Wheels

  It's time for a new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and the optional twist is:  Wheels!  Wow, there are lots of ways one can use wheels!

I've chosen a wagon wheel for my project; I thought it would be the perfect western icon for this lovely PRE-COLORED cowgirl from Gecko Galz!  This Rodeo Queen is quite lovely, but I have to say I'm more taken by her horse!  He has such beautiful, soft eyes!  Looks like a Western Pleasure mount to me...or possibly even English Pleasure!  hee hee

I framed them out with some rustic flowers and added a few little blue gems!

    Material List

Photography in Crafting

As we meander a Path of Positivity, we are challenging you to enjoy some Quiet Time and share with us how you do that!

I really enjoy being outside and spending quiet time out in the barn.  I also enjoy photography and seem to feel very peaceful when photographing flowers, horses, barns and such.

So, I decided to make a Christmas Card with this photo I took back in April with the snow covering the new spring blossoms!

*   *   *
I framed my photo with Bubbly Circle Frame Doodle from Tindaloo.  Instead of coloring, I decided to try something different.  I pulled out all my shades of pink, clear, and gold glues/liquid pearls and colored in the circles using them!

The sparkly pinks and gold made for a wonderful frame!   I added some black Stickles to the inside dots.  My sentiment is from Cricut Print and Cut.  A gold strip and bow finish off the card!

*   *   *

   We'd like to hear your ideas at Path of Positivity!  Come share them with us!

Remember, you may share any sort of artistic medium over at PoP:  writing, cards, journals, scrapbooking, painting, sewing, baking, needle crafts, etc as long as it is positive!  The theme is always optional.

Fall is in the Air!

 Our new challenge over at Cut It Up is Fall is in the Air!  Well, not here on the day I write this post!  haha  The high today is predicted is 95 degrees and the heat index is expected to hit 105 or higher!  UGH!!  That's too hot and muggy for me; it's good to be inside writing blog posts!

I do look forward to fall, as it is definitely my favorite time of year!  I love to put on my boots and go out to the barn to hang with my horses.  I also enjoy hiking, really just walking, at the state parks and viewing the wildlife and leaves.

That is what inspired this layout in my art journal!  I wanted some pages about what I love about fall.  This digi from Hetty Clare is so perfect and the paper from an old DCWV paper stack seemed to sum up my thoughts and feelings about Fall!

BOW-nanza at Twisted Thursday!

 It's time for a new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and the optional twist is:  BOW-nanza!  It's always Anything Goes; but if you choose to play the twist, use a bow on your project!

Although I haven't done much sewing lately, I really do enjoy sitting at my machine!  My mom taught me to sew for 4-H and I remember seeing sewing patterns in her stash that looked very much like the ones on this paper from Gecko GalzSo, I thought this would make the perfect gift bag for her birthday!

I've chosen to make a little gift bag with this delightful retro pattern.  I went into Cricut Design Space and used the Print and Cut option.  I combined this wonderful vintage sewing print with a box/bag/basket pattern from CTMH Art Philosophy.

I cut my bow on the Cricut also using a die/pattern from Polkadoodles Work and Play: Love and Kisses!  I added twine for a handle.

    Material List

Bow: digital die from Polkadoodles W & P Love and Kisses

My Quiet Time

As we meander a Path of Positivity, we are challenging you to enjoy some Quiet Time and share with us how you do that.

I don't do well with Quiet Time/Meditation in a traditional sort of sense since I like to be busy.  I tried meditating once and I fell asleep!  Hmm....

I find my "down time" is better spent working in the barn, enjoying the outdoors, or designing in the craft room. For this post, I'll elaborate on the craft room.

I seem to really "get in the zone" creating/playing in art journals with different mediums, designing scrapbook pages, making cards, coloring, etc.  I can lose all track of time and space in here!  ;)  I especially find myself relaxing when I'm creating in my journal.

*   *   *
Art Journaling is relaxing for me since it's a lot of "working outside the box" for me!  I enjoy trying new techniques and experimenting in my journals.  This journal is one I made myself and included many different paper types.  I chose the back of a page I had done before and some of the blue ink had come through the ledger paper.  That was ok with me; gave me a head start!

I did brush clear gesso on this page to keep the new ink from going through to the page I had already done.  Once dry, I added some Pearl White Blick paint in the center; it has a sort of shine to it.  On top of the gesso, the paint had a fun texture, also!  Added bonus to using the gesso!

I then stamped all the background, edges, and file card.  I glued in the file card to make a pocket and put my focal image on top of that.  I slid in a little note card.    All that was left was adding sequins, the keyring with jingle bell, and ribbon.

This delightful guy, Doodle Jingle Elf, is from Tindaloo.  We are excited to share art from this new sponsor!  Be sure to check out her Etsy Store for some relaxing coloring!  She has frames, Christmas, flowers, etc all in a fun doodling style!

Princess Meets K&C Class

I have combined the lovely Princess alone from Conie Fong called Princess Aria Fairytale Cottage with the July Kit and Clowder Class titled Beary Nice .

The Conie Fong bundle comes with 3 images:  Princess alone, background, and Princess with background.  This set comes in JPG and PNG formats!

I started by drawing in the background since the class came with the original image and I wanted to use Princess Aria.  After drawing in everything, I colored up the background following the class.  I then colored up Princess Aria who was in an earlier K&C Pencil Class!

You can learn more about Conie and her art on her Etsy Site or Facebook.  There is also a challenge site for Conie Fong images:  Conie Fong FaceBook Challenge.  Everyone is invited to join and play along using Conie Fong images!

The challenge at Conie Fong FaceBook Challenge has 2 challenges every month:  one for completed projects and one for coloring only.

To learn more about Kit and Clowder Classes, visit the site HERE!  You can also see information specifically on the Monthly Markers Class or the Monthly Pencils Class!
