She Will Steal Your Heart!

I had great fun with this Valentine card for a 4-H'r who shows pigs!  I used Lulu and Lonny Bundle of Love Bundle from Conie Fong as my focal image.  I combined Lulu with the bucket of hearts digi; both are from the bundle as well as the sentiment and two other stamps I will feature in February!

Point of View

Our new challenge over at Cut It Up is Point of View ~ Use something representing viewing scenes or capturing views! Camera, binoculars, glasses, microscope, telescope, magnifying glass, film, photo, etc.

I have chosen to make a scrapbook layout using the Viewfinder reels as my representation of viewing scenes.  I don't have my photo yet, but I plan to use a photo of my 5 yr old grandgirl playing with an old View-master at Nana's house;  this is one of her favorite toys here!

The Viewfinder reels coming out of the envelope are held in place with magnets and not glued in.  That way, notes can be written on the back or more pictures can be adhered!

The View-finder Reels are from The Cutting Cafe and include so much more than I have used here!  You can use this wonderful set to create cards, invitations, embellishments, etc.  There are printed labels, a shaped card base, and ideas for layering this fun set!

Come share your ideas with us featuring "your view" and don't forget the die cut(s)!!

Goals...

As we continue down a Path of Positivity,  I'm ready to set some goals for a positive year!

Look for the Positive is our first optional theme.
In my first blogpost of the month, I shared some ideas on how we might make this a positive year.  In that post I mentioned setting some new goals, well here is one of my goals!  No, it's not to get a really cool car!  hahaha

I want to get out of my comfort zone and build up confidence in a few areas of my life.  As far as crafting goes, my goal is to create some pieces that I would normally not attempt!  This incredible digi from SheepSki Designs has been in my stash for awhile and I've never had the confidence/courage to attempt it.  So, I broke out the Copics and went to work.  Maybe this will lead to more confidence in other areas of my life as well, and this new found confidence will empower a more positive attitude!

There are many ways to make this a super year and we'd love to hear your ideas at Path of Positivity!  Come share theme with us!

Remember, you may share any sort of artistic medium over at PoP:  writing, cards, journals, scrapbooking, painting, sewing, baking, needle crafts, etc as long as it is Positive!  The theme is always optional.

Back in Time

Our new challenge over at Cut It Up is to Go Back in Time ~ It may be a new year, but we want you to take us to a decade before the year 2000!  You can transport us to your decade via a theme, icon, phrase, image, or stash item.  Be sure to tell us the decade!

*   *   *

I've chosen to go back to the 1950's/1960's with this card!  The polka dots, yellow dress color, and Shirley Temple doll look scream out the 50's!  The bouffant hair and headband take us into 1960's fashion.  As for the background paper and large daisy flower, they are reminiscent of the 1960's.

Now, what you might not know is the American originated word 'nifty' is possibly short for magnificent and has been around since the mid-19th century (1860's).

Now, the little 'jacks' are here representing the game that was very popular in the in 1950's/60's, although this game's origins go waaaay back!  ;)  I'll let you do the research on that one!

Ok, enough history today!  Come share your ideas with us featuring a former decade and don't forget the die cut!!

Speaking of PoP.....
Look for the Positive is our first optional theme.
How do we make this a positive year?  Well, here are some ideas you might enjoy trying:

Make some fun goals and put them in a journal
Create some motivational posters/wall hangings
Design a calendar with ideas for the year
Send some funny or encouraging cards to friends/relatives

There are many ways to make this a super year and we'd love to hear your ideas at Path of Positivity!  Come share theme with us!

About this flute notebook.  I decided it would be fun to set my little grand girl up for great success this year in her music.  She has started band and plays the flute.  Now, you might not know this about me, but in my 'real life' I studied oboe, played professionally, and still teach lessons.

I know it makes for an easier lesson if all your information is together in one place.  I also know I feel much more positive and excited about something if I'm improving.  Therefore, I wanted to make a book where Lucy could keep her lesson assignments, progress, and questions.

Winter Scene

Happy New Year!

Our new challenge over at Cut It Up is to Create A Winter Scene!

I chose to make a card using a cut from Create A Critter.  I used two of the solid igloo images and welded them together inserting a rectangle between the two.  This created my card base.  Next I flattened my digi penguin onto the top layer of the igloo cut.  It was just that easy!

Come share your interpretation of this theme and don't forget the die cut!
