Yes, Please!

The new optional twist for our Anything Goes challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday is Anything Goes!

My Copic colored image this week is from Bugaboo and is called Ava Latte.  My sentiment was a freebie from Limited Runs during one of the Coffee Lovers seasonal challenges; I love this sentiment!  Limited Runs has several coffee sentiments and images!

The journal is a retired book from CTMH and the background paper for Ava is an enlarged tag from Polkadoodles Winnie in Wonderland.  Those little wood veneer cups are from Latina Crafter.

This month we are showing our gratitude to all of our sponsors throughout 2017 in a Sponsor Showcase Month.  You will see us all highlighting the year with some of our favorite digis from our generous sponsors.  The November challenge is sponsored by Through the CraftRoom Door.  You can check out their wonderful online magazine full of inspiration and tutorials HERE!

Christmas Table Trivets

It's a new challenge over at Digi Choosday and we are sharing more Christmas/Winter ideas this week!  Our Challenges are always Anything Goes for all of your wonderful entries!

My trivets are made using PRE-COLORED Toppers from Winnie White Christmas .  I cut the sentiments from black vinyl.  The base of the trivets are ceramic tiles from a home improvement store.  I cut the toppers and sentiments, adhered them to the tiles and sprayed them with an acrylic sealer.  I'm not sure how much heat they will take, but I think they will be great under a dish of vegetables or a bread basket.  These would also work as coasters under a nice cup of hot chocolate!  Yummy!

Be sure to head over to Digi Choosday and check out the amazing projects from our team!  Then come share what you are crafting; we'd love to see it!  Remember, when you visit the Digi Choosday Site to pick up your discount code to Polkadoodles; it's good all day today....Tuesday!  It's a great way to pick up those digi's you've had your eye on!  While you're there, you might want to sign up for the Newsletter so you never miss out on special events!

My trivets/coasters are off to the following challenges:

Tagtastic!

The new optional twist for our Anything Goes challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday is Tagtastic.

My image this week is Good Pony from Whimsy Stamps.  I actually had this physical stamp in my collection of horsey stamps and couldn't wait to get it out again!  Whimsy Stamps has a super variety of horse stamps!

The fun "bandana style paper" and the wooden stars are from Papercraftinwitherica.com who is with Fun Stampers Journey.

I stamped this sweet pony and her girl and colored them with Copics.  My tag base is cut twice in "cereal box"; the design is from Old West Cartridge in Cricut Design Space.  Before cutting the base, I "welded" the horse shoes (also from Old West) to make it into a tag.  I cut 2 more horse shoes to adhere to the front.

My horse shoes were cut from grey cardstock and I inked over them with Juniper, Barn Red and Black.  I then streaked them with some gold pigment ink and some Color Bloom spray.  I then "scuffed" over them with some Bo Bunny Copper Glitter Paste.  I found some tiny black gems in my stash and used them for the nails.

On the back, you can see the sentiment.  This is an old stamp in my collection that is no longer available.

My Card is off to the following Challenges:

Christmas...no red/green?

It's a new challenge over at Digi Choosday and we are sharing more Christmas/Winter ideas this week!  But...for the team, we are showing projects with NO Red or Green!  Our Challenges are always Anything Goes for all of your wonderful entries!

I decided to move into some non traditional holiday colors by combining papers from the Winnie Starfish and Sandcastles Papers 7 and Papers 9 with snowflakes and a sentiment from Winnie White Christmas and this was the result!  I cut the sentiment from black vinyl so it would pop off that pink!  Some black backing cardstock, a few pink gems and some glitter and I have a non-traditional winter/Christmas card!

I have to say this was very fun change after the past two weeks of more traditional projects for my Digi Choosday makes!  How about you?  Do you enjoy venturing out of your style occasionally?

Be sure to head over to Digi Choosday and check out the amazing projects from our team!  Then come share what you are crafting; we'd love to see it!  Remember, when you visit the Digi Choosday Site to pick up your discount code to Polkadoodles; it's good all day today....Tuesday!  It's a great way to pick up those digi's you've had your eye on!  While you're there, you might want to sign up for the Newsletter so you never miss out on special events!

Freeze Frame!

Concluding our 3 Month Series over at Path of Positivity:  Surround Yourself with ...  we are thinking about Music!  Surround Yourself with Music!  The idea is to share how you are inspired by music or what music inspires you!

Ok, it's time for a funny story from this Classically trained oboist!  It is true, most of my HS days were spent in a practice room with an oboe.  I was a band nerd from the get go and bucked anything that had to do with sports or outdoor activity!  Definitely didn't hang with the popular kids!  hahaha  Now, I did listen to popular music, but one forbid I would EVER go to a party and dance!  No way!

Well, as fate would have it, a bunch of us band nerds were out on someone's patio having a "party" (well, as much of a party as band nerds would have) and the song Freeze Frame came on.  Everyone jumped up and started moving in a dance sort of fashion.  Not real dancing, mind you, but sort of a Charles Schultz Peanuts version of dancing.  To this day, I hear that song and I can't stay still!  My head starts bobbing and feet go wild....well, sort of....

You can "check it out" HERE.

*   *   *

I used the Imagine That Digistamp Snappy Sandy Digi for my journal page.  The film strip, PRE-COLORED Camera Brad, and the Black and white Camera Digi are all from that set.  There are many other fun digis in that set; you should go see it!

I started my journal page with some stenciling using various inks and stencils.  Now, I didn't have any fun dancing pics, but I could go to my yearbook and copy some band pics from my Sr year in HS.  I brought in some digis and such to decorate my photo sheet.

I colored the camera with Copics and adhered the camera with some foam.  For the camera brad up in the left hand corner, I cut one in blue and one in tan and layered them.  I also went over them with a CTMH Shimmer Brush for some sparkle.

I finished out the page with some ribbon, puffy stickers and a gem.....oh, and of course the title!

So, what music inspires you in a positive way?  We over at Path of Positivity would love to know!

Shape Up! Cards...that is!

The new theme over at Cut It Up is Shape Up! This gives us all an opportunity to get out all those card shape dies we neglect!

I was so lucky to work with this gorgeous cut and design, Cardinal Card, from Ink on 3!  I chose to make a matching envelope

The card was easy to put together and add my own flair by replacing cut berries with some gems and choosing paper patterns for all the layers.

When you visit the Cut It Up blog, have fun viewing the DT projects and check out the rules and prize info.  Then be sure to shape that card ~ don't forget the die cut to have a chance to win a prize from our amazing sponsor ~ Ink on 3!

Bows, Buttons and Brads!

The new optional twist for our Anything Goes challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday is a  Brads, Buttons and Bows!

My digi this week is from PPinky and is called Lily with Snowsisters.

I printed the digi and colored her with Copics staying in the color family of the papers from Polkadoodles.  After coloring, I added some CTMH Shimmer Brush to the snow and a bit of the Gold CTMH Shimmer Brush to the bow of the gift.  For those of you who enjoy using that shimmer, I'd like to add this tip.  I apply the shimmer, leave it to dry, and then spray with Aleene's Acrylic Sealer.  This keeps that shimmer from rubbing off!  The top layer frame is cut from cardstock in the Polkadoodles Winnie Winterland Collection.

I finished off the card with twine tied into a bow, my button, and a heart brad stuck through the hole in the button!

My Card is off to the following Challenges:
Make My Monday:  Snow Fun
12 Months of Christmas:  AG
Dream Valley Challenges:  Add a Sentiment
Creative Craft Cottage: Buttons and/or bows

Christmas Sparkle

It's a new challenge over at Digi Choosday and we are sprinkling a little sparkle your way this week!

Last week I shared some socks for the boys in the family and I mentioned there would be a special gift holder for my daughter!  This is it; I decided to make a mitten for her from the pretty green plaid from the (of all places...) Sticks and Bones Collection! (I love that collection and am always visiting it for one thing or another!)

The heart and glittery snowflake are from the Winnie White Christmas Collection.  I finished it off with a little dyed twine, a bit of gold sparkle, a scrap of cheesecloth, some lace, ribbon and gems.  This will be perfect on the tree with a little something tucked inside for her!

Misteri's Music

The new optional twist for our Anything Goes challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday is a Recipe of 3 Brads, Flowers, and Pearls!

This lovely digi is Misteri's Music from Digistamps4Joy!

I printed the digi and colored her with Copics.  I then added layers of paper from Polkadoodles and followed the recipe adding one of the brads on the bow over the rose tag on the left upper.  The flowers are on the right lower over the lace and pearls!  The remaining brads are on the postcards tucked behind the focal point digi.

My Card is off to the following Challenges:
Craft-Dee Bowz:  Use handmade bow
CCC Digi Creations:  Must use Flowers
Crafty Gals Corner:  Lace and Ribbon
Deep Ocean Challenge:  Inspired by Song/Movie (The Piano)

Hanging the Socks

It's a new challenge over at Digi Choosday and we are sharing more Christmas ideas this week!  We like to give the kids a little money at Christmas and every year I try to find a new way to "wrap" that gift!

When I saw these adorable PRE-COLORED socks in the Winnie White Christmas, I knew I was going to hang some socks in the tree this year for the boys!  Lucky for me my son-in-law's fav color is green and my son's fav is red!  (Stay tuned for my daughter's tree hanging goody; it's soon to come!)

I simply cut 3 socks of each design.  One of the socks I cut in reverse.  I adhered together the reversed sock and one other sock, but only around the edges leaving an opening for money, check, or gift card.  I cut away the top "cuff" of the remaining sock and attached it with 3-D Tape.

I finished the socks with some ribbon and jingle bells.  I think they'll be pretty cute hanging in the tree Christmas Day!

Pure Imagination

"Hold your breath.  Make a wish.  Count to three."

Concluding our 3 Month Series over at Path of Positivity:  Surround Yourself with ...  we are thinking about Music!  Surround Yourself with Music!  The idea is to share how you are inspired by music or what music inspires you!

When I feel sad, distressed, mad, happy, "bleh", I turn to music.  Ok, I listen to music all the time.  If I'm not listening, I'm singing to myself or hearing music in my head.  It's always there.

There is one song that always inspires me ~ Pure Imagination from the Original Willy Wonka Movie.  The music itself is so masterfully arranged with the well placed silences and quiet arpeggiated movement in the beginning. The lyrics are so well written: thought provoking and warm.  There's nothing like hearing Gene Wilder sing that song and at the end when he quietly drinks from his flower cup, it is truly an uplifting experience.

"Want to change the world, there's nothing to it!"  What words could ever be more motivating?

You can hear the song and view the moment that inspires me HERE.

*   *   *
I started with the Limited Runs Flower Mug digi and copic colored in purples and yellows to match the scene from the movie.  I found the '123 with the flowers' in Cricut DS to go along with the lyrics.  I went over the whipped topping with a shimmer brush from CTMH and used Liquid Glass over the dots.  A little advice if you enjoy using the shimmer brushes:  I have found the shimmer still rubs off.  So, after applying the shimmer and letting it dry, I spray it with a thin coat of Aleene's Acrylic Sealer and it goes nowhere!

So, what music inspires you in a positive way?  We over at Path of Positivity would love to know!

Thank You

The new theme over at Cut It Up is Thank You! Such a great theme for the beginning of November since we celebrate Thanksgiving here in the US this month!  It doesn't really matter where we live, we are always in need of thank you cards!

I chose to use a floral embossing folder for the bottom 2/3 of the yellow cardstock and put dots on the top 1/3 with a white gel pen.  The strip of paper and floral stamp/ cut are retired from CTMH.  This was a quick card to put together with some stress-free coloring!

When you visit the Cut It Up blog, have fun viewing the DT projects and check out the rules and prize info.  Then be sure to shake us up with your project ~ don't forget the die cut to have a chance to win a prize from our amazing sponsor ~ Heartfelt Creations!

Such a Great Quote!

The new twist for our Anything Goes challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday is Hope, Love, Encouragement!  I love this quote and felt it was perfect for our challenge theme.

This beautiful digi is Garden Dreams from A Day for Daisies.  This image was just too perfect with the quote!

I printed the digi onto a patterned paper and colored her with Copics.  The snowflake arrow cut is from Cricut CTMH Artbooking and the font is ITC Kloegirl Lotus.  The paper is retired CTMH as is the twine and burlap.  Beads are from an old, broken necklace.

My Card is off to the following Challenges:

Alphabet Challenge:  Q is for Quote
Dare to be Artzy:  Fall Colors
The Paper Players:  Tic, Tac, Toe (Fall, die-cut, gold thread)
