Tic, Tac, Toe....

Ok, the theme is Tic, Tac, Toe; I love using games in challenges and this board is full of fun ideas!  Come over to Cut It Up and play along!

Here is the Challenge Board.  I chose the 3rd column down or diagonal left to right (fav color blue) or maybe the first row across since I've never used a button as part of my tag hanger before!  ;)

This little winter cutie is from Stinkin' Cute.  He is Penguin 3 Cutting File Set.  I had such a great time putting this tag together with cereal box under some pieces to build in dimension!

My designer papers are from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles and Polkadoodles.  The buttons, gems, and twine were in my stash!  The circle border is from Cricut Elegant Edges.

When you visit the Cut It Up blog, have fun viewing the DT projects and check out the rules and prize info.  Then be sure to share your project with us ~ don't forget the die cut to have a chance to win a prize from our amazing sponsors.

This tag is off to the following challenges:

Creative Knockouts:  Winter/Holidays
Crimbo Crackers:  Animals
12 Months of Christmas:  AG  No Twist
Do-Al(l) Kreatives:  Anything but a card
Arty Divas:  AG

Twisted at Twisted Thursday: Sponsor Appreciation Week 3

It's time for a new challenge over at
The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and our optional twist is Twisted Easel!

In November, we love to recognize and thank our sponsors for the year!

This twisted easel card highlights a digi stamp from Stamp On It called A Little Flat Digital Stamp from QKR!  I love this stamp since I've spent most of my life playing/teaching oboe!  Now, I'll say right off, I've never been accused of playing flat...usually sharp!  UGH!

Most of my family play something, so I know I'll get a lot of use from this one!

It seems almost everyone who plays an instrument in my family (even extended family) plays oboe or trumpet!  We even marry trumpet players; very strange, indeed!  Many of us played through college and into music careers!  I made this particular card for my cousin's husband who is the director of bands at a college in the midwest; he's also a trumpet player.  I'm sure he'll get a laugh from it!

This card is off to the following challenges:
Stamp on It:  AG
Creative Moments:  AG
The Male Room:  Hobbies

Material List:

PoP Midway

Thankful is the optional theme over at Path of Positivity! What makes you thankful?

Me, I'm thankful for so many things!  I'm thankful for my health...when I'm in remission from my auto-immune disease!  ;)  I'm always thankful for my husband and our kids and grand-girls, my friends, coffee, ice cream, and quiet time to reflect/craft.  I try to remember to be thankful for work, inclement weather, and busy-ness.  Not always easy to be thankful for everything we are handed.

This little one sitting on the pumpkin is just so sweet and reminds me to be thankful for lovely days to just sit and enjoy the beauty around me.

*   *   *
This delightful digital image, Pumpkins and Butterflies, was from A Day for Daisies.  I Copic colored the image and sponge-inked the background.  The background Bokeh effect paper is a retired paper from CTMH as is the ribbon.  The flower is from Prima.

Fall Festival Tag

The new theme for the Cut It Up challenge is Festival!  Create any type of project in this theme, but don't forget your die cuts!!

Here in the Midwest US we have lots of fall festivals where we pick our own pumpkins and apples!  I thought it would be fun to use this tag on a pie or other fun fall food item from a festival!

This fun jar cut is from Cutting Cafe.  The tag includes little tiny die cut pumpkins also from Cutting Cafe!  You can find these fun pieces in the Halloween and Fall in a Jar Set.  This is such a fun fall set perfect for so many occasions!  There are apples, pumpkins, leaves, candy, and Halloween theme pieces that go along with the jar cut.  It also comes with sentiments!  You could stretch it into Christmas using the candy pieces in the jar!

I thought it would be fun to cut pumpkins for my jar from Recollections Glitter Cardstock.  I added a few gold beads to the shaker mix!

When you visit the Cut It Up blog, have fun viewing the DT projects and check out the rules and prize info.  Then be sure to share your project with us ~ don't forget the die cut to have a chance to win a prize from our amazing sponsors.

Sponsor Appreciation at Twisted Thursday: Week 2

It's time for a new challenge over at
The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and our optional twist is Anything Goes!

Now, since it is November, it's time again to recognize and thank our sponsors for the 2019 year!

We are continuing our Sponsor appreciation and I am delighted to work with this charming digi from Hetty Clare called Pony Jump!  Now this digi is right up my alley or maybe I should say right down my barn aisle!  hahaha

I didn't start riding until I was in my 30's and started hunt seat with my son who was just a little guy at the time!  We both now ride Western; however, I'll admit, my Western riding is bad English riding in a Western Saddle!  ๐Ÿ˜‰  My son, well, he's pretty good at Western!  Here are a couple of pics of Keith riding!

Keith's first English Show
Keith's last HS Western Show

Anyway, we all love horses over here so a digi with a horse is always a must have!  So, when I saw Pony Jump, I had to have it!  There are more horse/pony digi stamps over at Hetty Clare if you have this same obsession!

I Copic colored this fun image and cut a mask for the image so I could sponge ink over the grass and sky portions.  It's easy to turn a digi into a mask you can lay over a digi to protect it!  If you are unsure how to make a mask for an image on a Cricut, you can view a video on how to do this HERE.

This card is off to the following challenges:

Cutie Pie:  Add an Animal (Pony/Horse)

TT Sponsor Appreciation: Week 1

It's time for a new challenge over at
The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and our optional twist is Pleated Ribbon!

Now, since it is November, it's time again to recognize and thank our sponsors for the 2019 year!

We'll be having 4 challenges this month to get them all in!  How fun is that!

This lovely image is Birdhouse from Anne's Digis!  It is adorable and she has lots of delightful images, and many for free, on her blog!

I used a hot iron to pleat my ribbon and adhered it to the middle of the tag.  This would be lovely on a gift or bag for the fall since I used reds/browns/oranges and a deep green ribbon.

This tag is off to the following challenges:
Colouring in Scrapland:  Works with form (not square)
The Paper Players:  Into the Woods (Woodgrain birdhouse)
TTCRD:  AG

Thankful for Diversity in the Arts

Thankful is the optional theme over at Path of Positivity! What makes you thankful?

This wonderful image reminds me to be thankful for diversity!  I look at this adorable Native American girl and I think of all the different kinds of people who have made this world what it is.

Just thinking from an artistic aspect, it is amazing the different beautiful craft influences from different cultures!

Origami from Japan
Glass Beading from Italy
Turquoise, Shell and Coral Beading from Native Americans
Pop Art from the US
Day of the Dead Art from Aztec that extended through Mexico and South America
Textile Arts from India
Dot and Symbol Painting from Aboriginal Australians

There are so many more; but my thought is, we use many of these influences in our paper crafting today!  I'm thankful for all the creative people who came up with such artistic ideas!

*   *   *
This delightful digital image, Flower Dreams, was from A Day for Daisies.  The orange and plaid paper are from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles Simply Spring Mini Kit.

Smooshing into Fall

The new theme for the Cut It Up challenge is Thankful/Thanksgiving and use the 'smooshing technique'!  Create any type of project in this theme, but don't forget your die cuts!!

I had never done the 'smooshing technique' before and I found it quite fun!  I simply rubbed different color ink pads over a glass plate, sprayed it with water, and laid a piece of white cardstock into the colored water!  Easy as that!

My squirrel is cut from Squirrely Fun from Scrappy Dew.  The sentiment is from Sprinkled With Love also from Scrappy Dew.  You can find both cuts in the seasons section!

The leaves are cut from the paper I made using the 'smooshing technique' and the other papers are from DCWV The Autumn Melody and DCWV Berry Street Farmer's Market.  I believe they are both retired by now since they've been in my stash for a looooong time!  There are some other papers used from my stash, also.

Inks are from CTMH as well as the gold shimmer pen I used on the letters and the olive twine.

When you visit the Cut It Up blog, have fun viewing the DT projects and check out the rules and prize info.  Then be sure to share your project with us ~ don't forget the die cut to have a chance to win a prize from our amazing sponsors.

This card is off to the following challenges:
Dream Valley:  Add a Sentiment
Dare 2 B Artzy:  Cute Animal
Outlawz ~ Paper A La Mode:  Autumn Colors
Cardz for Galz:  Starting with S ~ Squirrel, Smooshing Technique, Sentiment
