Forever in Blue Jeans!

Our themes this month are all about COLOR! Every month we will present a new challenge over at Path of Positivity starring a color family!  Our color hues for January are BLUES!

As I said before, blue is my favorite color!  I love all shades of blue from the periwinkles to the turquoise to the denims!  Blue is the color of most of my favorite "stuff" including my favorite blue jeans!  Blue makes me think of my jeans and the beginning of riding season.  This tag sort of says it all for me:  horses, flowers, blue, and new grass coming in!  Perfect.

These beautiful blue papers are from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles Naturally Cool Collection!  These papers are beautiful and so versatile.

Since our themes are all colors this year, I've decided to make a tag for each month based on the color.  So, be sure to check in and see what the current color has inspired for my tag journal!

Monstrous Valentine's Day!

Ok, are Pip and Ivy not the cutest couple out celebrating Valentine's Day?  I thought this would be the perfect Valentine for my guy since we're both a little weird.  Now, I know he follows my blog; so... Happy Valentine's Day, Kelly!

Pip and Ivy are available as two separate clear stamp sets from Polkadoodles and they are the Stamps of the Month for January!  Each comes with his/her own little pet monster!

*Please Note:  The Polkadoodles Warehouse is closed January 8-26, 2018; no physical goods will be shipped during that time.  All digital download orders will complete instantly.*

This is a larger card measuring 5 inches x 7 inches.  I started in Design Space and cut the house and path.  I cut some yellow cardstock to go behind to create the lights from inside.  I also cut the moon with the sentiment from Little Monsters Messages.  The moon was adhered with dimensional tape.

I Copic colored Pip and Ivy.  The background layer was created using inks and and sponges.

Romance ~ It's all about the Chemistry!

Happy New Year!  I can't believe we're already a week into 2018 and it's time to start thinking about Valentine's Day!

It's a new challenge over at Digi Choosday and we are Getting Romantic this week!  Our Challenges are always Anything Goes for all of your wonderful entries!

This year my sister has a new guy in her life and I wanted to celebrate that with a special card!  Now, my sister is a science teacher (chemistry) and her guy works in a lab.  So, how perfect is this couple I put together from Work & Play Collection 12!  I paired them with some romantic papers from Work & Play Collection 9 Love & Kisses.  I love the papers in this collection as well as the fun digis and ephemera!

I also got a new toy for Christmas...The Little Darlings Magical Slider Card Die Cuts.  This is such a fun Die Set and I couldn't wait to try it.  I used it a little differently since I didn't stamp a clear window; I simply made a sliding front.

Be sure to head over to Digi Choosday and check out the amazing projects from our team!  Then come share what you are crafting; we'd love to see it!  Remember, when you visit the Digi Choosday Site to pick up your discount code to Polkadoodles; it's good all day today....Tuesday!  It's a great way to pick up those digi's you've had your eye on!  While you're there, you might want to sign up for the Newsletter so you never miss out on special events!

Blue Porcelain

It's the first PoP posting of the year and we have some fun planned for this year!  It's all about COLOR! Every month we will present a new challenge over at Path of Positivity starring a color family!  Our color hues for January are BLUES!

When I saw this Peek-A Boo Kitty, I couldn't help but think of the blue porcelain cats.  I decided I wanted to try this Zentangle-type masterpiece from Scribbles!  Here are some pics of blue porcelain kitties from the internet.  Love these adorable kitties!

Now, I must admit, blue is my favorite color!  I love all shades of blue from the periwinkles to the turquoise to the denims!  Blue is the color of my favorite "stuff":  jeans, water, porcelain kitties, cornflowers, my Trail Blazer, my saddle blanket, even my favorite ruler is blue!

*   *   *

I started with the kitty image and colored with Copics.  I chose to go with blues and blue/greens to achieve a bit more variety in my kitty as well as use the Copics I have on hand. I turned to a beautiful piece of blue paper from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles Naturally Cool Kit!

My kitty is off to the following challenges:
Make My Monday:  Blue and White
Simon Says:  Winter Blues
2 Crafty Critter Crazies:  AG with a Critter
Card Mania:  Monchromatic

Our challenge this month is generously sponsored by

Be Happy...!

I love this quote and it inspired me to make this piece for my desk!  It is so true, life is made up of many moments, and I want to strive to make them all happy!

This paper collection and quote are from Polkadoodles Lil Miss Sugarpops.  I used corrugated cardboard from an old box and topped it with one of the pocket letter cards sized up to about 3 1/2 x 5 inches.

The star of my 2018 reminder piece is Miss Winnie Chic!  I am so enjoying the fun that comes with all the variety I can create with her!  Today I have her in a little country spring frock.  Yesterday, she was skating through frigid temps...you can see here HERE!  Wonder what she'll wear tomorrow...

Winnie is taking her happiness to the following challenges:

Always fun Challenges: Something New (Miss Winnie Chic Die Cuts)

Use Your Stuff:  What you're working on

We Love to Create:  Mixed Media

May you all live every moment of 2018 in happiness!

Happy New Year!

There's nothing more fun than creating with new "toys" for the New Year!  Today, I was playing with the new Winnie Chic Craft Die from Polkadoodles!  She is absolutely delightful and I have found I can die cut her little dress to make several different outfits!  This may call for a video later this week!

The printed snowflakes and skates are from Polkadoodles Winnie in Winterland.  The blue background cut is from Winnie in Wonderland and the pink is from Work and Play Music.  Snowflake dies are from my stash.

Polkadoodles Papers are as listed:

Card Base:  Winnie Special Moments

Pink:  Love and Kisses

Blue:  Winnie Starfish and Sandcastles

Skater dress:  Lil Miss Sugar Pops

Miss Winnie Chic is skating off to the following challenges:

Crafty Friends Challenge:  For a Girl or Lady

Calendar

The new theme over at Cut It Up is Calendar! I love calendars and have several all over the house and barn.  I have them in book, computer, and decorative hanging forms.  Some are functional, others are more artistic....I guess I'm just a calendar nerd!

This particular calendar is for my craft room to keep track of ideas for challenges, photos, projects, etc.  I got this dry erase memo board from Amazon; you can find it HERE.  I really like it since it's magnetic, dry erase, and has a cork border!  There is a lot to do with this board!

I used magnetic strips to back the pieces and I can move them around the board.  I cut the different month names; they are also on magnets and can be easily changed!  Important notes can be stuck to the borders with tacks, written on the board and later erased, or stuck under the magnets!

I went into Cricut Design Space and found the calendar grid and month names in the Days and Dates.  The little pieces are from the Polkadoodles Journal/Planner Pages Lil Miss Collection.

When you visit the Cut It Up blog, have fun viewing the DT projects and check out the rules and prize info.  Then be sure to show us your calendar ideas ~ don't forget the die cut to have a chance to win a prize from our amazing sponsor ~ Heartfelt Creations.

Thanks for stopping by!  Make yourself at home and feel free to peruse other posts/pages, leave a comment, and/or check out my Pinterest and YouTube Channel.

My image this week is from our wonderful sponsor A Day for Daisies.  Be sure to check out all their adorable images.  Looks like they have some new holiday images in the shop!

I had this precious Elephant Raining Love Digi in my stash; I added the heart in Cricut Design Space along with my sentiment.  A little simple coloring, a few gems, and background papers is all it took for the sweet little card for any loving occasion!

Wishing you a very Happy New Year!
