of chicks hatching, flowers blooming and bunnies out playing in the new spring grass!

Our challenge this month is generously sponsored by Sprinkle N Sparkle.

My bunny is off to:
Alphabet Challenge Blog:  B is for Bunnies
Just Add Ink:  Just Add Critters

Thanks for stopping by; PoP on over to the challenge and see what the rest of the team is doing and share with us your thoughts, art, and inspirations!  Our themes are optional now, so we'd love to see anything positive you've been working on even if it doesn't exactly fit the theme.
