Strength

It's time for new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and our optional twist is to use a Doily! I chose to use a chunky sort of doily oval and border on this encouragement/sympathy/stay strong card.

Having grown up in the funeral business, I have always felt trees = strength.  (I think it comes from the Batesville Casket Company....but anyway, that's probably more information than you care to hear/read!)  There's something about a tree's ability to thrive and give that is incredible to me.  They are strong and beautiful while they live; and when they die, they begin a new life!

My grandfather, who was the funeral director, was quite a craftsman and built beautiful furniture.  His most amazing pieces were rose back chairs and love seats.  What that man could do with a piece of wood was nothing short of miraculous, but then again, the wood (tree) itself was a miracle!

If you have about 5 minutes for a lovely tree video with great music, check out the video below.  It sort of inspired this card!

My Card is off to the following challenges:

  3. I am also a tree lover and have been known (when nobody is looking) to actually hug them. Don't think of myself as a "tree-hugger" in the most common use of the term though. Lovely card, Katrina!

  4. I really like the tree image in combination with the simple script word. This is a great CAS layout and I like the restrained color palette and textures - it reads really well! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at A Place To Start!
