Spring for Boys

It's time for a new challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday and the optional twist is:  Signs of Spring.

There's no greater sign of spring in the country than children out with their animals!  Time to play hard for both!

I was wanting to do some faith journaling in my book and found this verse in Matthew making for a perfect page.  It reminded me of all the times our son Keith gave a drink to thirsty horses and dogs.  Actually, this digi reminds me of him when he was a little guy!

 Material List

 Copic Markers
Waxed Embroidery Floss
Button
Colored Gems from CTMH
Burlap ribbon scrap
Brown Grosgrain ribbon
Lace Scrap
Left over flower cut

This journal page is off to these challenges:
2 Crafty Critter Crazies:  AG with a Critter
TTCRD:  AG
Cutie Pie:  Raining Cats and Dogs

 Be sure to visit

Hmm...Really?

As we meander a Path of Positivity, we are thinking about smiling and laughter in difficult times!  We are always AG, but this month our optional twist is 'Share a Smile/Laugh'!

I thought it would be fun to do another horse project since they keep me laughing...when I'm not crying, yelling, or just simply exasperated with them!  Hahaha

My guys are a handful sometimes and keep me on my toes!  They can be so gentle and kind and then turn into cartoon horses at the slightest provocation!

This is Thunder and he is wise beyond his years.  He has a way of communicating exactly what he is thinking/wanting.  He really is amazing with kids and he was a true star in my therapeutic horsemanship program for 5 years or more!  He took on some difficult kiddos!

This digi from Hetty Clare really reminds me of Thunder.  He is a QH/Belgium cross and he truly thinks he looks like a Warmblood.  He was quite the jumper in his life before coming to our barn.  Now, he's not built to jump, but he does it and is good!  He'd jump a barn if you point him in that direction!  ;)

But, back to his looks, he seems to have all the ..... well, let's say 'less desirable' traits of the breeds!

I always said, "Don't take that horse into an arena with mirrors!  He might figure out the horse is him!"  He pictures himself as a 16 hand, muscular, sleek animal coveted by the grandest of riders.  In reality, he's about 15 hands, rough haired, has HUGE hooves, Roman nose, and a somewhat pointy butt!

All of that said, he is probably the most loved, spoiled animal out there!  He's been ridden by a wonderful dressage trainer now training horses on the circuit and a top hunter/jumper rider from England.  He's carried children with Down's Syndrome and ASD.  Now at 25 years old or so, he enjoys some retirement and just takes our grand girls around for rides.  He's quite the guy!

Hetty Clare knows horses!  She has the perfect images for so many situations I've encountered with my horses and they make me laugh every time!  This digi is Mirror Pony

Hetty Clare has a great way of turning these scenarios into a smile!

Laugh at the Situation!

As we meander a Path of Positivity, we are thinking about smiling and laughter in difficult times!  We are always AG, but this month our optional twist is 'Share a Smile/Laugh'!

If you come over to may blog on occasion, you probably know I have horses.  Now, if anything in life teaches us to laugh at pain, misery, major upsets, etc it has to be having horses.  If we don't laugh we'd end up getting kicked out of barns for yelling, screaming, swearing and the likes!

The fun part of working with animals, especially horses, is no two days are ever the same!  You can think you are ready for a major event with weeks of preparation.  You've trained.  You've groomed.  You've traveled.  You get to the event and the horse sees a trash can painted like a cow and he loses it before entering the arena for the first class!  Yep, you just can't prepare for everything and you have to laugh it off or go crazy!

*   *   *
Hetty Clare knows horses!  She has the perfect images for so many situations I've encountered with my horses and they make me laugh every time!  This digi is The Mouse I can tell you that horses see mice all the time.  No matter how clean a barn is, a mouse is bound to find its way in!  I think horses look at them and laugh until humans enter the picture and then all turns to chaos!

Hetty Clare has a great way of turning these scenarios into a smile!

Sleigh Ride

  Welcome to my blog!

I've always wanted to go on a sleigh ride!  How fun would that be!!  But, my horses don't pull and we don't have a sleigh, so.....I'll have some fun living it vicariously through creating a card instead!

I created this quick, simple holiday card using my Cricut Print and Cut as well as the Basic cut for the sleigh silhouette!

I chose images from the Cricut Access and used the flatten feature for the card front.  I then adhered the Cricut cut (sleigh) to the front over the sleigh image I had flattened!  This created a shadow for the cut!  I embellished the wreath with Christmas Red Stickles.
