Quotes and Coffee!

It's time for new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and our optional twist is Hot Beverage.  What is better than a nice hot cup of coffee on a cool/cold fall morning?

This month we are showing our gratitude to all of our sponsors throughout 2018 in a Sponsor Showcase Month.  You will see us highlighting some of our favorite digis from our generous sponsors.

I'm starting off the month with a digi from Dragon's Lair called Summer Beauty. (I believe she might be retired, as I don't see her at Dragon's Lair currently.  However, you'll find several great digis, papers, kits, etc.)  I have colored her simply with colored pencils. This lovely digi was then combined with a retired journal card from Prima, some ribbon and the quote.

The oval frame is die cut with Cricut Gypsy Wandrings and embossed using a Spellbinders M-bossabilities folder.  The sentiment banner is from Artiste with Ashtyn's Alphabet font.

She is off to the following Challenges:
Die Cuttin Divas:  AG with Die Cuts
Paper Minutes:  Coffee or Tea ~ Coffee!

Be sure to visit
The Outlawz Twisted Thursday for all the details about the challenge and to check out all fun inspiration from the DT and participants!

A Christmas Tradition

Christmas/Winter! That's what the Digi Choosday Team is sharing this week.  Of course, it's always Anything Goes for all of your entries; so come join us for a chance to win some Polkadoodles digis!

At our house, we celebrate on Christmas morning with a huge brunch!  We wake up, pour the coffee, and open up the socks!  After socks, we have more coffee, get dressed and head to the barn to feed horses.  Then we come in for breakfast which always includes waffles or pancakes!  Yummmy!  After breakfast, we open gifts and play with our new toys!  ;)

I decided it would be fun to gift that tradition of pancakes/waffles to friends and family this year by giving them syrup and pancake mix.  Li'l Miss Sugarpops Pancake Heaven combined with the tags from Baked with Love make the perfect tags for my gift!

I printed the Pancake Heaven digis onto the PRE-COLORED tags and colored her with Copic markers.  Each one is colored a little differently for fun!

CASE a Project!

The new theme for the Cut It Up challenge is Just in C.A.S.E. (case another crafter's project)!  Don't forget your die cuts!!

I checked around Pinterest for some interesting projects and found these two very interesting and different than any other tags I had made before:

Tag 1  or https://www.pinterest.com/pin/162692605273786205/
Tag 2  or https://www.pinterest.com/pin/162692605273786005/

I couldn't decide on one or the other, so I combined them to make my tags!  As some of you know, I have a lot of trouble CASE-ing projects!  I just can't seem to copy someone else's work.  I try, but then my own brain gets involved and takes off on its own tangent!  ; ) I hope you can see how I was inspired by the rosettes, the vintage background, the jingle bell, the middle embellishments on the rosettes, etc.

The Straight Edge Rosettes and the Night Before Christmas Tags are both from My Scrap Chic ~ our sponsor this time!  The pattern papers were both in my stash.  The red paper is from CTMH and the black pattern is from Colorbok Wild Rose.  I believe both of these are retired, but worked well for the vintage look I was looking to achieve with the beautiful tag print-outs!

The embellishments include the following:
Old lace
Polkadot ribbon
Jingle Bell
Black Button
Twine
White Glass Gem
Clear Acrylic Snowflake

My Tags are off to the following challenges:
Classic DT:  AG
ABC Christmas:  V is for Very Quick!  These tags were quick to put together!
Crafter's Castle:  AG option Winter/Christmas
Crafting with an Attitude:  AG
Crimbo Crackers:  AG Christmas

When you visit the Cut It Up blog, have fun viewing the DT projects and check out the rules and prize info.  Then be sure to share your project with us ~ don't forget the die cut to have a chance to win a prize from our amazing sponsors.

White Chocolate Mocha! Soooo Sweeeet!

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday; the twist for our anything goes challenge is Something Sweet! For me, that would be a White Chocolate Mocha Cappuccino!  Yummy!!

This Autumn digi stamp, Fall Love from Time for Tea, seemed perfect since a hot cup of mocha cappuccino is a fall love of mine!  She is colored with Copics.

The sentiments, cups, and coffee beans are all from Cricut Design Space.  I used the "print and cut" as well as the "print" features.  The cups on either side of her are printed, cut, and adhered with 3-D tape.

Be sure to visit
The Outlawz Twisted Thursday for all the details about the challenge and to check out all fun inspiration from the DT and participants!

She is off to share her sweet coffee at the following challenges:

Spooky Trouble

One night, one very troubled spooky night looooong ago, this opera diva from Feel the Music ventured into the unknown and asked for more than she was ready to face!  Her chemical concoction, given to her by the maniacal conductor, turned the opera stage into a scary graveyard setting (from Winnie Wednesday papers) full of creepy crawlies and Little Monsters from the land of Polkadoodles.  The Prima Donna disappeared into the night.

It is said, every Halloween, this lovely diva returns to the stage and sings her haunting aria in lieu of the famous soprano who is scheduled and then fades away as quickly as she had appeared.

*   *   *

Ooooh, scary! That's what the Digi Choosday Team is sharing this week....Scary Projects...but not too scary!  ; )  Of course, it's always Anything Goes for all of your entries; so come join us for a chance to win some Polkadoodles digis!

A Little More Purple

As we continue the journey through the colors over at the Path of Positivity we are at midway in October with shades of purple.  If you would like more information about purple, please refer back to my earlier blog about this fun, fall color Here!

This lovely quote inspired the colors of the flowers, crimson and yellow, to go along with the purple.  Autumn is my favorite time of year and it definitely does create a special mood in me!  I'm much more positive and happy breathing in the crisp, cool air and seeing all the gorgeous colors in nature.  The feel of sweaters and jeans and taste of hot chili are so comforting to me!

As for my purple card, I decided to go with Scarecrow Girl from Limited Runs;  she has the sweetest face and I couldn't resist this amazing dress!  She was colored with Copic markers.

I have included these cuts/prints:
Sunflower from CTMH Flower Market
Sentiment font is Chloe Whimsy in Design Space

Papers are from:
CTMH ~ Purple large polkadot and crimson red colored paper
Not sure of the actual names of papers above (retired)
Recollections ~ Purple Sparkly

Scarecrow Girl is off to the following challenges:

Addicted to Stamps:  Autumn Colors (I used Crimson, Yellow, Purple)
Aud Sentiments:  Halloween/Fall Sentiment
Sisterhood of Crafters:  Cute Spooks

This lovely chemistry teacher, ....I mean Witchy Polly from Time for Tea, is definitely brewing up some sort of chemical concoction!

Purple Little Witch Tag

As we continue the journey through the colors over at the Path of Positivity we have come to the Purples.  Now, I have to admit, purple was my favorite color as a young girl!  Of course, that may have been influenced by my love of Donny Osmond who also loved the color purple...according to Tiger Beat Magazine!  hahaha

Did you know that purple is the 2nd best loved color by women; purple is 2nd to blue only by 2% according to one survey!  The same survey shows it in 3rd place by men.

According to Scientific American, purple is an emotional response color tied to children and laughter.  Therefore, it was a natural addition to the common orange, black and yellow.  Purples might also be a favorite color of fall and Halloween with the scary ominous skies and the ties of purple to mystics and sorcery.

As for my purple, I decided to go with Little Witch on Fence from A Day for Daisies;  she just seemed perfect for the purple page of my tag journal!  She was colored with Copic markers.

I have included these cuts from the Cricut library:
Cat ~ A Child's Year
Star ~ Wild Card
Tag ~ Don Juan
Argyle Border ~ Artiste
Witch Hat ~ Autumn Celebrations
Spider Web Border ~ Artbooking

Papers are from:
Polkadoodles Little Dudes
Polkadoodles Winnie Wednesday Trick or Treat Halloween

I added some inks, lace and ribbon and the tag is complete!

Little Witch is off to the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp:  Tag It
Dragonfly Journeys:  Happy Halloween
Always Fun Challenges:  Dies or Punches
A Gem of a Challenge:  Halloween/Halloween Colours
4 Crafty Chicks:  Happy Fall Y'all

Deer-est Friends

What would Christmas be without our friends?  This adorable little angel stamp is called Deer-est Friends.  She is one of ten NEW polymer Winnie Heavenly Stamps and you can find them HERE.

I stamped her and colored her with Copic markers and gel pens.  Since she is with her sweet little deer friend, I decided she needed a kraft card base and the the Christmas woodsy tree paper from Winnie in Winterland.  A little country lace, jingle bells and a red ribbon finish the card.

The weave cut on the kraft is made by making diagonal cuts along the side and folding every other cut down into the next.

Winnie is off to the following challenges:

Addicted to Stamps and More:  AG
World Wide Open Design Team:  AG
2 Crafty Critter Crazies: AG with a Critter
Winter Wonderland:  Use Ribbon or Twine
Crafty Cardmakers:  Ribbon or Lace
Magnolia-Licious:  Use favorite color ~ I love kraft/brown
