Time for some Dandelion Wishes from Conie Fong!  This bundle is perfect for so many different occasions and especially great for this time of year as we blow off the dandelions! This set comes in JPG and PNG formats!

I have used the Dandelion Girl image and printed it on top of a cut from CTMH Artistry.  I colored the image and then added Clear Shimmer Brush over the floral circle.

Belated Birthday Explanation!

Sometimes I send a card late just because I have the perfect image for a belated birthday and this is one of those times!  hahaha  This image is just too perfect for my riding buddy on her birthday.  She and I went through years of our boys showing horses together in 4-H, we've camped together, trail ridden and even done an alumni show.  We've traveled and had many adventures all in the name of horses!  We've had the best and worst of times when it comes to those lovable beasts!

This great image is from Hetty Clare and you can find it here.  She has so many great images!  If you are horse crazy, you'll want to check out the fun on her Etsy Site!

I started in Cricut Design Space by placing the image on the bottom of my card panel and then typing in my verbiage at the top.  I used the flatten button and then did a print and cut.

I came in with my Copic Marker and colored the scene.  I added color to the sky using cheese cloth and a bit of CTMH blue ink.  I went over the water splashes with a little Studio G Glitter Glue.

Material List:
Pony Wash Digi from Hetty Clare
Copic Markers
Adhesives:  ATG Tape Runner

Old School Fun!

Our new challenge over at Cut It Up is Old School!  The idea is to use something you've had in your stash for a long time!  Come share your interpretation of this theme and don't forget the die cut!

I chose to go with the Old School theme literally and make a backpack for some fun Christmas gifts or treats!  My little backpack measures 5 inches tall and 3.25 inches across the back.  It could easily fit candy, popcorn, pair of socks, jewelry, craft supplies, etc.  This cut is from the Cricut Library or Campin' Critters Cartridge!

My "haven't used in ages" is the chunk glitter on the snowballs!  I occasionally use this glitter in shaker cards, but never on cards or layouts!  So, I decided this would be a great time to get it out of hiding.  I also don't use my Studio G Glitter Glue that often!

Woodland Fairy

As we continue along the way at Path of Positivity, we are Exploring the Fantastical.  We are creating a project that touches on the world of fantasy, wonder, magic or whimsy.

I am working in my journal again for this challenge.  I found this quote that just seemed to fit this fairy image from Beccy's Place.  Seems this little sprite is just full of wonder!  It also inspired the use of the Firefly paper from Scribble Doodle Designs!  There's nothing more magical than a field of fireflies on a cool summer evening!

Come share your ideas of this theme at Path of Positivity!

Mermaids

As a member of DT for Conie Fong, I so enjoy sharing her delightful digis.  I'm sure when you see Conie Fong's art, you will be inspired to make some new projects!  You can learn more about Conie and her art on her Etsy Site or Facebook.  There is also a challenge site for Conie Fong images:  Conie Fong FaceBook Challenge.

My first love in paper crafting was scrapbooking!  That led me into 3-D projects, journaling, simple book making and card making.  I layouts a rest for a couple of years and picked it up again when our first grandgirl came into our lives!  Then when this little one arrived,,,  well, let's say I'm back to scrapping!

I started coloring images when I took a bit of a break in scrapping and now I've decided there's no reason not to combine these two art forms!  So here is another layout incorporating a colored digi.  This fun digital stamp is Ariela Mermaid from Conie Fong.

I printed her onto a shell in Cricut Design Space.  That meant I could have my shell pre-colored.  The actual scene then is colored with Copic Markers and accented with some pearls.  The netting (cheesecloth) has also caught some little blue jewels in it and a sand dollar sits to the right.

The optional theme for the challenge at Conie Fong FaceBook Challenge is Monochromatic.  I tried to go with a Blue theme here.

You can find the rest of the materials/sources in the list below.

     Material List:
Ariela Mermaid from Conie Fong
Copic Markers
Printed Background Papers from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles:  Taste of Summer
Solid Cardstock from CTMH

Ribbons from stash
Cheesecloth

Shape up!

Our new challenge over at Cut It Up is Shaped Card.  Come share your interpretation of this theme and don't forget the die cut!

I decided to go with an oval for my card...I know, not much 'out of the box' thinking here, but I wanted to go with a shape where I could use this fun horseshoe frame from Cricut's Bless This Farm Cartridge/Cricut Access.

Now, you might think no horse in his right mind would stand long enough for all those braids/plaits, well,,,,a picture is worth a thousand words!  Check out my mini Charlie with one of his favorite girls who loved pampering him when she was little!  Just goes to show, the right little girl can play "spa day" with her bestie!  hahaha

The Wonder and Magic of it All

As we continue along the way at Path of Positivity, we are Exploring the Fantastical.  We are creating a project that touches on the world of fantasy, wonder, magic or whimsy.

Now a bunny standing in a garden doesn't look very magical or fantastical but...
This is my interpretation of the final scene of the Velveteen Rabbit.  If you've not read this book, or if you haven't read it as an adult, you might want to check this one out.  It is actually on the web for free here:  https://digital.library.upenn.edu/women/williams/rabbit/rabbit.html
The original pictures from the book are there also.  I remember them so well from my childhood.

This book is an amazing account of a boy who learns about what gives things value...or that is my idea of what the author is saying.  I've always viewed this book as more of a philosophy book as well as a beautiful, magical children's story.  Yes, this book is full of wonder and magic!

Come share your ideas of this theme at Path of Positivity!

  *   *   *
This page in my journal started with a printing the verse from the story and the bunny image from Beccy's Place onto mixed media paper.  I then cut a mask of the bunny from Post-it Tape.  After placing the mask down over the printed bunny, I started stamping with various colors and retired CTMH stamps.  I have a quite a few and this was a great opportunity to bring them out of hiding!

I colored the bunny with watercolor pencils and painted over with water.  I finished the page by inking around the edge to frame it out a bit and backed it with a black page for my journal.

This journal page is 6" x 6" and hole punched using the Cinch Binding System.

Standing Bunny from Old Well from Beccy's Place
